HTC calls from Mexico

For second time cannot call from Mexico on HTC6990LVW phones, in spite of Verizon saying it is all set up. First was in Cabo, now Cancun. Just get a message in Spanish. Any help?

Calling from Mexico to the US while on vacation.

Can you call from Mexico (San Jose del Cabo) to the US on the Canada/ Mexico plan without any extra charges? The wording on the plan description states calling "to" Canada or Mexico, not "from". Thought it was worth double checking. Maybe the global plan would be a better option.

There is an unlimited North America plan. The calls to Mexican landlines only are to Mexico city, Guadalahara, and Monterey If you are not calling those cities are calling cell phones you will need skype credit.

My skype to go number to call from Mexico to Franc...

I live in Mexico; I was given this Skype to go # in Guadalajara so I can call my parents in France, but I cannot use it from my registered cell phone in Mexico. I tried dialing every which way, with 0, 00, 01... before the 338XXXXXXX number, but no success. A message in spanish told me to send a SMS to 2877 and register my name, last name and birthdate which I did, but still, no luck. Did I pay $10 for nothing? I need help please...

Cannot make ANY outgoing calls from mexico

Whenever I try to connect to us # I get a message saying outgoing calls are barred. I tried to get help but *611 requires outgoing calls. I cannot reach verizon because I cannot place outgoing calls!!!! $!!@@! Please respond verizon. [email protected]
I never barred anything and there is no app setting to disable barring in the Samsung s5

Call them toll free from another phone. You should have got the Global Plan on your device before you went to Mexico.
If you have a device with a Sim tray, get a local carriers Sim and use their service. It will cost money in either case.

Does anyone know if it's currently possible to make a video call from an iPhone to an HTC Desire? Assuming Facetime won't work, maybe something like Skype would do it?

If you both have a skype app I dont see any reason you shouldnt be able to make a video call. You would need an iPhone 4 or 4s because of the forward facing camera.

Problems with my online number from Mexico City

My online number from Mexico 55 84 21 94 is not working correctly in Mexico City. When my family use a landline from MX to call me another person answer the phone call, but if they use a cellphone it works and I receive the phone call. That's really weird 'cause when I suscribed to the services I read that people can call me using a landline or a cellphone. Could you help me with this situation? Do I need another online number?

Please follow these Steps:
1. Only do Step 1 if you are on WIN7:
Stop Skype.
Be sure that Compatibility Mode is not enabled (right-click on Skype shortcut icon/launcher and select Properties >> Compatibility) - for Windows 7 users only.
Try to launch Skype.
2. If Step 1 fails or you are NOT using WIN7 do:
Open an Internet Explorer browser, and go to msn.com, what happens?
If it fails, Please do the instructions below. Using your Windows Control Panel, please do:
Internet Options -> Advanced Tab Please click the "Reset" button.
Then, Go to the Connections Tab.
Make sure that the only checkbox checked is "Automatically detect settings", then click the "OK" button.
Close any open Internet Explorer browser windows, open a new IE browser window and try msn.com again. What happens? If it works, please stop/start Skype What happens?
3. If Step 2 does NOT solve the problem:
Please install the normal version using the instructions below:
You can install the Current release by doing this from the top of this page:
Get Skype -> Windows -> Choose the regular release, please do NOT remove what you already have installed, simply, install over.
These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.

I have a skype unlimited international calls and skype to go AU number - but from what i have read i dont think it works if i'm calling from Indonesia to AUS or USA. Is this correct, and if so, If Ilargely want to be calling from Indonesia to the States or Oz that these two products are probably not worth it? If there is an alternative option, please advise. My nephew this morning bought a song from me in iTunes. He is in Mexico, but for some reason when I try to download/redeem the gift it doesn't work, saying the code is valid only for customers of mexico store

He can re-gift it to someone else who is using the Mexico iTunes store. He needs to sign into his iTunes account, and go to his Account Information page. Under Purchase History he will see a section called Gifts with an option to click on Manage Gifts.
He will see a list of gifts he has sent. If he clicks on the one he sent to you, since you have not redeemed it, it will show a box with the recipient name on it, and will let him change it to any other email address he wishes to:
The reason you cannot send gifts to recipients using other iTunes stores, is because the item sent may or may not exist in your store. Also, there are restrictions for content in many countries.

Blocking Texts but allow phone calls from specific number?

I have done some research but have not found what I'm looking for.
I would like to be able to block a specific number from sending me text messages but I would still like to be able to receive phone calls from them. It seems to be a unique situation. I'm not sure if it is something Verizon can handle or if it's available in a third party App? Thanks for any info you can provide. I have an HTC Droid Incredible if that matters.

I know that the free number blocking offered by Verizon Wireless will block both calls and texts from the blocked numbers.
There might be something in the Play Store, but I'm not aware of any specific applications.

Skype to go from Mexico on US phone

Can I call a US number from Mexico (Tijuana) from my US mobile phone (415 area code)?
It does not say explicitly if I can use my US based cell phone (that has expensive Intl rates) to call a US number on Skype To Go...

We associate our phone to Skype and that's why Skype identity us in the United States, and thus the Skype To Go number is a US number, beginning with our area code. Now imagine this scenario, if Skype To Go is available in China, you need to switch your associated phone number to a China number (beginning with +86) so that Skype can allocate a local number for you. There are two things I am concerned about.
1. Is there any restriction on the frequency of changing the associated phone number under the Skype policy?
2. Skype have to negotiate with Chinese phone carriers and even the government on the number assignment, which I think is one of the main obstacles for now.
And of course, I'd love to see the Skype To Go in China can be available as soon as possible, but in the near future, the most economical way would be a subscription using wifi as suggested, or a skype-to-skype channel.

Hello, I'm a first time poster. I will be traveling from my home country, USA, to Mexico for a short vacation and I would like to know if I understand correctly how friends / relatives from the U.S. can call me while I'm there using a Skype number. If I understand correctly, I can purchase a U.S. Skype number (say for 1 month) and give it to my friends / relatives and they can call that number to talk to me in Mexico. I understand that I would need to have Skype running on my android cell phone and have a wi fi connection in order to receive the call in Mexico. Am I correct? Thanks, Jack
