HT5887 Can I use airdrop to send from my mac to my iPad?

I am trying to send files via airdrop from my mac to my iPad both are equipped with airdrop but cannot seem to send between the two. Can someone help?

As far as I know AirDrop currently only works OS X<->OS X or iOS<->iOS, not mixed. But it would be cool if it did…

  • HT4623 Hi how can I get pages to download from my mac to my iPad? Do I have to buy it again?

    Thanks

On the mac, you can save a Pages document to icloud and on the ipad (yes, you have to buy the ipad version of Pages) you can access the document.
If instead you mean how to download the Pages program from a mac to an ipad, then you can't.  Different operating systems need different programs.  Just like you can't download Word in Windows to a Mac (unless you use a Windows simulator on the Mac).

  • Is there any way I can "Move" Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from my Mac to my iPad?

I just got an iPad, and I plan to sell my Mac... So my question is, can i move products I paid for from my Mac to my iPad?  The only ones I want to move are Pages, Numbers and Keynote.  If there is a way, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    -Eduardo A. Varela

Applications for your Mac are coded for the operating system on the Mac which is OS X.
Applications for the iPad must be coded for the operating system on the iPad which is iOS.
Hence the applications for the Mac will not work on the iPad.

  • HT5887 Can I use airdrop with a iPhone 4S?

I can't figure out how to get airdrop. Can I even use it with a iPhone 4S?

AirDrop is available on iPhone 5 or later, iPad (4th generation), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires an iCloud account.

  • Can I copy a movie rental from my mac to my iPad?

Is it possible to share a rental movie between devises? ie: I rented a a movie on my home Mac and want to watch it outside of the house on my iPad.

I actually figured it out, and did it maybe the wrong way but it worked, hmm can't be wrong if it worked, after interfacing the 2 devises I dragged the rental to the iPad from the left menu column in iTunes and it copied it over then when I synced it transferred woithout a hiccup. When I came home since I had not finished the movie I just connected them together opened iPad>movies and there was a set of large boxes at the top right being the computer left being the iPad with the rental having a "move" arrow button that pointed to the computer box, click, sybc and moments later I was enjoying my movie on the big screen Thanks to the respondents.

  • Use Gmail to send from your other email addresses

    hello,
i have setup gmail account on my Q10, but i can not use it's "send from other email addresses" functionality.
    description of the situation:
i have my own domain with configured email forwarding to gmail account. i publically use only domain email address so in fact no body knows that this really goes to google. on the other side i have configured google to send from different account, so i use SMTP of my domain. in general it looks like gmail is just my mail application and mail storage - my domain has really thin limits. it has the advantage that i really send form my domain address, receiver sees only my domain address but the mail goes through google, so i use gmail's interface which i like and also message is stored in "Sent" folder of gmail.
the only idea which comes to me to configure similar setup on Q10 is to configure same account twice, but with different "from" address on the other account, but won't it be than i get double notification per one email?
    regards,
    mark

    Hi all,
This can be also a general question without any connection to the Gmail service, and I formulate itt following way:
Is the email client of the bbq10 capable for sending emails with different from email adresses?
All the most popular email clients are capable for that, on a special way the former blackberry bold was also capable for that function!! I know, i used this function.
I have ca 10 email adresses, which are only aliases and all email will forwarded to one mailbox. That means only once downloaded, and when i reply to or forward an email i can always choose the from adress, as i would write from a different email account.
So whatsup dear blackberry service provider, are you one step back as also with the disappearing of the good old BIS service?
Despite of this i like bbq10 very much
Thanks for all kind of help

To each his own. I own Outlook, but I avoid using it like the plague. The only Mac mail software I have liked better than Apple's Mail was Qualcomm's Eudora, which is no longer updated or even available, won't run without Rosetta, and unfortunately never quite got the hang of IMAP.
Check out this post regarding this user's continuing use of Eudora on his Lion MacBook:
    Shield Eudora from Lion's Claws
A thousand thanks and kudos to Michael for this fabulously excellent thread!
Eudora's now happy in her new Snow Leopard VM home on my Lion ModBook!
Appears essential to keep resource-forked data off Lion disk:
First attempt with Eudora on SL VM was sharing data on Lion disk. Error messages on open like "can't find Table of Contents" suggest Lion ate resource forks crucial to Eudora.
Found success by transferring data from SL Mac to thumb drive, then mounted drive in SL VM so Lion couldn't touch.
While Michael warns against storing data in VM, appears there's no choice with Eudora. At least She's enthroned on a mirrored RAID.
There is Nothing like Eudora! (to tune of "There is Nothing Like a Dame" from South Pacific -- Oops! my gray hair is showing!)
(It's amazing Parallels can force Lion to store taboo resource forks. Thank God for code warriors!)

  • How can I transfer files from my mac to my iPad, e.g., mp4 files.  Do I have to use iTunes?

How can I transfer files from my mac to my iPad in an easier way?  I'd like to put some movies on, and I can use iTunes, but is there another way?  I have transferred epub books using Dropbox.  Movies eat up a lot of dropbox space and the iPad has trouble getting them.

USB disk. You still have to go through iTunes.
    Connect device to computer/mac
Select your device in iTunes menu.
    Apps...
At thebottom of the page you will see the app.
Select it and the Add for windows and + for mac
    Hope that helped.
In the long run there is no way to access or uplood data on your device without iTunes unless you JailBrake....
