HT6323 Isnt apple pay sending DAN a security issue?

Under section "When you pay using Apple Pay within apps" it says that the unique "Device Account Number" is sent to the merchant  with a dynamic security code.. Is this not unsafe .. press releases talk about a dynamic one time key only !!!

"Dynamic" in this case is referencing the "single-use / one-time" security code.  Apple Pay, other than Cash is a very Safe way to P{ay.

  • How can I get Apple to send my iTunes security question answers to my new email?

Originally, I had my Apple account set up to a gmail account. But then, I deleted my gmail and connected my account to my hotmail instead. I'm going to lose this laptop soon for a new laptop swapout, and this is the only device that lets me use my iTunes account. I don't remember my security question answers, so I have them emailed to me via "Manage my account". However, I fear that the answers may be being wrongly sent to the gmail account I deleted. I need this question answers soon, otherwise I will lose hundreds of dollars previously put into my iTunes. Please help!

  • Send Apple Email - Send Mail Then Quit Issue

here's a simple apple mail that send an email. If I add the 'quit' line - then mail will quit before it send the mail....
Q: How do I fix it so mail won't quit until the mail is sent? Can I add a 10 send pause or something?
    tell application "Mail"
    set theMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true, subject:"My Subject", content:"My Body"}
    tell theMessage
    make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {name:"test", address:"[email protected]"}
    end tell
    send theMessage
    --quit
    end tell

Q: How about a better way : is there some way to check that the mail was actually sent - then if so : quit?
It's not quite what you're after, but Mail.app does have a background activity count property which tells you how many tasks it's currently running:
    repeat
if background activity count > 0 then exit repeat
delay 2 -- wait 2 seconds before checking again
    end repeat
There's no delineation of send vs. receive tasks, but that shouldn't be a big problem here.

  • Sender SOAP Adapter Security Issue

    Hi All,
We are building a SOAP to proxy scenario. The sender is a SOAP Adapter and the receiver is Proxy. The SOAP WSDL and URL is provided to the legacy system. When the legacy system is trying to send the data using the WSDL and the URL provided, they are receiving a dialog box to enter the user name and password. We can create a system user and provide those credentials to the legacy system. However, the legacy folks are not interested in including this in their web service.
Could you please suggest, if there is a way to create the web service such that it wouldn't request for user credentials? Something like no authorizations in the web service?
    Thanks,
    Manohar Dubbaka.

    Hi Preeti,
Thanks for the response. Since we are on PI 7.0, I believe the setting that you are referring to should be on Visual Admin. Could you please let us know the parameter or the setting that needs to be changed in VA?
I am not sure, how we can make use of SSO to prevent them from entering the user credentials. Your help in this regard would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manohar Dubbaka.

  • Is it possible to securely buy a car from overseas to be shipped to the uk using apple pay?

i am trying to buy a car and been offered a great deal however the car is uk registered by someone who has moved to Spain. The car is currently in spain.
He has advised that the car will be shipped to me on the proviso that we use Apple pay.
the seller has informed me that I make the payment to apple pay and then the car is shipped. When I receive the car I can make sure I'm happy and only then Apple pay will release the funds to him. He says by using this system then we are both protected.
sounds a little too good to be true hence I am looking for advice on Apple pay as I cannot find info for this type of transaction.
Is this a scam or is this possible via Apple pay?
here is the link he gave me to read up on the matter. :
    http://apple-pay.com-appl.co.uk/how.php?continue=terms&tog=to_read&ssl=on&transa ction=0&nologin=&country=uk=type=1
but I cannot find this link while going through Apple pay website.
    Please advise.
Much uch appreciated and thank you.
    VYnne

    Absolutely a scam.
I know someone in the U.S. who tried to sell a car online.  He was told a sailor would be landing shortly and would like to send a money order to secure the car.  This was a documented scam here.  Undoubtedly personal information (e.g., bank account number) would have been asked for.
But the biggest giveaway here is that Apple Pay is not yet available in the UK (or in Spain)!

  • If my iPod Touch 5 battery is failing, can I pay Apple to send me a refurbished one before I send them the one with a failing battery? I don't want to go without my ITouch.

If my iPod Touch 5 battery is failing, can I pay Apple to send me a refurbished one before I send them the one with a failing battery? I don't want to go without my ITouch.  I really don't want to go without it but I dont want to have to purchase a new one.  The battery life is abysmal, and I am reluctant to upgrade my ios system to ios8 because all I ever see are complaints about upgrades killing the battery.  I am still on ios6.  When I upgraded my macbook pro (which is now DEAD) the battery got worse.
I am just sick of it.  I called apple about my itouch battery and the help was terrible.  All they were telling me to do was do a restart and UPGRADE TO THE LATEST IOS TO SEE IF THAT SOLVES THE BATTERY PROBLEM.  They would not even tell me what to do if that would not work.  Very rude.I kept asking and I finally had to find out myself through my own research that they cant replace the battery; instead they send you a refurbished ipod.  They never told me that on the phone and they kept giving me the run around when I kept asking them what I should do if the IOS upgrade did not work or made the battery worse.  Hopefully someone can answer my initial question.  Thanks guys.  I have a charger that I sometimes use plugged in to the ipod ( not all the time, I know that is bad for the battery)  and I thought my battery life should be better than it is because I sometimes use it on the charger  ( it should save the battery).

Not that I know of. You can do the exchange at an Apple store if they have refurbished ones in stock

I'm trying to reset my apple ID password but forgot my security questions. Apple are sending the confirmation e-mail to the wrong address, please help?

    Hello AndrewsAFCx,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
If you cannot remember your security questions for your Apple ID, I would recommend these steps outlined in the article named:
Apple ID: All about Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
Try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you are not sure you remember the answers to your security questions.
If you are confident you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address
sign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID passwordsign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password
contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you have forgotten your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.

A no-contract sales price does not mean unlocked.
Apple is now selling an officially unlocked iPhone in the U.S. which has nothing whatsoever to do with AT&T unlocking iPhones. It is up to the carrier and the carrier only to officially unlock an iPhone that was sold as carrier locked with the carrier - in this case sold as carrier locked with AT&T. This may change one day, but at the present time AT&T does not unlock an iPhone for any reason or under any circumstances.

  • Apple Pay activated without permission when walking through library security doors.

I would like to know why Apple Pay activated when I walked through the doors to my local public library. I believe this is being caused by the security system that keeps people from stealing books from the library as well as items from stores. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a security risk? I'm curious what Apple will have to say on this matter.

    Hi ..
This being a user to user forum, it's hard to say whether or not your post will be read by a represenative from Apple. This community is moderated by Apple, that's all.
But what you can do is provide feedback >  Apple - Apple Pay - Feedback
Since you were not making a purchase, I doubt there was any security risk involved.

You've checked the spam folder on your rescue email account and tried clicking the reset link again to re-request it ? You could also contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
