Hi,
I've been reviewing the pros and cons for PDF and HTML for mobile technical documentation and newsletters and wanted to get your honest thoughts on this.
Here's the scenario:
I need to create mobile technical documenation and newsletters that are interactive, i.e. video, commenting/annotating, links, forms, etc.
Given how the mobile publishing market is rapidly evolving, what is the most practical format, (with minimum format issues) to use for both short term and long term? PDF or HTML? Why?
Based on your choice, which format would you use for non-interactive documents that offers the most creative options and usability? Why?

Hyper Text Markup Language ( HTML ) is going to work better. Mainly because the way mobile is setup, the interface has to conform to the device and with the other elements coded into the interface, HTML is far better. You keep referring to usability, so even in non-interactive scenarios in mobile documentation, you're better off using HTML.

Unable to open PDF or HTML Oracle Reports Tutorial Documentation

I am trying to open the PDF Oracle Reports Tutorial Documentation for General Documentation Release 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) from the following location: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/reports.html, but it does not seem to be working. All the other PDFs are working fine. Is this a bug?

Deployment of static html files (for the documentation of the application)

I'm developing with forms 11g for windows and deploying on linux.
I want to deploy the help docs of my application, which I've already migrated from hlp to html / css.
Now, I would like to know where can I deploy that html files to invoke them with web.showdocument (for example).
To what path is relative the url in the web.showdocument built in?
Can I jar them as I did with the icons?

Print html problem

I have a problem in VI documentation. I print the VI (the block diagram is much bigger than one screen) into html, and choose vi documentation. I got an error of 'Failure saving file xxx.html'. I am using LabVIEW 8.6 and winxp.

This documentation was ordinarily bundled into a .zip file that could be referenced by NetBeans (offline). SSO E-Sourcing and SAP GUI for HTML

Hi,
We are trying to provide integration between SAP E-Sourcing and SAP ECC via the SAP GUI for HTML. From an E-Sourcing project, we should define a link which will link us to the report via SAP GUI for HTML. Some parameters are automatically transferred via the URL so that the report will be prefiltered.
The problem arises that we cannot create a SSO mechanism between SAP E-Sourcing and SAP GUI for HTML. The only documentation we can find is how to setup this SSO between the Portal and ESO (only included going from the EP to ESO). We need to find a way to do the opposite, i.e. SSO from ESO to SAP / EP.

the SAP GUI for HTML has been completely
reworked.
1.The rendering is now based on Unified

But have not came across any note which converts the SAP GUI for HTML to SAP GUI for Windows in appearacne. I think the point 2 mentioned about says that in this version the SAP GUI for HTML will have appearnce like the other UI.

Applets foregrouded with html body background color

In our application we are using applets while loading applets ,applets controls are foregrounded with html background color thats why we are unable see applets properly.

The HTML editor is the 'FCK Editor' of old, and the config for it is stored on the server where all of the javascript for your server instance is stored. You can modify much of the configuration of the HTML editor. The documentation for modifying the configuration of FCKEditor is here:

Is it possible to mimic a submission of html form in Java Swing

Helppp!!!!
I want to create a swing applet (The plugins are installed) that would submit to a servlet. The servlet is having a doPost method. Now How do I form fields (that is textfield, hidden field) in a swing environment.
The same attempt if made in a normal HTML document, I get the results.
But how to do it swing environment.
I have seen classes called FormView, HTMLDocument etc in javax.swing.text.html package. The documentation also says that a input type=button will be intrepreted as JButton. There is also a method called as "submitData()" in the FormView class.
But how actually do you use it.
Or is there any other way.
Can anyone help me out please?

You could simply let the JTextPane load up an HTML page with a form for you which in turn you can fill out and submit to your servlet. And here is my working sample:

I'm afraid you can't. If you were reading your HTML
documents with a
browser, that would be one thing. Browsers are HTML-reading
machines. The
Flash Player is not. The Flash Player reads Flash files.
While Flash does
support a modicum of the full HTML spec -- see "About
supported HTML tags"
in the documentation for details -- Flash does not, as a
rule, open HTML
documents.

Site Studio Publishing Utility (SSPU) HTML/ZIP?

Hi,
I am in the process of implementing the Site Studio Publishing Utility to publish a site to an FTP target.
I had assumed that the site would be published as HTML files as the documentation suggests... however it is infact publishing a zip file.
Is there anyway to get the SSPU to publish the HTML and associated files directly? I want to prevent the need for the files to be extracted (whether manually or automated).

You only need to install the Subscription Client on the target server, and it will unzip the HTML to the correct places.

are there anywhere updated tutorials, examples, documentation on using the TLF? with classes like IContainerController removed, TextFilter renamed etc. it's quite hard to find your way into the framework.
I use flex builder 3 for Actionscript Projects and try to make use of TLF for all text-rendering on those projects.
what are the best resources to read?
