Hi. My wonderful hubby surprised me with a new MacBook Pro last night (he will be deploying soon and won't be home for the holidays, valentines day, my birthday or our anniversary)! I have a great camera and a TON of photos on my laptop that I don't want to lose. Try double clicking on the harddrive icon on your desktop
You should get something like this.
On the left pane is a list of common places.
All the user data is in the /Users folder.
See the magnifying glass on the upper left of the screen. This is spotlight. Type in a file name.

just wondering if any one can help out with my app store? It has been trying to update itunes for nearly 2 months now. It wont let me shut down my mac or close the store. It comes up with "canot quit with updates are in progress" ThanksDo you get any error messages ? If you get a network timeout error when downloading the update then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.
It's best to only update via your own computer, otherwise you risk losing all your iPad's contents - updating to iOS 5 wipes the iPad and then restores your backup. If you having problems downloading the update then you could try downloading the update file via a browser on another computer and then copying that file to your laptop for the actual update . -
My Outlook Contacts/calendars (running on an iMac) never sync properly with my iPhone, and now on the last sync 90% of the contact information on my iPhone has been deleted. Any ideas?

Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

If your contacts are synced to your computer then they are in the supported app you are syncing with.
When you set up syncing of contacts on your device, which application did you select? -

I'm afraid the IMEI number won't do you any good: its principal value is in enabling your service provider to block the phone.
In order for your iPhone to be locatable you must have enabled the 'Find My Phone' app on it prior to losing it, and it must be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. Unless all these conditions are true there is no way of locating it. -
I received a message that my iphone 4S was unlocked and that I should connect to iTunes to complete the process. When I connect to itunes I do not get the message "Congratulations you iphone has been unlocked". I have the latest itunes. Welcome help.

I have an epson T50 shared network, which is connected to a computer that runs on Windows 7 64-bit. What should I do?The first thing you should do is re-write your post to make it a bit more understandable. I got you have an Epson printer connected to your PC, however after that your post doesn't make any sense. Are you attempting to print from your iMac, if so then you need to download and install Bonjour for Windows on your Windows machine. Then set Windows so it has printer sharing turned on and then on the iMac simply follow Apple's instructions for adding a printer.

The carrier, if you know which one the thief used, might know if it connected to their service by checking the IMEI number, not the serial number. If the thief uses a different carrier, that won't help either.

Trying to update to iOS7. Update successful except a few more things to do. Now it is in "updating iCloud settings" and has been updating all night and day. Do not understand why it is taking so long? Any suggestions?
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -
I cant get my iphone 5 to be compatible with my mac book pro. When I plug the iphone 5 in it tells me that i need a newer version of itunes 10.7 and I currently have 10.6. I checked for updates in my itunes and it says i dont have any. So i have gone to the itunes website to try and redownload itunes which i believe it 11.7. When I try and download that version it tells me the software on my computer doesn't suppor that version. I try to update my software and it says there is not software updates available right now. Is there anyway I can get my iphone 5 to synce to my itunes?
In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
