HT6154 I need to Unregister my phone number with Apple I am not getting texts to my new Galaxy from other Iphones

I just switched from IPhone to Samsung galaxy. now all my friends and familiy with Iphones that text me are not going through. How do I fix this

Turn off iMessage on your old iPhone.
Contact Apple Support at 1-800-MYAPPLE and request the Account Security team.  They can send a text message to your new device that is using the old phone number, and can unregister your phone number from your Apple ID/iMessage.
