  • How do you close apps in iOS7

Just upgraded to iOS7. Used to be able to close apps by holding down the Home button, then holding down an app icon. This would cause the 'x' icon to appear on icons of all running apps. You could then close by tapping the 'x'. This no longer works in iOS7 as far as I can tell. Anyone figure out how to close apps?

Double tap the home button, just like 6.x
Instead of holding on the icon, swipe up to dismiss the app.

Double-tapping the Home button will bring up the running apps icons along with an app screenshot "card" above the icon. Tap-drag the app's -card- (NOT the icon) up and off the screen.

How do you close apps in iOS 7. The way I use to do it doesn't  work any more and it is reducing my useful battery life

Double tap on the home key, it brings up a line of apps with little screen shots hovering over them. Flip the screen up, kinda of like you're flipping those apps off your screen.
When you're done just press the home key once to exit the mode.
As to battery issues, poke around in the notifications. There's a lot of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need. Also look to the background updating of apps. Background updating of weather and stocks is defaulted to on, which means it's continually going out to update. May not be something you need.

The apps in the multitaskbar should appear like pages on the whole display. To close them, just swipe from the bottom to the top. you can select single apps for closing, when you swipe them like you would swipe your homescreens.

How do you close apps on ios7

To close out apps, simply double click the home button and instead of holding down the app icons and clicking on the X mark in older versions, you have to swipe the app window up and away.
Also you can save on battery by turning of background app refresh from settings .... See this article for details , http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-close-out-background-apps-in-ios-7-and-save-on-ba ttery/

  • HT5858 Just updated my iPad, how do you close apps?

I've just updated my iPad and cannot find how to close apps.  Need help

For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • How do you close apps running in the background in iOS 7?

Do you know how to close apps in iOS 7?  In iOS 6 you held your finger on them and when the minus sign came up you closed them that way.  This saved the battery.  Now there is no way to close the apps once you close them and it runs the battery down rapidly.

To close out apps, simply double click the home button and instead of holding down the app icons and clicking on the X mark in older versions, you have to swipe the app window up and away.
Also you can save on battery by turning of background app refresh from settings, as explained in this article .... http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-close-apps-in-ios-7-and-save-on-battery/

  • How do I close apps in iOS7

I used to close my apps after I used them in iOS6 but I can't find how to do that in iOS7

Double click home button and you will see the apps that are open.  You will see the app icon and above it the app program window, flick the window up to close the app in question.

  • How do you close apps in OS7

Can not work out how to close open apps in OS7, can anyone help please!

The old way required a tap and hold to bring up the jiggling and minus sign. The new way just requires a swip up. It's faster,
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
