HT5868 "Trust this computer" keeps popping up

The popup "Trust this computer" pops up everytime I connect.  Every time, I select "Trust".  just like in the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5868?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US .   But it doesn't remember, it keeps popping up
The cable I'm using is an Apple cable, on a iphone 4S and IOS 7.0.2

You must have said "don't trust" once. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5868.
If you go to Preferences in iTunes, Advanced pane, and click Reset Warnings it will prompt you again to permanently trust.

  • IPhone with IOS "Trust this computer" keeps popping up

I have upgraded to ios 7 on my iphone, but when I now connect my phone to my car (ipod connectivity) it pops up with the "Trust this computer" box! but disappears quickly and then keeps popping up and disappearing.  I don't even have time to click TRUST!!!!
After a couple of tries the car says there was an error and stops trying.  What the **** is going on!
If no one knows, maybe you can tell me how to downgrade/restore to ios 7 as without this connectivity I can't listen to my music in the car?

I finally fixed it!  Don't know really how but here goes what I did.
You all agreed that before IOS7, by simply plug usb cable between PC and iphone that was it?!
Updated to IOS7, liked it a little, noticed slowness, but was fairly acceptable. My problem started when I was not able to sync my outlook calendar, contacts, etc. to my phone then I freaked out, because kept having this "do you trust this computer again and again when I clicked Trust.... got me crazy.
Someone told me to use iCloud. Did, but I can check my Iphone contacts on a website! not what I was looking for. Then I downloaded ICloud for windows, so I can sync (another procedure) to my outlook. Ran it, restarted, found that my wlan card was disabled, fixed it, restarted (anxious), when back, checked some changes made in outlook, more folders and buttons, but it seemed to work.
I plugged the usb cable and iphone to my pc and Viola! they synchonized!! via usb cable!!
was it the cable? the icloud installation? the rebooting? don't really know, but it works now...
I was this close to return to IOS6 by doing all those creepy steps, but it is ok now...
Please let  know if it work for you guys!!
    cheers!

  • "Trust This Computer" Keeps Popping Up Every Time iPhone Is Connected to MBP

    Hi,
I found this question of the forum in relation to Windows computer, but not in relation to a Mac (especially, I did not find a solution).
The issue: every time I connect my iPhone (6 Plus, current iOS 8.2.) to my MBP (Mid-2012 13'', current Mac OS X 10.10.2) I am getting the "Trust This Computer" message, despite that I have trusted the computer (like twice daily, about 500 times) already. According to 'Trust This Computer' alert on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support the iPhone should only ask me once per computer.
What I have done so far:
    - updated iPhone from iOS 7 to iOS 8 (and within 7 and 8)
    - updated Mac OS X from Mavericks to Yosemite (and within 7 and 8).
    - replaced the cable twice (both Apple, from Apple Store, Australia)
    - reinstalled Yosemite (for other reasons)
    - repaired file permissions on Yosemite (got this from this forum)
    - tried different USB ports
Nada, still asking me. In addition to the annoyance, it is the also apparently not syncing with iTunes.
Do I have options left to make the issue go away?
    Thank you for your help!

This just started happening to me after I updated to 8.3.
I haven't had this problem for a very long time.  Now, every time I plug into my Mac, 10.10.3, I get this message.  I tap on 'trust' each time but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

  • Trust this computer keeps popping up every time I try to sync

I have a iPhone 6 iOS 8.3, Macbook Pro and iTunes 12.1.2.27 and am having an issue with sync.
In iTunes I can see my iPhone, but every time I try to sync a popup saying  - Sync failed due to this computer is no longer approved for purchased apps on this iPhone?
I then approve the computer and it states that I now have 3 out of 5 approved computers. I then try to sync again but then the popup comes again?!?!
Am I missing something or is this a bug?
Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance :-)

    Hi, jmansa.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are consistently receiving a prompt regarding 'Trust this computer' and an authorization alert.  Here are a couple troubleshooting steps that I would start with.  If the issue persists, please let me know.

  • "Trust this computer" keeps flashing!

I have an iPad Air.  "Trust this computer" keeps flashing on the iPad when plugging it into my MAC.  won't let me select it.  All "fixes" I read for for iTunes on a PC.  I have not seen any posts for fixing this on an iPad Air to Mac-I iTunes.
My Itunes on the mac is up to date  My OS on the Ipad air is up to date.
I want/need to back up the ipad into itunes on the computer but can't get there... I'm fearful of losing everything (mostly pictures) on the iPad.
    Help is appreciated.

I would download a fresh copy of iTunes from www.apple.com and install it over the copy that's on the Mac...that's how you fix itunes on the Mac...if you do that and it still does it it could be something going on with the iPad itself....I would first try a different cable...if that doesn't work I would try making a iCloud backup...I would then advised doing a restore...I wouldn't do a restore unless I made an iCloud backup because the restore will wipe the device to try and fix it

  • HT5868 Trust This Computer

Every single day, I plug my phone into my same work computer.
The phone makes a really annoying alert sound, and says "Trust This Computer?"
I tap Trust This Computer. Every time.
Every few minutes it makes that sound and asks me AGAIN whether or not to trust this computer. I tap "Trust This Computer". A few minutes later it asks again.
Over and over and over and over.
How do I make it STOP doing that?

this is a new security by Apple, due to some of customer do not want to syncronise with the computer they connected but they just wanted to charge their device. Here is what you can try to do, try to connect your iPad again using different cable, and please authorise the computer that you syncronise with

  • HT5868 "Trust this computer" in iOS 7? NOT!

"Trusting" the only computer my iPhone 4S is connected to does not trust it "indefinitely" as the Apple article says -- unless by "indefinitely" Apple means anywhere from 1 second to the next time it feels like asking the question. Windows Vista, anyone?

well, for one, you really need to update both ios and your computer software. this may solve your problems

  • HT5868 why does my iphone KEEP asking if I trust this computer? I thought it was a onetime thing per computer?

Why does my iPhone KEEP asking if I trust this computer? I thought it was a onetime thing per computer? I plug my iPhone 4s into the computer and every time I tell it to trust this computer, but a hour later if I plug in again, I have to say trust again... bug? Setting issue? Help?

    http://helpios7.com/trust-this-computer-pop-up-fix/
This helped me. Fix #1 is something Apple doesn't ever suggest to you.
My specific problem was somehow my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver got turned off and moved and maybe even uninstalled, but after hours of struggling, this site helped tremendously.
Furthermore, I could connect my iPhone to my computer but not into iTunes. It would only let me go to access pictures on my iPhone and that's all.
Best of luck to anyone trying to figure out their problem.

  • Trust this Computer - iPad/iMac Message Keeps Popping Up - HELP???

I see plenty of reported issueson this subject, but none that fix my problem.
iMac has latest OSX and iTunes versions, iPad is updated to iOS 7.1.  I even tried reinsatalling OSX (thought I'd got away from reinstalls when I dropped Windows!!!).
But I still get bing, bing, bing, bing, bing ... and the "Trust this Computer" pop-up every second until I unplug the (original Apple) USB cord
Any suggestions how to get around this annoying problem - which may have started after iOS 7.1 upgrade.
    Thanks!

    Hello there TedJ,
It sounds like your phone keeps connecting and disconnecting over and over until you unplug your iPhone from the computer. I recommend the troubleshooting in the following article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting USB-related alerts when syncing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5254?viewlocale=en_US
Try the following steps to check the connection between your device or computer. You might need to do only one of these steps to resolve the issue, so test your connection after each step.
See if the cable connection at the device or computer has come loose or unplugged.
Unplug the cable you're using to connect your iOS device from the USB port on your computer, and then reconnect it. Then unplug it from your iOS device, and reconnect it.
Remove any third-party battery packs or cases from the device and ensure that the USB cable is connected directly to the port on the device.
If your Lightning or 30-pin cable is connected to a keyboard, display or USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on the computer instead.
Close any virtualization apps (such as Parallels or VMWare).
These apps may interfere with your computer's ability to communicate over USB if they aren't properly configured, or up to date. If this resolves the issue, contact the developer of the app to see if an update is available.
    Restart your computer.
Restart your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
If you're using an accessory or third-party cable to connect your device, try using an Apple cable with the device instead.
Update to the latest version of iTunes if you have not already.
Disconnect other USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then, reconnect your iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect the other USB devices one at a time. Make sure your iOS device is still recognized by the computer after adding back each device.
If one of these steps resolves the issue, but it comes back later, make sure you haven't changed how the device is connected. For example, check to see if you plugged the device into a specific accessory, or used a specific cable that reintroduced the issue.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • HT5868 It keeps saying 'Do you trust this computer' I press Trust each time?! And it doesn't connect?!

Please help: It says 'Do you trust this computer' I press 'Trust' each time?! It doesn't connect to my laptop. Why?? I have tryed resetting all settings but no. Restarting it but no.

Hmm.. Maybe you should authorize your pc in itunes.
Here is how to do that:
    Authorize Your Computer in iTunes
    1. Download the latest version of iTunes that's appropriate for your computer from theiTunes website. Try to avoid signing up for Apple's newsletter.
    2. Click the Store menu, and then select Authorize This Computer.
    3. A window will prompt you for your Apple ID and password. Fill in the appropriate information, and then click Authorize.
    4. After your submission, your computer will be authorized for playback, and a dialog box will indicate how many computers you have currently authorized to access your Apple account. If you have reached your limit, it's time to deauthorize another machine.

  • Keep getting "Trust this computer?," comp. doesn't recognize photos

Until yesterday, when I plugged my iPhone 5C (ios8.02)  into my regular computer, the computer would tell me how many new photos I had, ask what folder I wanted to put them in, etc.
Now, I get an error message saying that it doesn't see any photos on the device (even though they do show up in iCloud Photos on the Photo Stream, so they're there).     At the same time, I now get a Trust This Computer? message on the phone every time I plug it in.  I wonder if the picture error message goes up because I didn't click on Trust yet -- but I can't get to it before the error message comes up!
I did some looking around at earlier suggestions to many people with similar problems,  and I noticed by searching my computer from Control Panel that my phone drivers were updated yesterday -- not by me, I don't think!    So I think that must be what's causing the problem suddenly.   So I went to Hardware / Drivers -- and the button to Update Drivers is grayed out.
So can anyone help me (a) turn off the Do You Trust pop-up for my regular computer  , and (b) know how I can get the computer once again to accept the photos on my phone?
    Thanks!
    Pat

  • HT5868 My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" and wont charge from USB ports now

My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" 1 day ago after doing it everytime i plugged it in to a USB port on my work laptop. It will now no longer charge from any of the USB ports. The USB ports work fine on the laptop for other devices and my phone will prompt me and charge at any other computer in my office. I possibly hit do not trust by accident which may have caused this. I reset all settings on the phone and rebooted my laptop and none of this fixed the issue. Phone syncs and charges fine at home and there were no issues with my work laptop up until 2 days ago with prompts or charging. Any ideas??

    Hi,
I'm new on this forum and with my iphone 5c.
'Till some days ago I had a Windows Vista pc and when I connected the iphone, it was recognized.
Yesterday I decided to change my SO in Linux Ubuntu 13.04 but now my iphone isn't recognized and I'm not able to use it.
This message appears on my iphone
"Trust This Computer? Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected via USB or Wi-Fi. [Trust] [Don't Trust]"
I clicked Trust but the iphone buzzes twice, then repeats the prompt. This will repeat endlessly.
I read a lot about the bug, but is there any solutions waiting for the resolution of bug?
    I can't use my iphone!!!!
