I have content saved in ibooks on my iPad mini. The collections folders show across my devices, iPhone, macbook pro, and iPad mini. However it does not show the content of these folders. Can you help?

Yes it seems quite a logical improvement to me, being able sync your daily newsreader or the book you're reading and where you are up to.

Syncing iBooks And newsstand between devices

I have an iPad and iPhone and sync collections is on with both. However the books that I have on the iPad don't all show up on my iPhone. The same applies with newsstand. I bought a magazine with my iPad and it doesn't show up on the iPhone. I thought that all purchases should appear on all devices, and that I should be able to pick up reading on one where I left off on the other.
Was I wrong in this or does anyone have an idea of why they're not syncing. I only have one apple Id and one account so it's not a question of multiple accounts.

Big trouble after upgrade 10.10 and 4.0: No sync Calendar and Contacts between devices and users

it is a big trouble after upgrade 10.10. an 4.0 (i paid 18 € again!):
After the update no sync between devices an user for calendar and contacts possible. Asking a password?
No device manger started. Error code -1!; Open Directory Service no started.
Help?

I ended up exporting all the outlook data to CSV, creating a new PST and reimporting the data. Calendar sync now works, but I sure do hope I don't have to redo this every week.

ITunes no longer syncs podcast pause locations between devices

This is how iTunes used to work: If I was listening to a podcast on my iPod and paused that podcast anywhere in the middle, when I would sync the iPod with iTunes, that pausing point would be remembered by iTunes. Meaning... If I then started playing the same podcast in iTunes (after the sync with my iPod), iTunes would play the podcast starting from the exact same spot I paused it on my iPod.
Likewise, iTunes used to remember and share that pause point BETWEEN my iPod and iPhone. Allowing me to listen to the podcast on the iPod in my car, take the iPod into the house and sync it with iTunes, and then sync my iPhone with iTunes and I could continue listening to the podcast on my iPhone from the same pause point.
With iPhone 3.0.1 installed, iTunes 8.2.1 (6) installed, and Mac OS X 10.6 installed, NONE of the above is true anymore.
If I pause my iPod and sync it with iTunes and then try to play the same podcast in iTunes, it starts from the beginning, no matter where it was originally paused on the iPod. And the pause point is no longer transferred from device to device.
Someone please tell me that these changes are not a new "feature". Please tell me there is hope this will be fixed and SOON! Maybe the remembering of the pause point was causing consternation for some users but, let's face it, it's EASY to go back to the beginning of a podcast and it's impossible to remember where you left on in a given podcast, particularly if you listen to 2 or 3 different ones in a week and don't complete them before switching to another.

Can one use the "Documents and Data" sync function by placing the login.keychain reference file in the "Mobile Documents" folder?

Since purchasing iPhone 6 and installing all updates in that, iPad, and MacBook Air, Calendar and Contacts do not sync between the devices and iCloud. I enter new events and contacts in the computer or one of the others, and that's where they stay. Previous instructions do not correspond to the options in the current devices. Please advise.

Since upgrading to maverick I have had problems syncing contacts and calendar between devices

After recent apple support ref:532791559 my macpro will exchange these items between icloud and macpro but now I find I cannot exchange data between my iphone (IOS7) and ipad (IOS7)
In above apple support created new accounts etc to arrange connection but now I have lost the other two items. All three were working perfectly with icloud before updating. Sorry Apple but this is a blunder!!!

Thank you for taking an interest in my problem.
What actually transpired was my Macpro (contacts) would not update after I put changes in to contacts in either iphone or ipad. Apple checked and discovered that changes made in either macPro (contacts) and contacts(cloud.com) did not talk to each other so concentrated on this.
The rep had me signout of my macpro user account, and create a temp new user to which I signed into my icloud account as normal. Then, changes in either macpro or cloud.com now worked. He then did some changes at his end and after exiting the temp user and resigning in as origal macpro user this now made changes to each other. OK. We then deleted the temp user and this worked! but since then I have discovered that iphone and ipad now do not change icloud.com contacts or calendar so would not of course change contacts on macpro!
Other services on icloud (photo stream, mail, docs and data, find my ----, etc) all function with my iphone (so have to presume my ipad also, but this is not with me at this time) so the problem is confined to just contacts and calendar.
In summary, I do have only one icloud address but which appears to have two sets of data as the devices will communicate with something but not altogether!!
I am thoroughly confused, especially as it was all fine until I upgraded from M\Lion to Mavericks on my shiny new macpro a few weeks ago. I had moved from Windows to Apple to avoid just such problems.
Not enamoured with Apple at the moment, but thank you for your assistance - hope this is a better explanation.

Sharing in-game downloaded content between devices (Catan Seafarers)

I've got a question for you gurus out there. I've got an iPhone 3GS and an iPad both registered under the same Apple account. As such, I've been able to install all of the content I've paid for from iTunes on both devices. Yesterday I made my first in-game purchase: the Seafarers Expansion for Catan on my iPhone. Unfortunately, when I view the purchased in-game expansions on Catan on my iPad (I don't own HD Catan, just the identical version for the iPhone), the expansion does not show up as purchased, even after I deleted and redownloaded Catan.
Anyone have a similar experience and know how to rectify (or if it can be?). If I bought the Great Eagle on Angry Birds on one device, would it show as purchased on the other?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Turns out you just need to be sufficiently frustrated with no response from the developer (http://www.usmiphone.de/catan_en.html) to just trust that Apple will refund the purchase price of the in-game purchase if it charges me twice.
I went through the full purchase on the iPad and iTunes eventually gave me a message stating that I'd already paid for the content and it would be downloaded for free.
There's got to be a better way.

How do I sync iPhoto & iTunes content between two accounts on our iMac G5?

I am tired of transferring family photos and shared music between my wife's account and mine. We are fairly new to MAC OS. I am sure that there is a way. The OS does everything else we can imagine. Please assist.

This works for me fine.
I can't get this to work with my iTunes library but this is probably because my music library is on an external hard drive and I don't think the settings ACL works on external drive - please correct me anyone.
To get iTunes working I deleting the iTunes folder on my wifes account at
/Users/username/Music/iTunes/
and placed a shortcut to the shared iTune library folder on the external drive.

Thanks. That worked. Unfortunately, I guess the way I did it, it synced in the wrong direction so I've lost all the bookmarks I'd added to safari on my laptop since the last time these synced. :-( That's one aspect of icloud I find scary and frustrating.

Sync purchased content between two computers

Is there an easy way to sync the purchased content between 2 computers. I have a MacBookPro that I travel with, and I buy music and videos to travel. Desktop has all of my music, how do I get the purchased content to show in the purchased tab of my desktops itunes.

Hey there!
You can sync your items from one computer to the other by going to System Preferences > .Mac > and from then do all the processing involved that the Mac tells you to do.
You can select some specific data to sync to your other computer (if for some reason you did not want your computers to share the same data). For your music to sync, check "Music" in the list of sync-able data (with the green old version of the iTunes logo).
Once you have completed everything, go to your other computer and allow your music to transfer. Just remember that you can only do that sync-allow process with five other computers, it's a rule.

Will I be able to disable the automatic icloud sync between devices?

What I want to know from looking at the keynote speech it looks like if I buy a song on my phone or ipad it will also get downloaded to my son's iphone even though he may not want the sond and vice versa. I hope there will be a way to disable the automatic sync between devices because in theory it sounds good but when you have several ios devices in the family they usually don't want to have the same music that I listen too. I have a MBA, Iphon4, and Ipad and would not mind all of them syncing together but my son's iphon 3GS does not need to be synced with the other devices. I didn't hear anything about being able to disable it and if someone knows can they let the rest of us know. Thanks.

I just hope that sharing is ok. Also using picture flow could be bad too. What if I want to take a picture that I don't want on any other device. This is all good but sounds like they didn't think this through all the way before implementing it. I am a mobileme subscriber and have been for 2 years and I liked iDisk. There was nothing wrong with the way it worked as I could set up iDisk only on my devices and my son's would not be affected. You can create a Quicktime movie slideshow of the book's pages and share that. Here's how to get your book into an iPhoto slideshow and then export as a Quicktime video:
1 - While viewing the book type Command+P to start the print process.
2 - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
Note: If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
3 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
4 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto. Immediately select all of the photos in the new album and sequentially renumber them as "Page " using the Batch Change ➙ Title to Text with the option to add a sequential number to each title. This is to let you put the pages back in the correct order in the event they get sorted incorrectly.
Now you can proceed as follows: create the slideshow in iPhoto and export it out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large (480p with iPhoto 9),
