HTA Files

I was wondering if HTA Files worked for the "new universal intel" program?

Hi Paul,
From what I can see on various searches HTA files are Microsoft Internet Explorer specific. I didn't see any mention to them being used on Macs, but if any application would be able to launch them it would be the Mac version of Internet Explorer 5.2 (this is no longer developed by Microsoft and hasn't been updated for a couple of years now).
Microsoft no longer have it available for download, but this site appears to have it still:
http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/Internet-Explorer.shtml
Note that there also a few mentions of security implications for HTA files in the searches I did, so if that version of IE can launch them, make sure you know and trust the origin of the files.
[ Edit: The only way the Intel chips would help in this case is if you installed Windows on the machine in question ]

    You might need to set MIME type in web.xml for HTA extension to allow Weblogic
    default file servlet to serve it.

    You need to install Windows using either Boot Camp Assistant or using a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. IE will be installed with Windows.

    I have a local html file (a tiddlywiki) that I use on windows and mac. To use it on windows it needs the extension .hta - Safari 3 opened this file OK as a web page. Safari 4 just kicks it up in Finder. Can I force Safari to open local files like 'file://directory/blah.hta as a web page?

    Hi,
    One thing you have to understand here is Webdynpro doesnot support java script.
    So their is no way to do things at client side using the scripting.
    What ever is possible is at the server side, when you say that the local file need to be read with out uploading to the server (FileuploadUI) looks a bit unrealistic with webdynpro.
    I dont have idea about JSF integration to WD , if you can create Components that supports java script and then embed them using the JSF bridge might be of help in this scenario.
    Other alternative could be a component in Flex (that too not sure)

  • How do I reinstall the HTA program on a system that's running Windows 7 Pro?

    I’m writing on behalf of my father, a small business owner that relies extensively on his ability to utilize the tools via the GUI interface for his HP printer.
    He contacted HP and they informed him that an HTA program is required to be installed on his system in order for the HP software to work.
    This program, HTA (mshta.exe) should be installed with the most recent IE iteration on the system. He has IE 9.0.
    His profile has protected Admin privileges however he is unable to run the HP software when he double clicks on the icon.
    However, I have full admin privileges but when I attempt to launch the program, it opens up two notepad files with HTML code inside.
    I check the “file types” list under the folder options and found that “.hta” was in the list but was associated to notepad vice the normal HTML application program.
    I made and attempt to associate it to the HTA.exe in the sys32 folder but the HP software continues to open up in notepad.
    I’ve scoured the internet and Technet but haven’t been able to find any articles on how to resolve this.
    I have a mitigation plan in place to get him through while I find answers, but in the world of a small business…time is money.
    Thanks for understanding,
    Regghen

    Hi,
    Have you tried
    right-clicking the HP files and choose “open with…”?
    Click Start>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program, check the Current Default for .hta. The default program to open
    .hta files should be Microsoft (R) HTML Application host (mshta.exe).
    Use
    System File Checker tool to scan the system.
    You may try installing the HP software on another computer and see if the issue persists.

  • Execute .hta document from ABAP

    Hi,
    I want to execute a .hta document using ABAP. What way do I have to go?
    .hta is an HTML Application (HTML and Java Script). In our case a form that has to be started by clicking on a file name.
    In what direction do I have to look for a solution.
    Ron

    Hi Ron,
    if the file can be executed locally from your C:\ drive by double-clicking, it means that the extension HTA is directly executable OR it's linked to a program (e.g. EXEs are executable, but HTMLs are linked to your internet browser).
    Anyway, if you can double click an HTA file, you can also launch it from ABAP with function module GUI_RUN.
    I hope it helps. Kind regards,
    Alvaro

  • HTA Tools?

    Are there any HTA tools written with PowerShell?   I want to create a custom HTA file within CM2012 to do our Windows 7 deployment and I know PowerShell so I wanted to use a PS HTA.
    And either way can any of you direct me to a useful HTA tool?

    I haven't actually tried to use PowerShell during OSD, so I don't have an answer for your first question (but I would guess yes, assuming you can get PowerShell to display a GUI [not sure if you can]).
    As for your second, here's an example of a HTA solution you can use during OSD (I haven't used this myself, but it looks to be pretty friendly):

  • HTA Always on Top

    Hi all,
    I've got a lovely HTA that is intended to be displayed on all our users screens at Windows startup, as defined by a GPO.  While everything is working fine, I'd really like to have it as an "always on top" window or at least grab focus/flash whenever somebody clicks away.
    Every forum thread I've found via Google says this is not possible, but other people have found 'hacks' to get this to work.  Various people mention either modal/modeless dialogues or using an onblur function.  Unfortunately, as a self taught 'coder', my VBS/HTA powers are fairly weak and I don't really know how to put this into practice.
    Would anybody be able to give me some guidance on how I could possibly launch the HTA and retain focus or keep it above other windows somehow?
    Cheers
    Andy

    You need a Third-party application
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html 32 or 64 bit version
    put nircmdc.exe in your path or in the folder with hta file,
    now use this sample .hta

  • Running in HTA Mode

    Is anyone using Microsoft IE's HTA mode to control the border, titlebar, system buttons, etc?
    I'd like to have an app window without a titlebar (or at least without the partial to full address link annotation displayed as a portion of the caption there in the titlebar).
    HTA gives ultimate control to the browser window, but appears to require your html files have the extension .hta. Is it possible to run in HTA mode in AE (HTMLDB)?
    As always - Thanks for your insights!
    Mark

    <p>I may have gotten it figured out. For reference, Microsoft's IE browser has an "HTA" mode which lets you set your ApEx window up just like a standalone executable (no browser menus, disable right click context sensitive menu, scrollbars, etc.)</p>
    <p>I wanted to disable the "Path" caption in the titlebar, and haven't found another way to do so. You can add your own caption, and edit/remove the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" (anno via REGEDIT), but the path always appears too.</p>
    <p>MSDN has info on "HTA here".</p>
    <p>Here's what I wound up doing:</p>
    <p>1. Create a standard html page which fires off my ApEx application. Here's the contents of that page (html angle brackets replaced with square brackets):</p>
    <p>---------------</p>
    [html]<br>
    [head]<br>
    [title]My App[title]<br>
    [HTA:APPLICATION ID="My App"<br>
        APPLICATIONNAME="My App"<br>
        BORDER="thick"<br>
        INNERBORDER="yes"<br>
        CAPTION="yes"<br>
        CONTEXTMENU="no"<br>
        maximizeButton="yes"<br>
        minimizeButton="yes"<br>
        NAVIGABLE="yes"<br>
        SCROLL="yes"<br>
        SCROLLFLAT="no"<br>
        SHOWINTASKBAR="yes"<br>
        SINGLEINSTANCE="yes"<br>
        SYSMENU="yes"<br>
        SELECTION="yes"<br>
        WINDOWSTATE="normal"<br>
    /]<br>
    [head]<br>
    [body]<br>
    [a href="http://LINK TO YOUR APP'S LOGIN PAGE HERE" target="_top"]My App[a]<br>
    [body]<br>
    [html]<br>
    <p>---------------</p>
    <p></p>
    <p>2. Save that page with a ".hta" file extension instead of the standard ".html".</p>
    <p>3. Create a Favorites link to the ".hta" file.</p>
    <p>Now, when I click my Favorites link, the login screen comes up in a window where I have total control via HTA. </p>
    <p><i>Note that HTA is MS IE specific.</i></p>

  • HTML Applications (HTA) and ColdFusion

    Is there a way to use an HTA file to launch a ColdFusion
    application? I'm looking to present my CF application more like a
    Windows application versus a web site. If not HTA, what other
    options might I consider?
    I've tried using an IFRAME in the HTA file, but that just

    Of course. I did it a few years ago. i don't really recall
    the format,
    but it was fairly simple.
