Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them. You will have to delete the apps from the phone and re-purchase them using your Apple ID.

Can't update apps using my Iphone

A few weeks ago my Iphone4 would not let me update any apps. I can browsw apps, and it tells me how many apps i I have ready for update. However, when I try to update or download I get asked to log, I use the correct pw but it sends me in an endless loop of asking me to log in. I've tried using an old pw, and i get told is the wrong pw (which in that case is correct). I get the same msg when setting up auto updates in Setttings
I have done several sodt resets, 2 hard resets, no change. I have changed my apple ID, no change. And today i just got my Iphone 4S, same thing happens.
I can update fine using Itunes on my PC, and sync after, but it gets kinda annoying. Anyone able to assist? Would be much appriciated.

Try doing a hard reset on the phone;
1. Hold Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time;
2. Wait for the Apple logo to appear (ignore the slide to Power Off option)
3. Let go of the buttons when you see Apple on the screen
4. Allow iPhone to reboot; and try to open the apps again.
If that doesn't work; you will have to try a restore in iTunes; and then sync the apps back the phone after the restore.

What a ****, now it happens to me too, first it was an issue in bro's iphone that he couldn't update its iP's apps which resulted to delete his all apss and install them again no matter whether those were purchased ones or feebies. That really *****, I hate it .

I got this from another post from 2011 and it worked for me
I just changed went into settings,then date and time, turn off set automatically,then change date to two days ahead.
Then go back and try updating apps again, it worked for me instantly. Don't forget to go back and CORRECT DATES

Can't update apps on my iPhone

I am no longer able to update apps using App Store on the iPhone. When it asks for my password, the stated user name is no longer accurate and I am unable to change it. I have checked App Store in Settings. It has the accurate username and password and I am able to access my account. I am also able to access iTunes on both my iPhone and my computer. The problem seems to be that App Store on the iPhone is not recognizing the Apple ID updated information. I now have four updates sitting in App Store on the iPhone. When I go into iTunes applications and click on update applications, it states none are available. However they still are not updated on the iPhone. I have tried: restarting iPhone, deleting the apps and resyncing them. Need help!

OK, I've figured it out and although I'm a bit ticked that the techy wouldn't just give me the simple answer, I'm glad its working now...
Whenever you have this problem, it means that something in your billing account information has changed (ie: new debit/credit card). You have to go into the iTunes store and update your billing information.
Step 1 (assuming your username/password info is updated in the iTunes store):
-On your phone and log out ("Settings" icon, and scroll all the way down to "Store" and "Sign Out".
Step 2: log into iTunes, go to your Account and update your billing information.
Step 3: go back to your phone and log back in.
You should be good to go after this.

My email address changed and even though I have changed settings on my iPad and at the Apple store, my old email address comes up and asks for my password. The old password doesn't work so how do I eliminate that from my iPad and iPhone?

The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.

I recently installed the latest security updates on my IMAC running 10.9.5. Since then the mail client cannot download email anymore, neither Apple Mail nor Thunderbird works. It always comes back and asks for a different password.

First, you are digging up a thread that has been dead for almost a year. So you have no idea what the context of the ASC was at that time and what folks were posting over and over here.
Secondly if you spend just a little time on the ASC you will quickly learn that folks make random Apple ID accounts all of the time.
As far as the exact situation which you mention, you can change the primary email account associated with an Apple ID, without changing the ID, which is why I have an @mac.com Apple ID that uses an @gmail.com email address. And it was for the very reason you mention, I got the @mac.com account (accounts which pre-date @me.com by a number of years) for a free trial, but didn't feel that I wanted to pay $100 a year to use it after the trial period ended, but I had used the account during the trial to acquire a lot of Apple content that I did not wish to loose.

They don't expire. As far as anyone knows Apple IDs live on forever - if you forgot its password use https://iforgot.apple.com. Good luck with the answers to whatever security questions it asks.

Right! That's the reason you do not create a new Apple ID.
As far as Apple is concerned a new Apple ID is a completely different user, with absolutely, positively no access to anything available to any other Apple ID.
Concentrate your efforts on resetting the password to your old Apple ID. It has not expired, and is the only way to use all your existing iTunes purchases, App Store purchases, computer authorizations... etc. Forget about the new Apple ID you just created.

Any content is tied to the account that you used to buy/download it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the existing one, then you will need to use the old account to download updates to its apps. Can you not update your old account so as to have a new email address on it (e.g. via this page) ?
