Htaccess for a Muse website

hallo, can you tell me how to make an htaccess for a Muse website? or even give me an example?thanks

@ patangelkit_242 I figured out my problem and thought I'd share. Before Muse I used Weebly and activiated "enable mobile sites" I had to disable this and republish my site. After I republished I cleared my root folder and used the Adobe FTP client in muse to upload all versions. There was no need to create a .htaccess file at all. There was just some type of conflict with the folders Weebly created and the ones Adobe created. Hope this helps.

Why can't I set up POP/IMAP emails for my Muse website in Business Catalyst? I don't have the option 'use this service for email as well as hosting the website' under Advanced options.
Is this due to my Hosting Plan? Appreciate any answers.

Your site is a CCM site which is on a WebBasics plan (This plan does not provide hosted emails on Business Catalyst).
If you want to create email addresses on this site, you would need to setup your email server elsewhere and configure the MX records on your site to point to that external mail server.
If you want to use Business Catalyst's hosted email services you would need to use a WebBasics+ or higher siteplan. To upgrade your CCM free site, Access your site's admin area  -> Site Management -> Upgrade Now -> choose the desired site plan and billing frequency -> Add personal and credit card details -> Submit.
Please refer this article about setting up email accounts on your BC site: http://docs.businesscatalyst.com/user-manual#!/site-settings/email-users
For setting up records to point to external mail server, check out http://docs.businesscatalyst.com/user-manual#!/site-settings/email-users/creating-inboxes- for-your-users

  • How can I maintain the font used in Adobe Edge Animate for Adobe Muse website?

I used a png file which is working perfect and then used the font Montez in Edge Animate for 2 titles, however once I published the file(live) to muse it a totally different font. Is there something in particular I need to do in Animate to avoid alteration of font. Help!

    The original photo gallery is:
    http://www.bethanyjanedavies.com/portfolio.html
You can see that the right side is chopped off
But I may have to compromise and use:
    http://www.bethanyjanedavies.com/portfolio2.html
This is a much wider page than the rest of the website, but I suppose you have to find a compromise that works!!

  • CMS for Adobe Muse Website

    Hi everyone,
Im a high school student and really into graphic design. I was asked to create a website for a charity. Since Im more of a visual person, I used Adobe Muse and created the site. (www.growingcommunities.com.au) However in the past weeks I have been getting a lot of school work and not been able to update the sight with what they want on it. Before me creating the site with Adobe Muse they had a very basic and unaesthetic site in wordpress.
I was wondering if there is any way to convert the adobe muse site into a theme for a content management system?

    Hi,
You can make changes to Muse using In-browser editing. Please refer to the following links :
Adobe Muse Help | In-browser Editing of websites using Third-party Hosting Service Providers
Adobe Muse Help | In-browser Editing using Business Catalyst
Also, if you host your site on Business Catalyst, it is a CMS based hosting service. So you can easily make changes to the site.

  • Desperate for help - Muse website not sitting central on iPad/Android, but fine on desktop Mac and Windows 8

    Hello,
Hoping someone can help, tearing my hair out a little here as there is no logic to this and I'm thinking it's more a bug since the latest update..
The site when viewed on my mac looks perfectly central, but on my iPad only the 'pinned' header is central on the page with the rest of the content pushed to the left - and the footer doesn't expand to the right as it should and nor does that brown bar behind the slider.
    Can be viewed here http://czav.co.uk/BritishTapas/MuseExport/
Please Muse Guru's if you can help that would be amazing.. This is for a client and I'm feeling very let down by the software at the moment..
There are definitely no hidden boxes anywhere off screen, and besides this doesn't answer why it's different on the iPad..

The published version of your Home page has a white rectangle just above the footer that's probably intended to be set to be 100% width, but isn't.

  • Muse website for short story publishers ... how to ....

Hi and thanks in advance ... I'm looking to create a muse website for short story authors so they can submit their stories and visitors to the site could comment on a story, vote or rate it, and retrieve past stories from an archive either by date, author, subject, category (fiction, non fiction, etc or randomly. I realize a back end system of some sort ( a CMS) is likely needed or some embed code from an external service of some sort.
Does anyone have any leads on a CMS or other such service that will do this?
    Again ... thanks!
    Gary

    Hi Gary
You can use Blogs or forums for achieving purpose, where users can upload their stories and viewers can rate/vote it. If you are using third party hosting platform then you would need to integrate using html.
These links will help you :
    http://html.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=243
    http://html5doctor.com/designing-a-blog-with-html5/
In case you are using Business Catalyst , then you would need to create Blog/Forum on BC end and then use module in Muse page, which will on publish show the blogs with rating, comments etc.

Hello is Dreamweaver program and muse  both used for making a website and putting it online ?

Muse might be all you need for now, but be prepared to keep using Muse for the life of your site.  It doesn't import well into other HTML Editors.  Keep in mind that Muse is not intended for advanced web sites. It can't support  dynamic data, shopping carts, blogs or content management systems. But it's fine for simple static HTML sites.

Hi, I wanted to know if I can embed a discussion forum into my muse website. Is there a widget I can buy for that? Thank you!

    Hi Nicolás,
If you are hosting the site on business catalyst then you integrate the forum's module in your muse site, just like how blogs are integrated. I don't have an tutorial video on forums integration in Muse, but the process outlined in the one below, which is for blogs, would be very similar to integrating the forums as well.

  • Need secure password protection for my Adobe Muse Website

Please assist me to the appropriate  Business Catalyst url to use the secure zone for my current website.
    John

I don’t understand what you are saying or implying Liam.   Just need to secure password protect,
    Create a secure zone
Specify the content to include in the secure area.
         1.     Select Site Manager > Secure Zones and click Add Secure Zone.
         2.     Enter a name for the secure zone, select a landing page, and click Save.
The landing page is where users land after logging into to the secure zone.
         3.     Specify the content to include in the secure zone by clicking the Secured Content tab and moving content from the left panel to the right.
         4.     Specify the persons with access to the secure zone by clicking Subscribers and adding the persons.
    To the top
Create a login page to access the secure area
         1.     Open the page in editing mode by selecting Site Manager > Pages, and clicking the page in the tree view.
         2.     Place the cursor in the content editor where you want to insert the login form.
         3.     In the Modules tab of the Toolbox found on the right of the editor, select Site Modules > Secure Zones, and then click Sign in Form.
         4.     Select your secure zone from the list and click Insert.
You can replace the form submit button with an image by clicking the Use Image Form Button.
         5.     Click Publish or Save Draft.
         6.
    To the top
Create a page to register new users
The third element of a secure zone is a registration page that lets visitors sign up to access the secure area.
         1.     Create a web form with username and password fields. See Create and insert a form. Note: Ensure the following:
    - Your web form has the username and password fields. If you remove these fields, the system will assign random password that is not emailed to the customer.
    -  Ensure that you select the secure zone in the Edit Properties screen of the web form.
         2.     Open the page to contain the registration form in editing mode. Select Site Manager > Pages and click the page in the tree view.
         3.     Place the cursor in the content editor where you want the form to appear in the page.
         4.     In the Modules tab of the Toolbox found on the right of the editor, select Web Forms.
         5.     Select the form you created for the secure zone form from the list and click Insert.Business Catalyst inserts the form's HTML into the page.
         6.     Click Publish or Save Draft.

  • Creating database for MUSE website using Business Catalyst.

We are building a membership site using Adobe MUSE. We are also using Business Catalyst to build the CRM customer database. We are using this as an alternative to MySQL since there is no direct connection between MySQL and MUSE. The only work around we know is to export the MUSE website to HTML. Import that HTML into Adobe DREAMWEAVER and the build the connections that way. This is time consuming and prone to errors as this does not create  a  flow in both system and data manipulation design.
We would like so home in creating, maintaining and performing searching on the database we create in Business Catalyst.

    Hi there,
As I mentioned, when a form is filled (Email is always required) then this the contact is added to the CRM.
You can not render the CRM on the front end as I think you will want. You would have to look to form web apps and display things that way.
Please note that Muse is a designer tool and has limited scope in terms of its functionality compared to building a full rich website, So you will reach certain walls with what your doing.

  • How can multiple users from different locations access my Muse website files to update them?

We're a team, and we need to be able to work together remotely.
How can I let another user (on the East Coast - I'm on the West coast) have access to my Muse website files so that they can work on them and make changes - but I can also work on them here?
I've already made them an Admin in the Manage section of the live Muse website that is hosted on Business Catalyst.
BTW, they also belong to Creative Cloud.
    Thanks!

You need to share your .muse file with this other person.
Muse does not currently support multiple users opening the same .muse file at the same time.
There's lots of options for sharing a file - you could copy it up to a company network server, or email the file back and forth, or use a filesharing service like Dropbox, SendThisFile, Adobe SendNow, or Creative cloud sync, among others.
Which one is right for you depends on the size of your file, how often you're sending the file back and forth, and personal preferences
Whatever you choose, it's important that you DO NOT have 2 users working on the same .muse file at the same time. This can cause corruption of your .muse file. I'd also recommend frequent backups of your .muse file, as you might find that one of you clobbers a change made by the other and you want to be able to go back to your old copy of your .muse file to copy/paste some content to your latest copy of your .muse file.

  • Google critical mobile usability errors with my muse website

Hi. I currently build my sites in adobe muse and export them to a third party to host. I use both google analytics and webmaster tools to keep track of any issues and guidelines that google finds. My sites are exported with both desktop versions and mobile versions of the site.
Recently I am getting notifications from google web tools telling me the sites I have created have critical mobile usability errors which effects how mobile users are able to experience the site. It also tells me these pages will not be seen as mobile friendly by google search and therefore will be displayed and ranked appropriately for smartphone users. Does google not recognise that a Muse website has a dedicated mobile version and how can I resolve this issue as I dont want this the effect my search results?
    Thanks for any responses.

I am having the same issue. Google reports the following:
    Usability error
    Pages with errors
    1
    Content not sized to viewport
    7
    2
    Fixed-width Viewport
    7
    3
    Touch elements too close
    7
    4
    Small font size
    7
One strange thing about this is that there are more than seven pages all tied to master pages, so if sizing were an issue I would expect all of the pages to have issue numbers 1 and 3.
