The SILENT switch on the side of the phone needs to be OFF-the red/orange means ON and Silver, Gray, Gold whatever color the phone is OFF. Switch needs to be switched closer to the screen in other words towards the screen. I had the same issue and discovered this was the culprit for NO SOUND in Videos.

Firefox worked earlier today (August 19, 2013 about 6:30 pm EDT). When I opened Firefix after 9pm EDT, Firefox attempted to perform an update. No error was given, but now Firefox will not start. Running a Windows 8 machine with all updates and current security software with no known malware on my system.
When I try to start Firefox, the system shows the "working" circle, but then nothing. I created a new profile, and got Firefox to start, but whenever I try to go to any website, Firefox crashes.

I have a 2009 MBP 15 inch with Mindisplayport.
Can Minidisplay Port work with the new Thunderbolt Display?
If not, is there any adaptor i can use to make it work.
I also have the new MBA with thunderbolt socket.

I need to use the new Thunderbolt Display without the stand on a VESA mount, but before I order it I need to make sure it will fit height-wise in the allotted space.
The ThunderBolt display specs page has the same sizes listed as the 27" LED Cinema Display specs page (web archive). I just measured my Cinema Display for you and the height of the display itself without the stand is 15 5/8". However, you will need some additional space at the bottom for air flow intake. These displays get hot and need proper ventilation so do not block the vents on the bottom. Also the bottom vents are where the speakers are.

Does the new Thunderbolt display have any advantages over the current 27" iMac
Other than being 3kg lighter and including a sub (2.1 stereo system) rather than just stereo speakers, are there any advantages of the new Thunderbolt display over the current 27" iMac?
We need a new desktop very soon, and will eventually upgrade to an Mac Pro (not until a post Lion version comes out with Thunderbolt built in). We were contemplating a MacMini Server and a Thunderbolt display, but for only a little extra (weight and cash) we could get a more powerfull 27" iMac. Are there any benefits of the Thunderbolt display that are not included in the top end 27" iMac? I'm assuming it's just the same 27" LED backlit TFT LCD with IPS...
In the end we would probably end up using the iMac or display as a display for a Mac Pro (we're photographers), so if there are significant benefits of the Thunderbolt Display, we'll just get it with the Mini as a stopgap.The only real advantage of the new 27" ACD is that you can easily move it from one unit to another (Mini to MBP to Pro, etc). If you bought a 27" iMac you could always hook up another display to the iMac and run dual monitors fairly easily.
The advantage of the Pro is that you can add a bigger video card, lots more RAM and up to 4 hard drives. If you plan on buying a Pro as soon as it comes out, get the Mini, if not get the iMac (it will save you a bit of space over a ACD and a Mini). I think the real question is, what do you think you are going to use more in the future.
And yes, the 27" iMac and the 27" ACD use the same IPS screen. -
I am unable to update any add-ons at all. Every time I try and install an add-on or even the new "show hidden add-ons" add-on, I get a server error. How do I fix this?
You may have triggered some intermittent database issues but it should be running smooth by now. Let us know if you still see server errors.
Also, if your addons appear to go missing after updating there is a workaround http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/09/28/issue-discovered-with-firefox-add-on-upgrades/ And there is a 7.0.1 fix on its way. -

Also, how can I reconnect my iphone to my Apple ID?Do you mean that you removed the phone from the 'manage devices' section of your iTunes account ? If you do then that won't stop you being able to purchase items on your phone - you only need to be logged into an account to be able to purchase with it.

The icons for links are gone. In their place are hyphenated boxes. After I click on an existing link once the real icon comes back. For Example: I have several bookmark links for Amazon. Those links now have hyphenated boxes as their icons not the Amazon icon. Once I click on an existing link the Amazon icon is activated and replaces the hyphenated boxes. Literally EVERY bookmark / link icon is now a hyphenated box till I click once. How can I fix this? I'm running Firefox 8.0 on windows XP. This problem started this week. Before and After upgrading to firefox 8.0 from 7.xxxx. See screen shot example.jpg i've attached below. Double click to enlarge it for better viewing. Any input welcomed. Not a major problem but I would like to have the icons back.

MaxboydThanks. That solved it. I had my doubts since I wasn't concerned about my lost bookmarks. I was concerned about the broken functionality. In any event, restoring from a backup solved both the functionality and the lost bookmarks. I appreciate the response!

You do NOT have duplicates. This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in your Itunes Library and that exact same song can be accessed from a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos can be accessed from the album. -
