HT5787 Unable to enter my Itunes account

How do I access my Itunes account?  My current ID will not allow me to enter. How do I find an older ID and password?

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If you would look help then you will need to provide some more info as to what you are trying to do e.g. are you trying to redownload your past purchases (what you can redownload will depend upon what country that you are in and whether items are still in your country's store), view your library (if it's a new computer then your library will only show if you copy it onto that computer or redownload it).
If you open iTunes on your PC does the phone then show when it's connected ?

    So my father and I just bought our selves iPhones to stay in touch (today is the 24th... well now 25th). I recently wanted to try to get foursquare, skype, and a few other free apps so I decided to try making me an iTunes account.     Jump to 2 hours ago I've been trying constantly to make a Free app account, the type where you go to the store, click a free app, apply for an account and say "none." When asked for credit card information, which then allows you to download free apps only. Well using this method I get the EXACT same responce "your credit card was declined please try another pay method."
    Is there currently some issue going on with the iTunes store right now?
    I should note I've tried making an account through both the iPhone and my PC.

    I don't know what "something" you were trying to redeem, but if it was a valid iTunes Store give, go to the main iTunes Store page (within iTunes), click on the "Redeem" link on the right side of the page, and enter in the code from your card. You'll be able to create an iTunes Store account without needing a credit card.

    For the last 2 days I've been unable to access my account. I don't get any warning or error messages. The top bar looks like its trying to do something but never does. Here are my diagnostics.

  • Unable to de-authorise itunes account

    Hi, Itunes wont let me de-authorise even though i enered the correct username and password, it still says unable due to incorrect user/pass.
    It lets me log in to the store or this forum!
    I am authorised on 4 out of 5 computers. (which no longer exist). And am about to build a new one. Hence the reason i want to de-authorise.
    is there a way to de-authorise from my account,without using the itunes installed on on the actual computers?
    I dont want to end up losing my purchases due to having no authorises left.

    Once you have 5 computers authorized (not before), you can Deauthorize all.

    You won't lose them unless you delete them and don't have a back up.

  • I am unable to authorize my itunes account on my new MacBook.

    It keeps showing 'unknown error -42408'.  I have two Apple IDs and it shows the same error message for both.
    It could well be related to the fact I removed itunes 11 from the new laptop and reinstalled itunes 10 because it is significantly better (but it wont be if I can't play any of the music I purchased on itunes!!).

    If you simply removed iTunes '11 and reinstalled iTunes 10, then some ressources will be missing, since iTunes comes as part of the system. The best you can do, is upgrading to iTunes '11 again, unless you want to do the full Monty and donwgrade MacOS X as well - reinstall an older MacOS X version and upgrade all but iTunes.

  • HT4113 Unlocking iPod Touch after password is forgotten - can't I unlock it by entering my iTunes account information?

    It seems the only way to get back in to an iPod for which the passcode is forgotten is to reset it. Surely it must be possible to unlock it and reset the passcode, like so many other things such as web sites, Android devices, accounts (such as this one!).

    No, you have to restore the iPod. Apple/your account does not know the screen-lock passcode you assigned to the iPod.

  • TS1424 when i try to get on my itunes account i get the error message "New itunes library" and i am unable to open my account.

    I have had an itunes account for over a year and have always used the same computer.  Recently I have been unable to open my itunes account.  Every time i try to open it, the error message "New itunes Library" comes up and I can do nothing further.  Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to resolve this issue.

    Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
    You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
    *Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
    *In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
    *In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    *Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
    Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

    Welcome to the Support Communities!  Here are some steps you can try if you keep getting asked to authorize your MacBook for iTunes:

    If you authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases, but you can't play them and iTunes keeps prompting you to authorize, try these suggestions.
    Authorize your purchases from an administrator account
    To authorize your purchases from an administrator account, follow these steps:
    Log in to the administrator account.
    Note: If you don't have access to an administrator password, you'll need to contact the administrator of this computer. If this is a work computer, this may be your IT department.
    Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. You can download the latest version free.
    Choose Store > Authorize Computer.
    Enter your iTunes account name and password.
    Note: If you have multiple accounts, you'll need to log in to the iTunes Store and authorize each account separately.
    Quit iTunes.
    After you've authorized your computer on your administrator account, you'll need to log out and log back in to the user account you'd like to play your purchases from.   • "Home Shared" Apps are asking for original iTunes Account?

    my Dad just got his iPad (64GB WiFi) and asked me to set it up for him (register, transfer content, etc)
    i've had mine (32GB 3G) for a while, so i have a bunch of apps (free and paid).
    i've never used _Home Sharing_ before but i figured that would be a better solution that re-downloading all these apps of mine to his MacBook Air or over WiFi to his iPad so i enabled _Home Sharing_ between his MBA and my MacBook Pro.
    i only transferred iPad apps. no other content.
    everything went fine. until one of the apps on his iPad had a software update. when he went to the App Store, on the iPad, it prompted him for MY iTUNES ACCOUNT and MY PASSWORD.
    *what am i doing wrong here?*
    *is this how home sharing is supposed to work?* (that he has to enter my iTunes account info or be stuck with whatever version of the app lives on his device at the time of the initial "Home Share"?)
    we live together but are rarely on the same network so really, this was intended to be a one time setup to get him started.

    This situation of yours doesn't seem to be any different from my experiences over the years while using my iMac, iPhone, and my wife's iPhone.
    While using each device, we just sign in to iTunes using my own userName and password each time. It works, marvelously. (I didn't think about that five device limitation when recently adding our new iPad, though.)
    Each and every time we sign on to iTunes, it asks for userName and password. This is an essential task for Apple, otherwise they would lose accountability.
    Are you upset that your father cannot enter his own iTunes userName and password? Well, if he has his own account, then he had an iTunes library different from yours. If your father did not purchase the app being updated, then would you expect Apple to provide a free update based on his userName and password? (Don't hold your breath.)
    It's OK to have two or more iTunes accounts. If you want to let your father update your apps for you, then let him enter your iTunes userName and password when it is requested. (I bet he already knows what those vital statistics are!)
    Accounting is a nightmare for most of us, isn't it?

  • Changing iTunes account on iPad 2

    To unblock my new iPad 2, the IT guy from work entered his iTunes account details.  This was because I couldn't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 7 Home Premium (I still can't - it keeps giving error 9808).
    I now want open an iTunes account in my name on my iPad 2, but it keeps asking me for other other guy's password.  I have an iPad 2 general user's account with correct details and password,  but it doesn't show on iTunes.
    How can I cancel the old account and enter the correct details?

    Thankyouthankyouthankyou!  I'm not quite "into" the touch screen yet. This has been driving me crazy!  I still have a problem with iTunes on Windows7, but at least I can now download apps on the iPad.

  • TS1292 When I input code it just keeps asking for iTunes account password over and over again not loading card

    I got a £25 iTunes gift card for my birthday and I have tried to redeem it but it is not working. I don't know if it's not activated but there is no message saying that the card is not inactive and I have checked all the letters and numbers and I have entered them correctly. When I enter the code it asks me to enter my iTunes account password I do that and then it just brings up the box to enter the password again over and over again... Hope someone can help! Thanks!

  • Apple TV itunes account no space on onscreen keyboard.

    I cannot enter my itunes account for home sharing and itunes because the keyboard does not give an option for a space in itunes account name.

    Nope, it was set up a long time ago and is just 2 words with a space, not sure if they have changed the requirements but seems to work on everything else, and I also can't figure any way to change it.
