This will depend on whether they are savvy enough to open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility on their Mac , click on the picture of the AirPort, and then click the Update button.
It that sounds too complicated, best to let someone else handle the update.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

I was happily using version 3.6 You intruded into my computer to install against my will v. 12. Not only does Roboform not work on this new version of FF, but the form and feel is CLUNKY. Why do you have to screw up something that was working just fine, especially against my will?

I am trying to get the most speed out of the browser, instructions say to type about:config in the address bar and hit enter, I did this. It now says to rt. click, from the menu select "New" then "Integer", I cannot find "New", I need better directions.

Card Images Become "Unopenable" on Notebook After Changing View From "Details" to "Medium Icons"

I've been viewing & placing image files into folders directly from my camera card over the past few days on my new notebook. It was becoming very tedious as I had to view each image seperately to see what it was, before I had the bright idea to try to "VIEW" them differently. In the process of changing the "VIEW" from "DETAILS" to "MEDIUM ICONS", some of the the pictures which had previously been fine the few times I had taken the card in & out of the notebook, became HP Icons instead of the picture's thumbnail. I didn't realize this at first because the pictures were broken up into months (luckily), I was going through them chronilogically, and it wasn't until I got to images from the 26th of that month that I came across this problem. I clicked the HP logo for these images and got the message "SORRY, WE CANNOT OPEN THIS PHOTO". I immediately panicked and closed the folders and took the card out to put back into my camera to see if it showed up on there. Sure enough where those images had been was replaced with a big question mark and the message "Unidentified Image" when I selected it to view. I immediately went through every picture on the camera to see if this had happened to images from other months, but it had not. I had no clue what had caused this as all the images on the card/camera had remained intact the previous times I had put the card in the notebook (I'm constantly viewing images on the camera & usually go through all of them in passing daily). I had no idea what had caused this, and was afraid to put the card back into the notebook. After trying to explain this on some camera forums I needed to know the exact messages I received trying to view those images. Put the card in, took it out, and no more pictures were effected. A day passed and I figured I could work on filing pictures from the other months until I could solve the problem. I went through the camera first, and all the other images were fine. Put the card in and was presented with the "DETAILS" view again, so I changed it from that to "MEDIUM ICONS". MISTAKE. BIG MISTAKE. The same thing happened to several pictures from that file, which I immediately saw, closed the file, and took the card out. The images which had been fine moments before were now question marks on my camera. Genius that I am had to do it twice to figure out what did it. After that I tried changing the view back to "DETAILS", which of course didn't work.Prior to that I didn't think it was the camera, but I wasn't sure if it was the card or the notebook. I've had the camera 3 years, no problem. I've had the card 6 months, no problem. I've only had the notebook a few weeks, and had only started using the card reader a few days before this happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated as most of the pictures effected were irreplacable Christmas pictures.
Just in case it helps my camera is a Canon PowerShot SX150 IS and the card is Wintec filemate Professional Plus 64GB.

I have tried copying the affected images after they began to display the problem, but they opened (or rather didn't) the same as before I copied them.
I was using the default program to view the pictures, HP Connected Photo. However after this occurred I attempted to view them with Windows Photo viewer, with the same result.
Unfortunately I do not have an external card (but if i knew it would restore the photos I would definitely get one).
I don't think I have a virus, and the notebook is still so new I have the trial of McAfee running (which, for what it's worth, says "Your computer is secure". My internet service is also protected.
As stated I was copying images from the card for several days (and taking the card out & inserting it back into my camera after each use) with no altered images showing up either on the camera or the notebook. It wasn't until I changed the way I was viewing the files from details to thumbnails (medium icons) that some of the images from that file were affected. (The pictures had automatically been seperated into files by month, so there were 6 files. Only the file with the thumbnails I switched how I was viewing had altered images. The other 5 files remained fine, until I did the same with November's file, at which time some of those images became unviewable as well).

If you didn’t erase the drive and install using you AppleID, then the OS and the purchased apps are still registered to the other AppleID. You cannot change that by logging into iCloud. Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to purchase/download them.
You have to erase the drive and download/install the Apps using your AppleID.

I don't know which old version you're referring to but iPhoto 6's, 7's and 8's retouch tool works exactly the same as iPhoto 9's. The color of the enhance tool's area while applying is a light brown color but the retouch works on any color using the surrounding colors as a basis.

A bit late for this advice now, but hopefully you'll know what to do next time.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.

I'm now more than convinced that this is caused by the latest iTunes version.
As some others stated in other threads .... it seems that Apple doesn't really take care of this problem. So what if, if we could make them feeling the same pain as we do. ... Just by dropping them a mail as soon as we have the problem again. Not more often, we don't want to be unfair, but everytime it happens.

Since the last update to iTunes Version 10.6.1 (7) streaming content (Movies and TV shows) to Apple TVs and iPads has two major problems:
- Home Sharing is lost during streaming (streaming stops even if a large portion of the content is already preloaded)
- streaming stops and the main screen pops up (Home Sharing still available)
This happens sometime after some minutes, sometimes after several hours, but it surely happens.
I followed every advice I could found on this support website. There are now a lot of threads following this issue.
Sometimes it seems getting better, but hours later the same isues occured again. Watching content on this enviroment is a real pain and very frustrating.
As many others I'm now convinced that the latest update of iTunes caused this problem.
Our family enviroment contains the following Apple products:
- iTunes on a Win7 32 bit Noname PC (all content)
- second iTunes on a iMac with OS 10.6.8 (all content)
- third iTunes on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8 (daughter, only selected content)
- fourth iTunes on a Win7 32 Samsung Notebook (son, only selected content)
- all iTunes sharing the same Home Sharing ID
- 2 Apple TV second generation
- 1 Apple TV first generation
- 2 iPod touch (bought last year)
- 2 iPads (second generation)
all firmware or software are on latest available patchlevel.
At this moment, I can not recomend to others to buy this products.
I will drop this feedback everytime my famiily and I facing this problem... just to help you to get a better feeling of the urgency of this issue.

I have a mid 2007 iMac w/ mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. My time machine (LaCie) is not responding through firewire port (since day one). Did an update mess this up?

I have just recently realized that my time machine has not backed up in a couple of weeks. I am using a LaCie external hard drive that I purchased with the iMac and has been plugged into the firewire port since day one. When I try to establish a connection it only gives me airport utility. When I look through network connections it shows that my fire wire is not connected or at least it doesn't find anything connected.
I have also been getting a start up disk message off and on that I need to close applications due to no more memory? (or something similar to that).
Just curious what might have changed. Did an update re configure something? Are these two issues connected?
I have always loved my Mac for the fact that it just always worked. I'm not super savvy with computers and the settings so I'm not the kind that just goes in to tweek things. This is the first real issue that I have had with it. I would think that it was the fact that I upgraded to lion but I did that quite a while ago.

It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?

If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

I would appreciate your support to help me figure out if this problem is solvable.
The error comes about whilst trying to download certain apps from the app store, including CSR Racing which when i tap on install a message box pops up saying "This App Is Incompatible With This iPod touch", another time for a different app it came up with a message saying "This app requires OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics capability.
Main questions:
What was achieved from the latest forces iPod touch 2g update (17/07/2012)?
solvable problem(s)?
Will i need to buy a more recent model of iPod touch if this isnt fixable?
ps. My iPod has lasted me 3 years so far so i am not suprised, still in good nick!

It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.

You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.
