Is there a way to remove the menu bar from a secondary display while still using the very useful "Displays have separate spaces" mode?
The reason I ask is that most full-screen video playback in most applications, from iTunes to Flash/Silverlight plugins do not take up the full screen, instead leaving space for the menu bar (in the case of iTunes) or leaving the menu bar present on top of the video (for fullscreen Flash/Silverlight videos).
This is annoying for several reasons ranging from the obvious distraction factor to the fact that 1080p video is not played back at native resolution on a 1080p display.
If there is no way to disable this functionality while maintaining separate spaces, I would (humbly) suggest that a future update to Mavericks allow non-Lion-style* full-screen apps to take over the entire display.
*Lion-style full-screen apps are those that animate into a full-screen mode when the opposing-arrows full-screen button in the upper-right-hand corner of the window is pressed.

No. Turning that off reverts to the old display setup. You have one desktop spanned across all displays. The menu bar appears on the primary display only.

Mavericks shows the menu bar in both monitors when you have two. That's great, but the menu bar in the passive desktop turns translucent, which is a bit annoying. Is there a way to keep both menu bars opaque at all times? Setting the menu bar opaque in the desktop settings affects only the active monitor.

DISCOVERED THE ANSWER!!!!!
I recently got one of these fun little squares and I just figured out (what seems to be) a simple way to keep the clock face on. (Though, I certainly agree with the comments about the ultimate impracticality of doing so for a long time, as the the battery in this thing only has so much to give.) I'm running the latest update on it.
This seemed too easy to believe when I did it! No need to keep it empty of music! No need to keep it in Fitness running! I think this works because the clock face, stop watch, and timer are all in the same segment of it's little nano operating system.
If you turn on the stopwatch then switch back to the clock face, it will stay fully illuminated as long as the stopwatch is running. I think the limit on the stopwatch is 24 hours, but my guess is your battery is going to be dead long before that. I'd recommend setting the brightness super low if you're going to do this.
Anyway, problem solved if you want to keep it lit for however long you like. (of course you have to sacrifice the stopwatch)

How can i put my display on screensaver while still using the beamer?
My beamer can be on for a long time, i would like to use my screensaver at the same time, but then the beamer screen also goes to screensaver.
Is there a way to use just the beamer screen, while the computer screen is on screensaver?
I use a macbook pro with Mavericks.

What you can do is hiding the tabs (see pic below) and force the active tab programmaticily

After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.

Are you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Once you have activated your new phone, you old phone won't have cellular data.
Then restore your old phone using itunes, then sync your music to it.

How can i remove the menu bar from my second display

I am using a Mac Mini for our auditorium projection computer and since upgrading to OS X Mavericks, the menu bar is now on all displays. I needto remove it from the projector display so it doesn't show on the projector screen. Is there an option for this?

Address bar and menu bar hidden unless I expand page and use the pointer

I am a new user of imac. Can you please help me - the menu bar and address bar and search bar does not show when I open Safari. I can get it if I expand the page and use the pointer to point at the top of the screen. This is the only way I can use it now. I hope you can help I am not too savvy yet on this lovely machine.

If you are using Lion OSX, they have implemented a full page feature for many programs. If you are running it full screen (like it sounds like you are) then you just move your mouse up to the top of the page for those items to appear. If you don't like full page, there is a button in the top right corner (it has 2 arrows pointing at each other) and you can click that and bring it back to the normal mode.

Forget the menu bar - how can I kill transparency in all the menus?

I don't care about the transparent menu bar. I think it would be better if on mouse over, it became solid, but I don't mind it.
However, the transparency in the MENUS is driving me nuts! Apple has succeeded in making every menu in the OS and application harder to read if there is anything underneath it (which there pretty much always is). So far as I can tell, there is absolutely no way to disable it.
Come on, Apple. The whole point of menus is to show you options when you want to see them. Why in the world would you make those options harder to read? At least give me a **** preference to turn this stupid crap off!
So far, I'm sorry I upgraded. Stop chasing after flashy graphics and get back to building a usable OS.

I totally agree. If the menus are going to be transparent, give the users three things in addition:
1) the ability to make the menu even less transparent
2) the ability to blur the stuff behind the menu even more
3) the ability to turn off the transparency entirely
This goes for the menu bar as well. What were the designers thinking when they added all this useless eye-candy that gets in the way? That's the kind of stuff we expect from Microsoft, not Apple.

For security purpose on my environment, I would like to hide the Menu Bar option or (better) restrict the right to install an add-on, change the proxy configuration etc..
I dont want to use an add-on for that as it will perhaps not work anymore if I update my firefox.
So i am searching for a registry/file user preference solution or anything else that will let me doing that.
