Wenn ich meine html-Dateien mit Acrobat Pro (Version 8) in pdf-Dateien umwandle, dann werden die
Medien-Dateien (Filme) nicht mit der pdf-Datei gespeichert. Vermutung: Es wird nur die Referenz
abgespeichert. Ergebnis: Die pdf-Datei läuft nicht auf dem "ez Pdf-Reader" (APP) meines Tablets.
Erst dann, wenn ich den Film lösche und anschließend neu in Acrobat einfüge, wird die Filmdatei
einwandfrei abgespeichert, so dass der ez PDF-Reader dann korrekt arbeiten kann.
Fragen:
1. Ist die Software Acrobat Pro (V. 8) nicht in der Lage, statt der Referenz die originale Filmdatei
"einzubauen"? Oder gibt es eine Einstellung dazu, die ich noch nicht gefunden habe?
2. Können die neueren Versionen das leisten? Wenn ja - welche?

Warum sollte das automatisch gehen? Rein schon von Funktion und Logik ist es eben was ganz anderes, als einen Video-Datei einzufügen. Alles, was im Web mit Filmen zu tun hat, erfordert Flash Player, läuft über Skripte, wird gestreamt, teilweise verschlüsselt, erfordert, auf den Webseiten angemeldet zu sein und sonstiges Gedöns und dein schickes "Videofenster" ist nun mal nix weiter als ein Rechteck mit externem Inhalt. Mal von den technischen Dingen abgesehen, wird Acrobat um's Verrecken nix tun, was Urheberrechtsprobleme verursachen könnte und noch dazu die Dateigrößen explodieren läßt. Und, naja, selbst wen nes ginge, eine Uraltversion zu verwenden hilft sicher nicht, mit neuer kodierten Formaten umzugehen. Gottseidank ist das aber irrelevant, weil auch neuere Acrobat-Versionen da nix anders machen. Es geht einfach nicht so, wie du dir das vielelicht vorstellst.

I am new to SFP. So, please tell me how to create Smart Forms for PDF.
I already have an SAP standard form of Customer Invoice in this format (SFP) and I need to change the layout and add some additional fields in it as well.

How do I get a Stable pdf to Google Documents?

i am posting a pdf created in Mac Pages to Google Documents and the font is getting changed. Is there a way to open this document in my new version of Acrobat Pro and save it out so that the font won't change?

MySql = a server-side database.

Search for text in PDF binary

Hello experts,
by using a SAP BI tool we generate reports in File format. SAP standard do some generating and give back an internal table with filename and file content in binary form.
Now we would like to search in this PDF binary for an special text or string to use them for changing filename.
Is there any way to do that? Every idea and hint is welcome.

Based on your posting it sounds a bit like you're doing ABAP processing. However, I'll ignore that for now and just say that in the Java environment I have had good experience with the Java Library [iText PDF|http://itextpdf.com/]. I'm not sure what SAP offers in that area, but they must have something, because [TREX|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/a4/929d4206b70931e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] "understands" PDF (though that doesn't mean that you have a nice API for parsing PDFs).
You probably investigated this already, but I'd take a look at possibilities to hook in before (or at the time) the PDF gets generated (might be easier to craft and export a filename there). Thanks to the [enhancement framework|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/94/9cdc40132a8531e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] you usually have quite a few ways to get things done...
Note that even if you're able to read a PDF, it doesn't necessarily mean that you can parse it the way you want. A silly example would be scanned pages, where the page is stored as an image and at best the scanner software runs some OCR (with possibly buggy results) to provide capabilities for searching the PDF. In your case that's probably not an issue, but still the question might be if the information you're looking at is structured enough to get it back...

Search for text in PDF by VBA with only Adobe Reader installed

My problem is widely known and frequenty posted, for instance:
"Can anyone help me to open and search for a specific text string in a PDF document, return a true or false indicator (and nothing else)?"
The answers mostly refer to and include
Set gApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
which, as I understand, works only with a certain level of Adobe Acrobat being installed.
My question now:
I want to give this type of functionality (via an MSAccess Form, i.e. populate a ComboBox with PDF filenames which answer YES to certain text occurences) to - say 20 - users in my company who have Adobe Reader 9.1 installed and not more.
Bying this number of Adobe Acrobat licenses for just this purpose would be a heavy overkill which I just can't afford.
Any suggestions? many thanks in advance.

I need to convert the document type HTM to PDF then send it thru e-mail as attachment, is there any FM for this?
I'm looking at this FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF, but i think it requires a spool id and the program is required to run in foreground. Any idea?

Module Development using PCK

I have to develop a module for the file adapter. I have installed the PCK (Partner Connectivity Kit) and the related development environment. Batch command in FileAdapter

Till yesterday the batch command in file adapter working fine, from today none of the batch commands in file adapter are not working. Please suggest the solution?

How difficult can BT make it to find the cost of a...

I wanted to find out how much it was going to cost me to phone my garage, which has a number 08433 08 02 86.
How difficult can that be? Google does not know. BT search does not know. ON about my 5th attempt I found a link that took me to the BT pricing download section. There must be a hundred downloadable zip files. The one I tried had 1001 (yes, one thousand and one) files in it - htm and pdf. I had to guess as they had names like FrameworkIMP8745874574.htm
Could not find anything that made any sense, so I went back to searching the web site..
I thought I finally had a solution, which linked me to http://www.bt.com/pricing/current/Call_Charges_boo/1632_d0e5.htm#1632-d0e5 which is a page where I had to go to more pages. In the end, it required me to look up 3 different pages to find out how much a call to a number 08433 08 02 86 would actually cost.
Do you realise just how many different tariffs there are for all of the different numbers? I had thought 084 was a local number, but it seems 08 is just a non-geographic and specialist code that could cost almost anything. The price lists are updated constantly, so if you did download a copy, it would be out of date very soon.
I am appalled that BT don't have a quick way of searching for the cost of a call. Clearly they can do it very quickly in the billing software. Why do they make it so difficult to find the information for a normal residential user? Is this not what databases are for? Surely I should be able to go to a page that allows me to ask the question "How much will it cost me to call the following number?"

That is nearly how I eventually found it. But it was far from easy to find, and it is extremely difficult to use.
Initially I found http://www.bt.com/pricing/index.htm but for goodness sake, it is just incomprehensible at first sight, and second.
To find 08 numbers other than 0845 and 0870, you have to scroll down to

Setting format for spool requests in background jobs, for emails

Hi,
Don't know if this is the correct forum, but I'll give it a go (will appricate info regarding what forum is applicable otherwise.)
For some periodical background jobs that we run in ECC, we have in the job set up that a mail group of people to receives the spool request via mail. Vi have used this a few years now. When we recently uppgraded from R/3 to ECC, the format of the spool request sent as mail attachment changed from .txt to .htm. This is however not the problem for us.
We now have a scenario with a daily mail report, i.e. delivered as an attachment (htm-format) in our email system (Lotus Notes).
So far so good, and nothing really new about this, except the changed format.
What the users want is to print this report. It can be done, but it is a wide report, so it cuts the report in three pieces, as there is no automatic sizing to landscape printout and/our automatic sizing to one page. The best solution would be if it automatically was set up to landscape + automatically fit page size. Which format (.txt .htm .xls .pdf...) we receive the file in, is not really important, as long as we can print it directly without having to reformat it. Now we have to save the file to excel manually after we receive it, and then format the excel sheet. Just for printout purpose, so it is annoying work.
Any solution available? (preferrably without coding)

If you are using FM REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY to print your ALV Report it has got a paramter IS_PRINT in which you can pass your format type. Below is the field name where you have to pass your format type.

How to import /export bookmarks in Firefox for Mac

I wanted to export my bookmarks in Firefox for Mac, in htm or pdf format. Cant find any command for that. Nor any import from htm or pdf. Nor can I list all my bookmarks aplhabetically ; I have lots of bookmarks in different folders and I want to see all these bookmarks listed with no folders.

In Firefox for OS X, you can export your Bookmarks to HTML via the Bookmarks dialouge window.
Open your Bookmarks dialouge via the Menu bar: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks.

Transport Question

Can someone explain me TRansport using File system please ?. I have some links to other postings on this subject.
My Q is
We will export XI objects at Software Component Version level. When you import the same in Target IR, Do we have to create Software component in SLD before we do import?. How does it work?. Can someone please explain. We have brand new system and I need to transport from Dev to QA and then to Prod eventually. So right now there are no Software components defined in QA. we have centalized SLD and Dev,QA and PROD on one single SLD.

To my knowledge Since centalized SLD for Dev,QA and PROD, So no need to create Software component in SLD before importing to the target IR of QA (Dev to QA transport).
