HTC Incredible Dials last number dialed too easily

The only thing I don't like about my HTC Incredible is the design of the phone dialing screen.  Is there a way to change the layout so it isn't so easy to re-dial the last number dialed?  The green phone button is on the bottom of the screen, right next to the "back" arrow, so if I hit the phone button in error, it dials the last number I dialed.  Any ideas?

A replacement dialer application, maybe? There are a couple of them in the Market. I am trying one now, but haven't decided yet if it is a keeper.

  • Sometimes when connecting to sync, my phone dials last number

when connecting to sync, my phone will dial the last number used. not butt dialing. keypad is locked and in a case.

If you check this support document, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 it might help as to why the phone keeps disconnecting. Has it been showing in iTunes?

  • How do I set my iPhone 4S to clear the last number dialed?

Every time I try to dial a new number, the last number I entered on the keypad is still there.  I have to delete it manually before I can call someone else.   My husband has an iPhone 3, and his keypad is always blank when he accesses it.  Is there a setting for this?   thanks!

maybe it's because I'm using the keypad to enter numbers into my contact list & not actually calling them.
    Correct.
"how do I enter numbers into my contact list?"
Select the Contact, press the Edit button, tap the desired number (work, mobile, home, etc) and enter the number.  Press Done when complete.

Trying to push the number and hold it for a few secs not only breaks the law and jepordizes my kids in the car . Here how it works ( or supposed to work. I push the button on my head set. It says " Say A Command ". I say Call speed dial 3. It repeats it back to me. I say Yes. It NOW dials the last number dialed. I never had this problem before the update.

Food for thought:  There is actually information released by the NTSB that even using "hands free" devices while driving have been proven to  distract drivers.
As for the Bluetooth commands: I've never used "speed dial" I usually say "Call Nicole Mobile" and it will connect still with no problems.
I just tried to use the voice command "call speed dial 1" and it did not recognize it.  It appears you must use the name now.

  • Shortcut to redial last number?

    Hey,
Is there a shortcut to redial the last number dialed?
I know (believe me, I know) the iPhone creates a REDIAL button on the screen when a call gets dropped by the ATT network.
I also know you can click the PHONE icon, click recent, then click the top non-red entry.
But most phones have a quickie to redial from anywhere. Just wonderin'
    Jim

I have heard a couple reports of people using Bluetooth headsets finding that hitting whatever combo of buttons causes a redial on most phones causes a redial on the iPhone....

  • Htc incredible 2 voice dial issues

I have the htc incredible 2 and I enjoy listening to music on it, however, I use head phones, so everyonce in a while it would switch over to a handset device and activate my voice dial and call the last number that is on my call list.. why? How can I stop this??

i just called  (on my landline)  800  922 0204  and the guy said there was not a problem in the area, I told him there most certainly was because I drove around for 5 miles and all as I had was a little 0 instead of the 3G and just 3 little bars...
I can't say that I was real confident in the guy and I think the problem is going to return because it is a connection issue out in the cyber world I 'think' , but anyway, he had me turn off wifi and turn it back on and it worked. I did the same thing before calling so I have no idea why it worked while he was on the phone. Before I called, I reset the entire phone, turned it off and on, did the wifi off/on that he did and then I decided it had to be an outage.  so if you have a landline you can call that number above on you may be able to get more of an answer that is not a random solution, because I think my solution is random and it will go down again.  there seems to be several links that are referring to outages tonight. He said there is outages in VA but not here, WRONG, i told him.
    good luck

  • Is there a URL to open phone app (not dial a number)?

    Hey Guys,
So I'm using Launch Center Pro (loving it, by the way) but I've come across a bit of an issue. I put in most of the numbers I dial into LCP to act as a speed dial and, as a result, relocated the phone app to the last page of my iPhone. However, if I get a voicemail and miss the notification I have to swipe all the way to the last page to open the app and access them. I'm wondering if there's a URL (like LCP uses, some variation of tel://) that allows me to simply open up the phone app or, if possible, open to the voicemail page? I noticed that when you do dial a number in LCP it opens the prompt window in LCP and not the dial screen in the phone app.
    Thanks for the help!

In my experience advising Logic users, depending upon the version of Logic and the model Mac you are using, if your Mac will boot from Snow Leopard, you can install Logic and all of its plug-ins in Snow Leopard and then upgrade to Mavericks.

  • Dialing a number that starts with "#".

Does anyone know how you dial a number that starts with a "#" symbol?
You can often call some places such as radio stations from your cell by just dialing # and then 4 digits - ie. #4567
    Thanks...Tommy
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    during the phone call,
if you want to type : #4567 you have to type the keys QSDFZ (as if the SYM key was locked)
if you want to type : A4567 you have to type the keys Alt-Q SDFZ (as if the SYM key was locked)

  • Dialing a number in the Phone Book from the phone

If I enter a phone number in the Phone Book in the MyVerizon webpage, how do I select that number to dial from my phone?

From your phone there is no way to make a call using the online contacts. You can use your computer to initiate the call. You can read more about. I have copied the instructions below that I have gotten from the user guide at http://www36.verizon.com/fiosvoice/userguide/User_Guide.pdf
To place a call using Calls and Messages Log:
    1. Sign-in to your
    Account Manager.
    2. Click on the name or telephone number of the person you would like to
call from the “Calls and Messages” Log.
    3. A pop-up window will appear. Select “Call Back” from the menu.
    4. A second pop-up window will appear asking if you want to dial that
specific number or enter a new number. Click “Dial”.
    5. Your phone line will ring once the call is placed. Pick up your phone and
wait for the person on the other end to pick up.
To place a call using your Phone Book:
    1. Sign-in to your
    Account Manager.
    2. Select “Phone Book”.
    3. Find the name of the person you would like to call.
    4. Click on the name and select “Call” from the drop-down menu.
    5. A second pop-up window will appear asking if you want to dial that
number or enter a new number. Click “Dial”.
    6. Your phone will ring once the call is placed. Pick up your handset and
wait for the person on the other end to pick up.
To place a call from your Account Manager icon:
    1. Sign-in to your
    Account Manager.
    2. Click the “Place a Call” icon.
    3. You can
    a. select a recently called number by using the dropdown menu (the
last five numbers recently dialed will be displayed) ,
    b. manually enter a number, or
    c. Click “Browse Phone Book” to select a number.
    4. Once the number is entered, click “Dial”.
    5. Your FiOS Digital Voice phone line will ring once the call is placed.
    6. Pick up your handset and wait for the person on the other end to pick
    up.

  • I have a brand new IPhone 4G.  For the life of me, I can't get the phone to ring. I have been in and out of my settings, have disengaged both silent and vibrate.  But when dialing my number from another phone, the call goes direclty into my voice mail

I have a brand new IPhone 4G.  I can't get it to ring.  I have gone into settings and disengaged vibrate, and have engaged the ring button on side of phone.  But everytime I dial my number from a different phone, it doesn't ring. Rather the call goes directly into my voice mailbox (ogm heard immediately); not even one ring! Please advise

Well, if it goes to VM immediately the call isn't reaching your phone, so no wonder it isn't ringing. Do you see a network displayed in the upper left of the screen? Have you activated the phone by connecting to a computer with the latest version of iTunes? Have you called your carrier to make sure they have provisioned it correctly?

  • Why can't I tell Siri "No" to stop dialing a wrong number? It's embarrassing to keep telling the same people over and over that I mistakenly dialed their number. Even if I yell "stop" or "no" it keeps dialing. Very frustrating.

Why can't I tell Siri "No" to stop dialing a wrong number? It's embarrassing to keep telling the same people over and over that I mistakenly dialed their number. Even if I yell "stop" or "no" it keeps dialing. Very frustrating. Even very simple names. And I talk on the phone for a living. Which is why I need to use Siri to save me time. I speak very clearly. Because of this problem, I've had to even add special code letters before people's names to increase the chances of Siri getting it right, which is only about 70% of the time.

That is not a feature of Siri. Submit your feedback requesting such a feature directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
Note that yelling at the phone does not improve the chances that Siri will understand you.
