    Hi PSpark!
I have an article here that I believe will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. That article can be found right here:

I am having trouble downloading and updating my apps for my IPad2. I am getting a messahe "Error 1004 try again later". Anyone experienced this?

    Hi John
iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.

  • Trying to download Maverick, and keep getting "an unknown error has occurred'

Trying to install maverick, keep getting 'an unknown error has occured' message when I try to login to my apple account

Just saw the post from makras.
There are always a few problems with a new OS. Apple can't police every maker of crapware that's on the planet.
If you have a WD external drive, I would transfer (not clone) the files from it to another non-WD external drive that doesn't have crapware on it, and then erase the WD drive, and then never ever again buy a WD drive.
You will find many posts on the Apple Discussions from disgruntled narcissists (a few borderlines too) who blame Mavericks for their computer problems.
Mavericks is excellent (at least for me).
Every new OS has some incompatibilities with older software. That's why if someone is an early adopter, they should understand this, and if they have a low tolerance for frustration, or are uncomfortable with basic mac maintenance and troubleshooting, they should not be an early adopter.
Seems like the vast majority of problems that people complain about on the forums are related to crapware they have acquired on their computers from previous installations and promiscuous downloading habits.

  • Purchased tv series and trying to download and i keep getting error =9006...help .... I still have 62 downloads that I paid for

I have purchased over 200.00 in movies and tv series. I was able to download the movies fine and part of the series. Now nothing will download I keep getting an error 9006 please someone help. I have no idea what to do

Same here - did the latest iTunes update and boy am I glad I did that; haven't been able to run iTunes since. Have re-installed after uninstalling as per one of the other help pages, re-booting, and now instead of getting the above error message I get one that says Apple Application support not found. Please uninstall then reinstall. Apple error 2.
Not thanks - Apple, you might want to do something about this I'm guessing since I'm no longer able to use iTunes thanks to your update?

  • When trying to download an ebook I get "Error! Check Activation."

I am using a PC (Windows) and the activation seems all right when checking in the account details.

For this problem, you need to deauthorize and authorize ADE again.
    Launch ADE
    Help -> Erase authorization.
    ADE will be deauhorized.
    Now again AUTHORIZE ADE
    Help-> authorize computer.
    Error will be fixed !!

  • How do you correct "error 1004 try available later" when you try to download apps.

I try to download apps from the appstore and all I get when it tries to down load is an error stating, "error 1004 try again later"

    from: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1004
Error 1004 and 1013: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to default on Windows. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

I have an ipad2 and it won't let me reload an app that I accidently deleted. It is a free app that I had downloaded without a problem and now when I try to re-install it, a message comes up repeatedly that says Error 1004-Try again later. Please help!

Try this and see if it works for you.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data/Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Hi I have just bought a new Mac Book Pro 15" Retina display with 256 SSD and 8G RAM. I had my info transferred form my Previous Mac Book Pro late 2011 to this machine. When trying to download Mavericks it says it cannot be loaded onto this machine? Strange as I have just downloaded Pages, Numbers and Keynote...free? Thanks and Regards

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got OS X Mavericks installed (the Keynote, Pages and Numbers versions available in the Mac App Store are only compatible with OS X Mavericks).
You have got a Late 2013 MacBook Pro, which uses a special OS X Mavericks version that is not available in the Mac App Store. This is the reason why the Mac App Store is not compatible with OS X Mavericks even if you are using it. This will be fixed in OS X 10.9.1, when your Mac uses the same Mavericks version as all other Macs.
Until then, you can reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718

Exactly which model/year is yours and does it meet the system requirements for Mavericks?

A minimum of 4 GB RAM is recommended as well as enough hard drive space.

When trying to download Apps, ipad keeps asking for password. Correct password given but has no effect and box requesting password input appears again.

Try downloading something in the iTunes app on the iPad and see if that gets you out of the password loop that you are stuck in.
