HTML DB, 10g and Win2003

Hi,
i know that where were some threads about this in this forum, but i did not understand what to do (i have not so much expireance). so, it try to install htmldb 10.1.0.2.0 from the companion disk into an exisiting 10g db (the db works fine). i have a win 2003 server. i have the apache installed in an separate orahome, it works also well. on an other win2000-server htmldb works well and i have built an application with it. :-))
but here, the configuration assistants of htmldb failed: can someone please explain me what to do???? :-)))

Few major changes to enlist are that SOA suite 10g was using Oracle Application Server (OC4J) however 11g is on Weblogic and 11g is based on SCA. Difference Between OBIEE 10g and OBIEE 11g

Hi everyone,
I have a doubt when choosing two versions of OBIEE, 10g and 11g.
Actually, is there any big difference between 10g and 11 version ?
From the point of view of easiness finding tutorial in internet, simplicity of using the tool, and other considerations, which one is better ?

Oracle 10G Installation and Migration from 6i to 10G and

I never had the opportunity to Install or Migrate oracle any version.
We are in the process of Installing Oracle 10G and moving Oracle Forms and Reports from 6i to 10G. I am asked by my superiors to conduct the interviews and decide which candidate will be best. These are temporary positions but are very important as a wrong candidate will affect the entire project. Need the right candidate.
I would like some hints or suggestion as to what skills should I test or what questions to ask.

Is HTML DB 10g the same as Apex 3?

Hi
We updgraded our database from 9i to 10g, and I was going through the "New Features" documentation. For my surprise, there is a section there called "Oracle HTML DB Improvements".
I thought that APEX used to be called HTML DB and both were in fact the same product... but now it seems to me that they are two separate products. Or are they?
Sorry for this silly question, but can anyone explain to me the relationship between Apex and HTML DB?

there is a big difference however: htlmdb uses htmldb_admin and htmldb as users, apex uses apex and apex_admin as users. but - fortunately - oracle created a situation you can use both htmldb ad apex (as users) in apex.
I don't know what you are saying here. There is no big difference in how user accounts work between earlier and later versions of the product and everything is backward compatible.
by the way : before htmldb is was webdb (not flows).
Before the name "HTML DB", the name "Flows" was used. Web DB might be regarded as a precursor to all of it but that was a distinctly separate project.

I think the important thing is to note step 3 of the documentation,
Add to J2EE_HOME/applib any JAR files required by a Websphere MQ JMS client
as described in the IBM documentation.
I assume this comes from an MQ library that should be installed in OC4J.
If you use applib you must restart OC4J before it will be seen also.

OID 10g and AD 2008

Hello,
We are facing a dilema and I am hoping someone else has gone through this and could offer a suggestion.
We use OID 10g as part of our single sign on that authenticates our Oracle apps 11i based app with AD 2003 currently, using DIP. The plan is to upgrade AD 2003 to AD 2008. However, from what I understand we need to upgrade our OID to 11g. Our dilema is that this would force an upgrade of another large system at the same time, which I am hoping avoid and am hoping to buy us some time to upgrade to OID 11g a little further down the road when we have more bandwidth to handle.
I came across an article that talks about a work around that I am hoping could help us short term.

But the part I am hoping someone could shed some light on is this below portion from the article in the link above.

Oracle Identity Manager is certified to use with Oracle Internet Directory 10g and MS Active Directory 2008.
Oracle Identity Manager provides connectors for OID 10g and MS AD 2008, which allows users created in MS AD 2008 to be reconciled into OIM, which in turn will propogate user information to OID. In turn, OID will propagate those changes to Oracle Apps 11i FND_USER table.]
What I need others help with is, Is this indeed possible? Has anyone else done this? If not, what options do we have with working with AD 2008.
