HT5824 my cloud has not backed up since 3/2/14 i need help i have no clue what im doing!

when i go into settings and cloud the only app i have marked on is the find my iphone app. how do i go on to see what is in the cloud to delete stuff. its saying i need 5.3gb of storage to back up. i have my contacts, calendar, and notes set to back up. i dont even know how to view whats out in cloud land to see if i still need it. help me please

You can get an idea of what is using your storage by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on your phone. You can see all of your iCloud data from within the apps on your phone that are syncing with iCloud (mail, contacts, calendars, notes, etc.). You can also see some of it by going to icloud.com from your computer.
If you need to reduce your storage, this article provides some suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847. In addition to what's mentioned there, if you have lots of photos or videos in your text messages, they can greatly increase the size of your iCloud backup. Deleting these from your messages, may significantly reduce the size of your backup.

TM Not backing up since Erase and Install

I recently did an erase and install and since then TM just says "Preparing" but has not backed anything up. What should I do?

Welcome to the Apple forums:
Until you solve your problem I recommend downloading SuperDuper and cloning your system on a regular basis. If you buy the options, you can have it make regularly scheduled backups. I believe it can share the TM drive, but if yours is nearly full, I suggest getting another external drive for SuperDuper.
Why did you reinstall Leopard? I was under the impression that all you need to do is boot from the Leopard DVD and in the Utility menu restore the previous system. This might be the problem - I don't really know. I also suspect that the interim Tiger install is part of your problem.
If you use SuperDuper and create a bootable clone and test it, then and only then I would suggest erasing your internal HD completely - actually deleting and recreating the partition, and then booting into Leopard DVD and using it to restore your TM system.
Don't do anything without a second backup.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

I have gone into Mac Help and followed this down to stage 4:
under shared it lists my time capsule and my husband's iMac - both use the time machine but we have switched his off temporarily. Clicking on my Time capsule I get "Connected" and "Sharepoint" - I didn't have to enter connect or password
I don't understand stage 5: how and where do I select the disk or volume that contains Time Machine backups ? How do I know which it is? My disk utility lists 160.04 TOSHIBA MK... with sub-heading Macintosh HD. It also lists (with a "CD" icon) HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS22N
Under stage 6, how and where do I Locate your backup ? I try dragging my Time capsule from Finder to the Disk Utility side panel but it won't go. What is my computer's name?
Please someone help! I'm completely stumped.

Internet comes via cable modem (provided by the cable company), and can be patchy and quirky, so I am often rebooting the modem, but the airport wifi router typically does not need to be rebooted with the modem to regain connectivity.
My problem is that my time capsule has not backed up in more than 10 days. When I went to investigate this, it claims it cannot find the time capsule. when I open the airport utility on the laptop it claims there is no airport connected (although there is the green light next to the internet icon). And whenever I try Backing up to iTunes or to iCloud via either a pc or a Mac, I get the message: "Itunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occured". I tried turning off all apps for backup, but that did not help. I tried deleting all the photos and that did not help either. I tried the backup trobelshooting and I have tried using different computers. I'm completely stomped.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My iPhone has not backed up to iCloud in 44 weeks. But yet, when I went to iCloud.com all my new contacts were updated, but I noticed my PhotoStream did not appear on the Home screen. When I try to update on my iPhone it says the next backup is too large (I only have my contacts and photos saved to iCloud). I have about 500 photos, and I know people with over 1,000 photos whose phones get backed up with the free 5GB just like me. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I can fix this problem so I can backup my photos?

This seems to be because you don't have enough room, have you been to settings > iCloud > Storage & Back Up > Manage.... and looked up what is taking up the room and how big your next back would be.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

I had asked them to replace the laptop as this has been happening repeatedly and seems to be something with the laptop

What is the solution?

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and press the problem. Elevate to store manager if necessary. Maybe the charging circuits are defective resulting in overcharging which is causing the battery problem.

The HT1766 article you attached lists the prerequisites for an iCloud backup:
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. After you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device is:
Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
Connected to a power source
Screen locked
You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

You'll have to use iTunes on your computer to get your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. From there you'll be able to update directly from the iPhone for future releases.

To get rid of the message and use your iPad normally again:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

I'm sorry that your computer crashed. That's the worst. But, it shouldn't have affected ExportPDF, since that is an online service (provided you're using a supported web browser, and there's no firewall or proxy preventing ExportPDF from uploading). First, please make sure that you're using a supported web browser: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Next, I think we should consider the file that you're trying to convert. How big is it? Had you tried converting it before the crash? Does it contain both text and graphics? Do other files convert without issue?
