HTC Rezound 4G connectivity issues

anybody having issues with 4G connectivity, I have unlimited plan, is Verizon throttling my data? happening in the last week, very annoying. Can I request a discount on my bill?

Hello JBLo
I'm sorry to hear your having connectivity issues with your rezound. Does this happen everywhere or at one specific location? Are you losing all data connections? Did this start after an application was downloaded? Please power the rezound in safe mode and retest. Here's a link for safe mode: http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=48353
Verizon wireless does not throttle data. On our 3G network we do use network optimization. Here's a link that explains network optimization: http://support.verizonwireless.com/information/data_disclosure.html
Please let me know if the issue happens in safe mode.
Thank you

I have communicated with HTC and Verizon over an issue I am having with all sounds coming through Rezound speaker and my Jawbone Era at the sametime while paired and connected. While discussing this issue with HTC the final resolve was them telling me there is nothing more they can do for me at level 2 Tech Support that it was being refered to development. I was also told to contact as many other people that have this issue and have them contact HTC Support and have them report this issue to them with enough people contacting them about this issue maybe development with put out an update for this issue. My suggestion is contact by both website email and by Phone. Make it happen people Don't Be Nice when presenting this issue make it urgent.

        Hi there mlw9911!
How bizarre. Good thing this VZW agent is on the job and ready to get to the bottom of the case of the phantom keyboard. So, let's work on this together.
Now, you've done a great job troubleshooting thus far and I appreciate that. With that said, we need to delve deeper in the device. Given that this is an issue with a missing keyboard, here's what I recommend: go to settings > applications > manage applications > all > locate the keyboard application > clear cache and force close. Then reboot your device and give it a go. Please let me know the results.

  • | HTC Rezound | - connect to PC help, sync with university email + music

    Hello all and welcome me,
This is my first post here, hopefully not my last, however I came here with a problem that I would most utterly love to solve. For Christmas I got a new phone, the HTC rezound which I choose over the iphone 4s.  Now I finally got myself back to my apartment where my Windows desktop computer is and installed HTC sync.  probably 10 minutes ago I connected it for the first time to my computer, I decided to go with window's Auto Run default to install the drivers, instead of the view files options.  I got an option to install newer software, 'would you like to update your phone to newer software so you can connect it to your computer.'  Now this sounded good it installed it then now on the window with no x in the corner (aka no option to close the window) which has the Verizion and HTC logo, it reads word for word
"Please turn on Internet Connection Mode from the devices setting and wait, it may take few seconds.
Setting -> Wireless & networks -> Internet Connection Mode"
with a [ Yes ] button that i am currently unable to click until i have done so.
When I go and do this options its giving me some [Cow manure] about having to pay for a tethering options for $20 a month (and yes there is a gramatical error on this window "it may take few seconds" is the word for word). This is where I am and I am too afraid to disconnect my phone in fear of messing up something.  And HTC Sync program still reads "no device connected"
My Goal, is to put a couple of albums i have on the phone as well as play around with Syncing my university email account which uses a microsoft outlook server. Now I am going to help a friend move a new tv into his apartment and I will check back in say 30-40 minutes.  Maybe this is a simple problem that has a solution right under my nose but I have no clue, so any input/suggestions/experience would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Chris

Update, I think I solved it, however I did unplug it and had to close some processes and such. However there is still a grammatical error which deeply disappoints me.... just kidding

  • HTC Rezound issues

I got an HTC rezound replacement after having to replace BOTH the old phone and the battery.
Now the new one, can not get a charge, or come back on. The phone's screen was already bad when I got it, I know it's not a battery issue, but I am getting a little frustrated that this new one will keep a 7hour battery life, but then shut off randomly and not come on at all, even when I try the take out everything including the SIM card and just plugging in the phone itself method. I can't seem to get it to factory reset, I've tried. I've switched the network, turned off fast boot and sleep mode.
The thing is--it will turn on four hours after I've toyed with it and even then turn on with less that 30% battery. I do not know if to call Verizon technical support and just get them to send me another replacement for this one that I haven't even had for two full weeks.

I have been having a similar problem with my Rezound where it will not turn on after a random shut down. Received some advice from a family member working for a company that does some kind of testing for Google Inc.
She explained to me if the phone is still stock "NOT ROOTED" more than likely one of the user apps from the Google Play Market that was released from a private developer/themer may have a issue with it. If it remains running in the background after closing the app, it could be accessing certain device functions such as internal/external sdcard and or one or more of the system partitions on the phone. She told me to unplug the phone from the A/C charger, pull battery external sdcard and sim card. Then use your computer or laptop to check the external sdcard from phone, for errors, then do a Disk Defrag if not for anything to clean up the card by straitening out all the data, "You know what I mean".... After that, re-insert the sdcard, sim card and battery "but DO NOT plug in the charger" Let phone sit for a few seconds then push the power button. She told me not to hold the power button down till phone boots, but to just press it and let go. Phone should boot up in a a few seconds. When the lock screen appears let the phone settle for a minute or two before heading to your home screen. Then atempt to do a Factory Data Reset. Once phone re-boots back up, again let it settle first. Start from scratch downloading your apps from the market "NOT BACKED UP APPS" and only trusted apps you know are safe and bug free. If you use a app backup program ie: Titanium Backup or one of the non rooted apps, re do the backup app process again to. Some people say they still get some lag of performance and experience random shut downs if they don't wait first at the lock screen for a minute or two allowing startup apps to finish loading and settle. My self, that was only true if my phone was rooted and flashing a new rom and/or kernel.

  • Does the htc rezound connect to the tv like the new Razr does?

Can anyone tell me if the htc rezound has anything similar to the mirror view the razr has?

    Hi Spaz,
demmo86rt is correct (thank you!). A MHL to HDMI Converter Kit will do the trick. While currently out of stock, you can check this LINK for more information on this converter kit and future availability.

  • Rezounds many technical issues

I have had my HTC Rezound for right at a year.  I have replaced the SIM card twice, had the phone replaced once (in September 2012) and now it's spazing again.  I now have issues where the screen will come up as a split duplicate screen, or it will go all fuzzy like it can't figure out what it should be displaying.  When you press the power button to turn off the screen and press it again to bring it back up it clears it.  Also, the volume button will no longer change the ringer volume, it will only change the media volume.  I shut it off to reboot it and I get the message that this phone needs a SIM card to work (which it has) and then it goes away and finishes the boot process.  I have not downloaded any new apps in over a month.  My phone is in an Otterbox case and I'm careful with it....can someone please tell me if you are having the same problems and if I can fix it??

Kiwichik, we don't want your phone to keep spazzing out and getting fuzzy! Let's see what's going on. First, I would not recommend taking your phone apart while still under warranty, as it would void the warranty. Does the screen turn fuzzy after using any certain tasks or actions? Do you have an antivirus application installed? If so, please uninstall. When you adjust the ringer volume, are you on the main screen? Please boot the phone into safe mode http://bit.ly/UveVwG to see if these issues persist. If not, then it may be one of the apps that were previously installed. If the issue persists, I recommend completing a factory reset http://bit.ly/Q166KZ.
Let me know if you're still having problems.

  • Defective HTC Rezounds. Very FRUSTRATING!!!!!

On December 25th, 2011 my mother bought me the HTC Rezound because I had been asking for it for the past month, ever since my HTC Thunderbolt's screen got cracked. When I got it I was very happy with it but then I dropped it and that screen cracked also and that's when all of the problems started. I dropped it in January and it kept working fine but then in February it started malfunctioning and shutting off and on and my mom (who works for Verizon) had to keep resetting it. So finally, after about a week of me complaining she bought me a new one. I've had that one for not even a month and it is doing the same thing the first one is doing. When it happened the first time I thought it was because of me dropping it and cracking the screen but now I just want to get my thunderbolt back and I feel that Verizon should either give me back the thunderbolt or reimburse my mother because this is ridiculous.

This reply was moved to be reply to OP:
Sorry to hear about all your problems!  I too am very frustrated and have really reached my limit with this situation!  This is why I will not try a used phone.  There are reports all over the internet of people continuing to experience the same problems after getting another used device.  I really am convinced that while there are a few hardware issues with the phone and or battery the primary issues with this phone are a combination of the firmware, the update and the network.  My main unacceptable problem is the constant boot-looping. While I now know the steps to get around it without having to do a factory reset, this is something that I have now reached a point where I am no longer willing to continue in this way!!  I am now having audio issues which I had no problem with before the update.  This is just so crazy since the update was supposedly to resolve audio issues!!  I never had any to begin with!!
We need to see about getting the press to cover this and bring some attention and outside pressure to bear. I am also looking for other routes, legal and through government agencies, to try to get a resolution and satisfaction.  HTC and Verizon are not taking any responsibility for these problems!  I refuse to be stuck in this situation for the next 2 years after paying $300 just 2 months ago!!!  If anyone has any contacts with the technical press or any ideas or suggestions please contact me.

  • HTC Rezound with no internet

    Hello.
I have an HTC Rezound that will not access the internet.  I have gone through and made sure that all the settings are correct as well as pulling the battery and the sim card.  I have full bars.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

        Hello bjbrooks,
Oh my! I know the importance of being able to connect to the internet on your phone. I appreciate that you've gone through the settings on your phone and have included a few more steps to try.
As demmo86rt mentioned, data connection for the HTC Rezound is managed by the 4G LTE sim card. A great step to try, would be to remove the sim card for 30 seconds: http://bit.ly/PBwegi.
If you are using a widget to toggle mobile data on/off - try this. Turn off mobile data from the widget. Then turn on mobile data from Settings->Wireless & networks->Mobile Network.
Ultimately, a Factory Data Reset would be the final step to take for restoring data connections: http://bit.ly/wLmjGs. Please be sure to back up your contact information, applications, and Google account information, first.
I trust this information will prove helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions.
    Thank you,

  • HTC Rezound problems

Bought HTC Rezound in May--had intrnet connection for 3 hrs yesterday. Should've kept my BlackBerry. Any ideas?

Lemme guess.....4G icon dissapears and no internet.
Yeah many threads here on the "Verizon Support Forum" and no answers except for the standard: "were sorry for your trouble , try running in safde mode and delete all the apps thats not ours" Or some other copy and paste responce.
I'm a little frustrated to. We need to call in to support since this forum is a dead end. Many Many threads on this as being the major problem with the Rezound in the last 2 months and Verizon says nothing.

  • HTC Rezound stuck in a boot-loop

Hi all. I have a HTC Rezound that was purchased from Verizon six months ago, and I just started having a big problem with it. The phone is stock and locked, and I was/am up-to-date with the latest ota update. Yesterday, I tried turning on the WiFi, and it would start to scan and then immediately disconnect. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, so I just turned on 4G and went about my day. I had the same issue today, however, so I decided to reboot my phone. When I did, it brought up the white and green HTC screen for a few seconds, and then proceeded to reboot - over and over again. I went through the online support here at verizonwireless.com, and it was suggested that I do a factory reset. I couldn't get into the OS, so I used HBOOT and completed the factory reset. It is still rebooting repeatedly. Any suggestions? Does it sound like this might be a hardware issue that would be covered by manufacturer warranty? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Do the below procedure
    1.  take off the back cover
    2.  take out the battery
    3.  remove the 4G SIM card  (and leave it out)
    4.  put the battery back in
    5.  turn on the phone (it should boot fine, with the exception of it saying there is no SIM card inserted…this is fine, just ignore this for now)
    6.  from the homescreen…hit menu > settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > network mode > select LTE/CDMA
    7.  turn off the phone
    8.  take off the back cover
    9.  take out the battery
    10.  re-insert the 4G SIM card
    11.  put the battery back in
    12.  turn on the phone
This is what I did to fix my bootlooping problem with my Rezound. Let me know if this works for you also. There are some other tricks, but you first have to stop the constant bootlooping.

  • HTC weather location fix for HTC Rezound ?

New phone, HTC Rezound, can't get my location under the weather to show where I am.  It continually says "current location." I have read several posts on similiar issues, done all that was recommended from syncing everything to checking GPS, which are all working perfectly.  I down loaded Weather Bug and it picks up my correct location with no issue.  Any suggestions on how to get my location to say where I am?

        Crvt,
Thanks for the info! It sounds like you have done some fantastic troubleshooting so far, thanks for your time and patience. Its important to have a properly working phone, so lets get this resolved. Try resetting the application called "Weather". Go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>click on weather>clear cache & force close. Go back to the main screen, and see if the device can now determine where you are  located. Keep me posted.

  • HP PhotoSmart 7510 suddenly has severe connectivity issues

I have a HP PhotoSmart 7510 printer since about 2 months. Initial setup worked like a charm and the printer has been working pretty much perfectly for the last 2 months. Wireless printing, scanning and internet access on the printer (e.g. for Facebook photos) all worked. Just from time to time i would get the occasional (mildly annoying) message on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable" but it usually worked itself out and whenever I needed it to work, it did work.
But since a few days ago, it has some severe connectivity issues. I didn't change any settings on the printer, router or computer - the issues just started appearing by themselves. I startet getting much more frequent messages on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable". I noticed I couldn't print anymore, and restarting computer, printer and/or router didn't help at all. The only thing so far i managed to print wirelessly since the problems started were the first 5 pixel rows of an image I tried to print, the rest didn't transmit.
It seems the printer still connects to the WLAN but printing and scanning no longer work, and whenever I try to access a web service on the printer (like Facebook) it says it has no internet connection, even though the WLAN light is lit up (not blinking) and all the wireless status reports say "congratulations, no problems found" and display IPs etc. just like normal.
I looked at the threads "PhotoSmart 7510 connects to router, but not to the web.", "Wireless printer (HP Photosmart 7510) not connecting to network" and "Photosmart 7510 won't connect to Web Services" but they weren't a big help. Activating EWS didn't work because even though the printer showed its IP address to be 192.168.1.3, when I entered this in my web browser it didn't find the printers configuration page.
I tried the following steps from one of the threads:
    1. Restore the Network defaults
    2. Unplug the printers power cord while it is still on. Leave it unplugged and walk to the router.
    3. While the router is still on, unplug the power cord from the router, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router. Once plugged back in the router should power on automatically.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
    5. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
    6. Try enabling Web Services.
I followed these steps exactly. Interestingly, even though I had done step 1 and restored the network settings to factory defaults, after turning back on, the printer somehow still had its old settings saved and reconnected to the network.
It seemed to have fixed the problem, the printer finally had internet access again (Facebook app showed my photos) and scan to computer found my PC. But after just about 3 minutes, the printer had lost its internet connectivity again. When opening the Facebook app, it displayed the same error message it did before. And printing no longer worked as well.
So, what is wrong with this printer?! It has the newest software update by the way (I checked during the 3 minutes it had internet access.) My computer is a HP Windows 7 x64 machine (EliteBook 6930p) and the router I'm using is a Netgear WNDR3700.
I specifically bought this printer for my studies at university. In one week i have my exams and in order to study I REALLY need to be able to print some of my course materials! So any help as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated. Or do you think this is a case for a warranty replacement, considering the printer's really strange and error-prone behavior?
    Thanks a lot!

I can assure you that it is not a router issue.  It appears to me that it is a driver compatibility with Windows OS.  After trying to get to the bottom of this since my Photosmart 7525 was new and reading just about every forum and blog, I have come to the conclusion that the issue must be related to the HP driver itself.
The issue does not seem to affect any Mac systems, and from one forum someone was able to fix it by downloading new drivers compatible with 64-bit systems (which seem to not be affected by the glitch).  But that leaves us 32-bit people stuck with the current driver which does not work.
The printer is connected with good signal to the wireless router (no matter who's router it is and what configuration is made).  The printer can be pinged from the router and any computer on the network which is not currently being affected by this issue.  However, the affected computer fails pings by either request timed out, or destination host unreachable.  Pings are successful from the affected computer to any other device on the network.  The only way to recover (at least for a few days) is to reboot the affected computer.
Also, from the display on the 7525, the network tests pass without issue.  I can also download and print content from the internet with no issues.
Please do a quick google search of this issue and you will see several THOUSAND entries of people with the same request.  This is a serious issue that people are having and everything is pointing to an HP problem (not routers, improper installation of software or drivers, etc...).  I agree with several other customers that HP should be on the hook for this fix.  I will give it another couple weeks, then back to the store for a reliable unit from another competitor (Canon, Lexmark, etc..)
Thank you in advance for escalating this issue to product engineering,
    S. Hunn

  • Connection doctor and connection issues

I have nothing blocking  my internet connection, however mail is a nightmare for me. I continually receive connection issues via the connection doctor for imaps, pops, and icloud.
Are my settings wrong? I have checked with each of the settings and they are set per instructions provided. Some are google, some yahoo, icloud, etc.
This is really annoying and I could really use some help.
Here is a typical message: Could not connect to this Google IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the 'Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account Preference"
I have done all of this and am still having troubles.
I am also receiving SMTP connection issues - "Trying to log into this SMTP account failed. Verufy that the username and password are correct."
I have checked and all are correct. Even more confusing, these issues are not present all the time - however I have not changed anything between when times are good and bad.
Sigh - I hope someone has an idea to help me out.
Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

  • Excel ODBC Connection Issues

I'm having some issues importing external data from an Oracle 9i database.
    Here is what is happening:
I am initially able to import data from the table I want to into Excel.
I do this through "Data -> Import External Data -> New Database Query" where I have my .ORA data source. I'm able to log in using my user and password and import the table. My problems come after I import this first set of data.
If I try to "Edit Query…" I get an error box that says "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".
If I try to "Refresh Data" I get two error boxes. The first is just: "[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]" and the next says: "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed". It then prompts me for the User name and password of the DB I'm connecting and after I enter the information, I get the same two error messages.
Also, if I attempt to establish another connection following the "Data -> Import External Data…" steps I run into a different problem. Upon entering the information for the User Name and password prompt I get two error messages. One says "!" and the next box says "Couldn't read this file". Once I click "OK" in those boxes, the Microsoft Query window automatically opens with nothing in it.
I can't seem to figure out why I can initially pull down data and then cannot succeed afterwards. I'm unable to connect to the DB I have through Excel until I completely closed all Microsoft Excel instances.
I also use this data source in Microsoft Access without any problems.
    My Excel version is 2003.
I'm using Oracle Drivers I'm using are from an "Instant Client" package.
Any thoughts why I'm having these connections issues?
    Thanks in advance.

    This issue is closed.
    The solution was:
"Data -> Import External Data -> Import Data"
Select "New Source" and select the "Oracle" data source and filled in the appropriate information. This was similar to the database query but it actually works.

  • My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. So someone please tell me what can I do next to prevent the problem? Am I doing something wrong maybe?

    Hi Kevin,
I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input.  I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy.  I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?
    Nathan.
