HTML animation in MSO

Whit last update, if i put HTML animation (autoplay) in State2 of a MSO, while State1 is a button to State2,
the animation run with problem... no fade effect, no smooth movement...
any suggest ?

had the same problem with some funky javascript .. changed everything to jquery (minimal version) and it worked nicely.

HTML animation effects doesn't work after last update

After last update my html animation that have different effects with different time: fade, translate, rotation, scale, ecc... plays but some effects doesn't play.
Various animated png in html project appears immediatly without shows transitions or deformations.
I have made html animation with Motion Composer that have time curve for each effect.. and all work fine with previous dps desktop tools...
I don't use Hedge because folios with hedge animation is mooooooooore large than folios with motion composer animation.
A single complex animation (10 .png(1024x768) with multipe effects fo each) made with composer produce a 1MB folio...
The same animation made with Hedge produce more the 100MB folio.
why new version of dps don't show my html anim correctly ? I hope adobe correct this proble.

HTML animation in a Folio flashes once & lightens the page briefly as the an animation starts

Hi
When an HTML animation plays in a folio page on the iPad the animation flashes lighter briefly as the animation starts.
Is there a way to stop this happening?

Issue with autoplay HTML animation

Hi guys, I have some troubles with HTML animation when preview my content on adobe viewer. Maybe you know how to fix this...
My Folio contains 1 atricle with 5 pages. The first page is a static one, the second one - page with animation that should be shown when that page is displayed (autoplay). the third and fourth ones - also auto play animation, the last - static page.
Seems that next page is cached when we preview the page in adobe viewer, so when we navigate directly to the second page that contains animation - the animation on the page is partially played, so we can see only the rest of animation or just the end point of animation. Navigate to the next page - the same issue. But when we navigate from first page to the third - we can see animation from the beginning.
How this issue can be resolved?

SOLVED html animation problem with v25

My Html animation return to work also in version 25.
After many modify i found the problem:
The cover preview loaded in folio builder for portrait and landscape layout was the same that i used in a Html animation (in asset folder)
I built a folio without cover preview and all work again.

Hello! Happy New Year to you too.
I am not sure I understand your question properly.
If you are making this animation for a wesite, you can include your files into an iFrame and upload all your files to your website server.
For example add this to your html page:
<iframe src="http://www.yourSiteName.com/folderName/index.html" style="width: 100%; height: 400px; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 30px;"></iframe>
Note: change the sizes, change your site name, folder name and html edge file name.
If you want to just have your composition on one page by itself, then just add the folder to the root area of your server and then you can send the link by email for people to see it directly on the web. You do not need to put it in an iFrame for this. Just email the web address - so for example:
http://www.yourSiteName.com/folderName/index.html
Let me know if I understood properly and if not please give us a clear description of what you want to do.

Html animation stopped working?

I created an html animation (Indesign-Wallaby) and it was working great. It is a headline that slides in, nothing fancy.
I opened the file today on the ipad and instead of the animation sliding in, it just appears. I tested the html in my browser and it is working fine. I relinked to the html file, but it still isn't working correctly?
Any ideas?

Several people are reporting erratic behavior with HTML in articles. I'll look into this and let you know what I find out.

Is it possible to have a article in pdf format but have the HTML animation from Adobe edge appear in better resolution?
Currently to get the Animation to appear with transparent background I have to build the article as a JPG, PNG article.
Is this right?

u can have html animation inside pdf folio. Note web content overlays are not resampled which means when u zoom in ur animation will look pixelated.

Does not matter as long as the original edge animation comes with transparent background.

Export indesign with html animation

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to include or link an html animation I've realised with Edge in an Indesign presentation.
I tried to create a button that links to the html file, and export it as an interactive pdf, but then it will work on my pc only..... do you know how I can solve this issue?
Ideally I'd like to see the animation within the pdf (now it will open in the browser), but most importantly I need to be able to share the whole package!
Any solution will be really welcome!

Your best bet would be to host the file on a web server and link to it there. If you don't have access to such space, free hosting isn't that hard to find. Google "free file hosting."

The HTML Animation in the Oct'14 release

The HTML Animation in the Oct'14 release video looked great. But it did not work for my App Folio in InDesign. Is this feature for epubs only or can it be used in Folios ? Please help.

I am using Animation panel within ID. I know it used to export the animations as flash files.
I watched this video What's New in the October 2014 Update to Adobe InDesign CC - YouTube , and at about 9.00 minutes in the video it is mentioned that new Animation functionality in ID is HTML based, the demo was for an epub. But I thought it would also work for Folios. But it did not . Do you think it should work for a Folio as well ?

HTML animation in DPS?

I have a problem with an .html file that I've created for one of my folios.
I've put the files on our webserver and it works without problems in my Safari browser, also on my iPhone there are no problems.

When I insert this link into my article (Overlay Creator panel > Webcontent) it works fine to.
But when I insert it as a file, it does not show the background images. You only see a thin border, but not the image.
Can you tell me why this doesn't work? I want it to play even when it's viewed without an internet connection.
I've inserted a screenshot of the animations as seen on my iPad 3.

Getting HTML animations to work on DPS publications on iPad

Hi everyone,
I have been using the Animation feature in InDesign 5.5 to create animations, saving it as Flash (FLA), using the Wallaby programme to convert it to HTML, changing the CSS so it doesn't loop (infinite --->1) and then using the Web View on DPS to hopefully get the Animation work on iPad publications.
Opening the HTML in web browser, it worked fine. When it got to the iPad however, the Animation effects didn't work.
Specifically, I was trying the Grow animation effect - but it didn't work on the iPad. What happened was that the place where the Web View was showed a loading icon, then around 2 seconds later, the words (which were supposed to Grow) just appeared (without the Grow effect).
I also tried the "Fly in from left" effect, this time it worked - only once though. When I left the page and returned to it on the iPad, again, the above process happened (a loading icon, and then the words just appeared, and did not fly in from left)
So, I wanted to asked,
1. Are there any animation effects for InDesign 5.5, when converted to HTML, that are not supported by the iPad, causing it to not work completely ( such as probably the Grow effect)?
2. Are there any ways to make the animation effects work for everytime I load the page? (I had already selected the Page Load for the Animation effect so I don't think it's the problem there)
3. The Wallaby programme will make action scripts/ timing unworkable after conversion right? Does this mean that if I wanted to do multiple effects (say different words flying in from left or right in different times), Wallaby is not the solution?
Still a newbie to HTML and DPS, so very sorry if the above questions don't make sense. Much appreciate for any help!

There is a great Apple App called Hype, which creates timeline animation for html. It costs about £20 but is well worth it. It would seem to be far easier than the route you are taking. There is also Adobe Edge, which is free in adobe labs, it is only beta, but some people think its pretty good, not tried it myself yet.

Flash SWF/HTML animation preview stops at the same time (around 9 minute mark) without reason. (CS5)

I have a good sized animation that I am attempting to publish using CS5, but for some reason the animation always stops around the 9 minute mark.
I don't have any actionscript telling the animation to stop at that particular point, and regardless of how I order my scenes, it always stops at the same time.
Here is the only actionscript I have, and it's in the first scene:

MovieClip(this.root).nextScene();
My theory is that the animation is too big somehow, and Flash can only load up to a certain point.
I haven't been able to find any documentation on such an issue so any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm using a TLF text, but it loads and displays properly in the animation.

There are 17483 in the main timeline across 9 scenes.
I tracked down where the animation stops and it does seem the limit is 16000 regardless of ordering.
What I tried to do was boil each scene down to a movie clip and play each one in the main timeline in one frame each.
I have an actions layer in the main timeline with a stop(); in each frame for a movieclip.
Then I have an actions layer in each movie clip with a MovieClip(parent).nextFrame(); and a MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop(1); in the last one.
For some reason that's not working though, it just loops through the first frame of each movieclip without playing any of them?
Could you tell me how I could work around this limit/If I am approaching it the right way?

Load lag for HTML Animation Cap 8

I've made a really cool HTML5 animation in Edge Animate with jQuery and published it as a .oam file. I loaded it onto a slide in Captivate 8 and when I publish the project it takes a few seconds to load the animation. I did get it to load instantly by adding it into a Captivate 7 project with the Captivate 7 App Packager. The Cap 8 App Packager doesn't load .oam files anymore so that's not an option.
Is there anyway to make it load instantly in Captivate 8?

The .oam file is only 261KB so it really shouldn't take any time to load. It's the animation that is lagging, not the captivate presentation. I'm still testing this module out so it's only 3 slides, there's no audio, and no other graphics involved yet. I've even put the animation on the second slide to see if the Captivate file loads quickly and it does.
I'm running it locally and the computer I'm working on has plenty of power to drive the work that I want it to do so that's not the issue either.
Intel i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz
28GB RAM
