    myCheckBox = Value 3
    I would like to know if i want to get back the parameters from the form ,
    is that i must use Enumeration.
    Because i have tried request.getParameter() to get the value of radio button, textbox, checkbox and select menu, but it get the null values.
    Also, the function of Enumeration does not get the values of parameter in sequence as html form. e.g.In the html file, the first parameters should be textbox,but it displays the radio button's values first.
    How to solve the problem .
    Thanks

    This sounds like a bug in the smart upload code. I have used this stuff before, but it's probably an older version, so maybe they broke something. Enumerations aren't usually guaranteed to keep things in any particular order. I would say for now, make a method to take the enumeration and a param name to find the value. And write to the JSPSmart people.

  • Uploading File To MySQL from HTML form via Servlet

    Hello all !
    I hope this is better place to ask.
    I'm working on simple Servlet/Jsp application trying to hold to MVC pattern and got stuck on uploading file to MySQL db.
    Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
    1) client submits a JPEG image via a simple html form on a webpage.
    2) JPEG is put into a database table, column field of type BLOB.
    3) Servlet processes the request, gets a connection to the db and inserts the image into the table.
    4) after that user is able to retrieve an image from db and display it in JSP page.
    This is pretty much the same task Angela was trying to do here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=667597&messageID=3905449
    I could use her snippets if i knew what is what and decided to figure out this myself. Aftet some investigation i found out that i need to import org.apache.commons.fileupload.*;which i found here: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/
    what am i driving at ?
    -----------------------1-----------------------
    After first line of code
    boolean isPart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(request);netBeans 5.5 beta2 with bundled Tomcat 5.5.17 underlines this with warning saying that
    org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileUploadBase
    has been depreceted
    is it a reason for concern ?
    -----------------------2-----------------------
    Is it actually good idea to store images in db as blob ?
    what about large ammounts of text ?
    thank you
    -Dominik

    is it a reason for concern ?Yes.
    You should take a look at the method in the documentation and find out exact reason for depricating it.
    If it is depricated becouse they going to remove it in the future you should use the new alternative method becouse if you use the old method your app will not work in the future releases of the API.
    If it is depricated becouse it is not safe to use the method you should clearly understand the risks involved in using the method and see if that can give you any trouble in your project.
    -----------------------2-----------------------
    Is it actually good idea to store images in db as
    blob ?I think that it is ths best option available when you want to store binary data
    what about large ammounts of text ?You can use clob columns.
    By the way when you store files in the database its better you put some extra columns to store the file name and file type(mime) becouse you cant directly detect those things later by just looking at the data of the file.

  • Reading html data & uploading a file in single html form using htp package

    Hi
    I have designed a html screen using htp package in which i have few text items and file upload button. I have to validate all forms data like text items and check box elements and upload file to unix. I am using java script for file validations and cgi script to upload file. With this I am able to either read form data or upload file but not both.
    At a time I want to insert a record to database with html form values and upload file to unix with htp package. Please suggest how can I read html form data + uploading a file to unix simultaneously in a single htp procedure.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep

  • "Error uploading file index.html. Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later. [550 /index.html: Not a regular file]"

    When uploading to FTP Host it gives me this error "Error uploading file index.html. Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later. [550 /index.html: Not a regular file]" What does this mean and how can I fix it? I need to be able to upload my website and it is not allowing me to do so.

    Hi
    Are you still facing the same error ? Also, have you tried to export the file as html , does it shows same error ? You can upload the exported html to your server using any FTP client as an alternative.
    Thanks,

  • Uploading files using a separate HTML editor

    Because the Verizon website builder is not consistent, I am using a separate HTML editor for uploading files to my personal webpage. However, sofar I am unable to get information from Verizon as to what folder I should upload the files to, in order to view them through my browser. Anyone went through the same experience?

  • Problems while uploading files using the FileReference API

    I've built an image uploader module in Flex using the FileReference API and PHP.
    While this works perfect for images upto 1 MB, What I'm noticing is that for images greater that 1 MB even after the Event.COMPLETE  has triggered, the file hasn't yet been uploaded into the folder.. its only after a couple of seconds or minutes after the Event.COMPLETE,  that the image actually shows up in the FTP folder. Morever I also noticed that for such files the DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA that we are using to get feedback from PHP never gets called.
    I thought it would be related to the PHP script getting timed out... but the PHP script does get executed and the images do show up in the folder but thats way after the Event.Complete has been triggered and more importantly  DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA doesnt get called.
    Everything seems to work fine as long as the file size is under 1 MB
    Did others too face similar problems and any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance

    I don't believe there is, as the browse button renders out as an html input type file component, and this has no ability to get native file size from the client. The only way to do it is to check the file size server side, but that kind of defeats the purpose to some extent, as the file is required to be uploaded before the file size can be checked.
    There is no way to do this on the client short of using a third party client side component - ie. java, flash or some other active component that gets file system level access.

  • Request.getParameter() when uploading files

    Hi, I need to upload files and do other works .. such that, in my html ..
    <form name="composer" method="post" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data">
    <input type=hidden name="a" value="a">
    <input type=File name=inputfile>
    <inpu type=button name=Upload onClick='upload file'>
    <inpu type=button name=otherStuff onClick='do other stuff'>
    </form>
    In the jsp for 'do other stuff', I have the following statement to get the value of a
    String a = request.getParameter("a");
    However, it returns 'null', if I erase the 'ENCTYPE' part from the html file, it works. How can I get it right?

    If your ENCTYPE is multi-part/form-data, then there is another technichque to read the form parameters.
    request.getParameter() won't work.
    first u need to read the requenct explicitely and divide the contents into parameters, files etc. and then read the parameter values.
    you can get a lot of stuff regarding this on web, like 'uploading files using jsp'.
    have fun!!

  • Is there a way to silently upload files?

    Ok, so I've taken the plunge. I've started working on an AIR
    app using Flash CS3. I'm putting together a little app that will
    keep my online store updated with all the product updates from our
    wholesaler. This includes parsing a csv file, downloading product
    images from the wholesaler, updating the database, and then
    uploading the images to our server.
    The problem is that AIR does not seem to have the
    functionality to silently upload files! Sure, I can use the
    file.reference object to fire off the browse method, which then
    opens the OS file browser window BUT I would really like the whole
    thing to be hands off. In the past, I've written these types of
    apps using Visual Studio but I haven't touched VS in two years.
    Has anyone run across a way to silently upload or ftp files
    in AIR?

    Hey Oliver,
    Thanks for your answer--the fact that it CAN be done has
    gotten me a lot further on finding a solution. Here's what I have
    so far. As it runs, I can see the progress and completion of the
    upload but I'm still not getting it saved. I'm uploading it to a
    ColdFusion processing page.
    AS3 Code:
    import flash.filesystem.*;
    import flash.net.URLRequest;
    //Silent File Upload (no browse window)
    function imageUpload(imageName,uploadPage):void
    trace('Starting Upload of ' + imageName + '\n');
    var myFile:File =
    File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath(imageName);
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(uploadPage);
    request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
    myFile.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS,progressHandler);
    myFile.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,completeHandler);
    myFile.upload(request,"theFile");
    function progressHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void {
    var file:FileReference = FileReference(event.target);
    var pLoaded =
    Math.ceil(event.bytesLoaded/event.bytesTotal*100);
    trace(pLoaded + '% uploaded');
    function completeHandler(event:Event):void
    trace ('Upload complete.');
    var uploadPage = "
    http://www.aaronbday.com/upload_file.cfm";
    imageUpload("angelic_cat.jpg",uploadPage);
    Here's the CFM page:

  • Questions about OAS Portal Forms to upload files

    Hello,
    I have quetions, about uploading files, see I need to creat a form that will be used by other people to upload information that later will be presented as downloads in the portal...
    so I created a form in my provider with a file (binary) field, and it mimes to my table in the DB, to the field "Archivo", then what I do is use a omniportlet and using HTML format I present like a link using the info in the field Archivo
    and when I clic on it it takes me to this link
    http://desarrollo06:7778/pls/portal/38173.PDF
    but the file I uploaded does not appear
    can aniyone help me to solve this?
    thanks in advances for the suggestions and your time ^_^

    The method you used to setup upload of file seems fine. I suppose you would have used a blob type to save the file in your db table.
    basically, you can develop a report offering a link calling perhaps a procedure which would query from the table and download the file.
    In that procedure, you would look for the file (vblob) and the mime_type from that table using a sql-query. then use them to setup the mime type for the http protocol, and download the file as follows.
    owa_util.mime_header(mime_type);
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.Download_File(vblob);
    hope that helps!

    Hello i had exactly the same error, but not with file upload.
    I'm sure you have in your application lib directory to jars which aren't compatible to each other.
    And the problem occured between my myfaces and tomahawk jars .
    See this page:
    http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/CompatibilityMatrix
    It tells you which myfaces and tomahawk jars you can use together.
    Hope it can help.

  • Problem with uploading files to SharePoint 2013 in cloud using web services. Keep getting error message and don't know why.

    Hello everyone. I am having trouble writing a utility that uses SharePoint web services to upload a file and metatag it. It keeps throwing the following error message:
    "The request failed with the error message: -- <html><head><title>Object moved</title></head><body> <h2>Object moved to <a href="/_forms/default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fsites%2fgk%2f_vti_bin%2fcopy.asmx">here</a>.</h2>
    </body></html> --."
    Not sure why. I pass the file that I am going to upload to the subroutine and it is suppose to upload it to the appropriate library. I have burned several days on this problem and I am not sure what is going on. I would appreciate anyone that can point me in
    the right direction. Below is the subroutine that I have that is causing the problem. Obviously, I have stripped the name from the example.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi,
    If you want to upload a file to a library in SharePoint 2013 online, I suggest you use Client Object Model or REST API.
    The code snippets in the two threads below will be helpful:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/deac7cb7-c677-47b0-acdc-c56b32dfaac8/uploading-bigger-files-using-csom
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17057074/how-to-download-upload-files-from-to-sharepoint-2013-using-csom
    Uploading Files Using the REST API
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/uksharepoint/archive/2013/04/20/uploading-files-using-the-rest-api-and-client-side-techniques.aspx
    You can handle the authentication with
    SharePointOnlineCredentials object:

  • Fileaccess.httpUploadBean doesn't upload file in Jdevelper 9.0.3

    Hi,
    I am using Jdevelper 9.0.3 to develop a jsp Based File Upload Utility.
    I have attached Liberary "JSP RUNTIME" which reffers to "ojsp.jar","ojsputil.jar","oc4j.jar","servlet.jar","ojc.jar".
    while running the code for file upload, file doesn't get uploaded. I am not getting any exceptions too.
    But the same pease of code with same liberary "JSP RUNTIME" is working absolutly fine(Uploading File), when i am running it using Jdeveloper10.1.2, and This is Strange to me.Actualy i need to use Jdeveloper9.0.3 only.Please let me know if any patch is required to apply in Jdeveloper9.0.3.

    Hi,
    I am using Jdevelper 9.0.3 to develop a jsp Based File Upload Utility.
    Please find the code below and help.
