HTC One M8 camera is very blurry. Reset settings to defaults and didn't fix. Think it may be a hardware issue, any thoughts?

Have seen a few other places that this might be related to the cover over the camera lense, surprising given HTC build quality but effectively ruins the camera.

Let's look further into this! Have you ensured there is nothing on the camera lens and removed any protectors in effort to resolve this?

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  If each of these has been tried and the issue still occurs, the only option left is to take to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
    Out of Warranty replacement is $199US.

    Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
    Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    After at least 30 minutes, if:
    The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
    The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
    Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

    See if the estimated size of your camera roll in your backup options agrees with what is reported in Settings>General>Usage>Photos.  If it's significantly different, try resetting your device (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  Then check again.

    I think where it is taking the most time is in the deleting from the print queue.  I have an HP desktop computer with 3gb ram on windows xp. even if all I am doing is printing a test page with no other programs started it takes for ever to print a page.

    Have you tried turning off bidirectional communication?
    Open your printers and faxes folder, right click the icon for your printer, and choose printer properties.
    Go to the ports tab, and un-check "Enable Bidirectional Communication".
    Restart your computer, and try printing to see if the issue has been resolved.

    My issue is exactly the same. I sent my phone back to HTC ( AT&T ) and they sent me a new one. This morning I road my KLR over to work and same thing, it's doing the same exact issue. Duo Rear camera seems like it cannot focus and the static noise is present. I originally thought it was the power adapter I had going to the bike, but the way it was acting I also contributed the Bike vibration as a variable.
    I also, have never had issue with mounting phones. I had an iPhone before, never an issue. I think HTC has a serious hardware defect with the Rear Camera. Go figure, "New phones," I hate being a Beta tester :-/

    Also when I plug the phone into itunes it only gives me the option to either restore or eject the phone. Up until today I never had any problems, I sync it regularly and all the software (inc itunes) is up to date. The last time I backed it up was about a month ago when I got the phone, (a replacement as my other iphone4 had loads of problems) so I don't want to have to restore it and lose everything off it!

    Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
    Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

    This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.  Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
    If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • I have an Ipad 4 and its been working fine up until the last week, and now it is very unreliable connecting to the internet and loading pages. It connects to the Wifi network without any problems, all my other devices have no problems at all. Any help?

    I have reset netwrok settings, ip addresses are all fine, restarted my router, but I may be missing something. Anyone else having similar problems?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app

        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Power Options Settings keep resetting back to default and system goes to sleep.

    Hi I have Windows Server 2012 Standard R2 installed on one of my servers, in which there is an issue with the power settings. In power options it keeps selecting the Balanced plan by default. Even if I manually change the power plan it still keeps resetting
    back to the default Balanced plan which in turn puts the System to sleep after 4 hours. Please let me know if there is a way to resolve this issue. I have even tried using powercfg -SETACTIVE from command prompt by giving the appropriate Power Scheme
    GUID. But it didn't work either. Anyone please help me with this issue. Thanks in advance.

    Again, this is something outside the bounds of Windows Server.  Windows Server does not do that.  I looked at default installations of both physical and virtual servers and there is nothing there to cause a sleep or power off.
    In fact, the only real power setting I see in the Balanced power plan is to turn off the display after x amount of time.
    Do you have power savings enabled on your NIC card?  Is there some setting in VMware?

  • The tilt on my ipad 2 has stopped working, already reset back to default and loaded 6.1, still not working

    Has anyone any ideas other than the Apple shop to fix the tilt issue, reset back to factory default, still not working, changed the locking position, and more or less given up. Seen lost of notices around Temple Run and how this seems to happen after installing that particular app.

    You have indicated you did a restore with no affect. You don't mention specifically if it is not working with multiple applications or not. I have had one or two apps that quit recognizing the tilt. If it is just one or two apps, delete and re-download/install those apps. If it is with all apps, then you are indeed looking at a trip to Apple to get it fixed. Or you can contact them through one of the options here: http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

  • Chino Hills, CA - FIOS is very slow - started 2 weeks ago and still not fixed.

    In Chino Hills, CA, FIOS used to be excellent. For the past 2 weeks it has been a dog. It's like dial-up. Just look at my trace route below. Do you think that's acceptable? I don't know what ..... verizon-gni.net is but seems to be the culprit. After that ... ALTER.NET is also slow.  It's like going back to the stone age for me.  Can anyone who knows what's going on pls help. i contacted FIOS support, opened a ticket.  I've been asked to reset my router, even bypass the router and connect my PC directly to the wall outlet and I still get the same problem. My friend in the same city a few miles away has the EXACT same problem so it's my router nor her router. Something is terribly wrong but I can't get straight answers from FIOS tech. My connection is like my TimeWarner cable connection before - Slow and unpredictable. So much for fiber optic... I think i actually have twisted pair dial-up the way this is going!!!
