Turn off Wifi in settings and then turn it on again; this will pause your device's update from updating.
To stop automatic updates of applications, go to settings, Itunes&appstore, scroll down to automatic downloads and turn off updates

I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. This is true of course, but doesn't cover the situation where some files are in the iTunes Media folder and others are on an external drive. In my case I keep my music in the Media folder and all my films on an external drive (there are too many to have on the internal drive). In iTunes 11, and before, it was easy to add those external files by holding down the alt/opt key while dragging to the sidebar. In iTunes 12 this is no longer possible. There are several workarounds: use TuneSpan to move the file after it's been added; delete the file from the Media folder and empty the trash then use iTunes Get Info which will report the file is missing and allow you to locate it; constantly switch the Add to iTunes toggle on and off as required. All of these require a lot more work than just holding down the alt/opt key while adding.
It constantly gets harder.

This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Firefox doesn't bookmark pages automatically to the Unsorted folder unless you click the star on the location bar.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

. You do not need a seperate Apple ID. One one device you just need to go to Settings>Messages and add another/different Messaging email address and delete the common Apple ID address. Also see:

Open Software Update and, while it's doing its check, open its Preferences from the Software Update menu (beside the Apple menu). in Preferences, click the Installed Software tab. Is the HP update listed there?
Do you have an HP printer? I suspect so, because I don't, and I never get notified about HP printer updates. Software Update does keep me posted on Epson and Brother updates, because I have Epson and Brother printers, but I never hear about updates for Canon, Lexmark, Kodak, Samsung, etc. If by some chance you don't have any HP printers, you might go to Mac HD/Library/Printers and just delete the HP folder that you'll find in there. SU can't update software that you don't have.

Try going to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at". If that doesn't work, you'll have to tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different Apple ID for iMessage.
