HTML Drill Down Report
Hi,
I am using CR4E Ver 2.0.11.r1346.
I am producing HTML drill down report. My code for the same looks like..
CrystalReportViewer crystalReportViewer = new CrystalReportViewer();
crystalReportViewer.setOwnPage(false);
crystalReportViewer.setPrintMode(CrPrintMode.ACTIVEX);
crystalReportViewer.setReportSource(reportClientDocument.getReportSource());
HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) parameters.get("httpServletRequest");
HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) parameters.get("httpServletResponse");
String htmlContent = crystalReportViewer.getHtmlContent(request, response, request.getSession().getServletContext());
output.setContent(htmlContent.getBytes());
For some reasons, I can not use
crystalReportViewer.processHttpRequest
My code generates the HTML report as expected but the drill down reports do NOT work. I tried to inspect and got that the HTML generated by
getHtmlContent
does not have the script tag
event.js
. I added this script manually in generated content and tried to debug through, but it does not work.
Any clues?
Thanks.
I tried using
processHttpRequest
This generates the same report but Drill down does NOT work.
The code in my action class is...
CrystalReportViewer viewer = new CrystalReportViewer();
viewer.setOwnPage(true);
viewer.setPrintMode(CrPrintMode.ACTIVEX);
//Get the report source object that this viewer will be displaying.
IReportSource reportSource = (IReportSource)(httpServletRequest.getAttribute("ReportSource"));
if (null != reportSource && servletContext != null) {
viewer.setReportSource(reportSource);
//Render the report.
viewer.processHttpRequest(httpServletRequest, httpServletResponse,
servletContext,
null);
Any clue?

Cannot get the drill down report working. Have created 2 pages first one with master table and second page containing detail information. Further i have created an item to hold the value on page two. Now when i go to the Query definition to give a condition i cannot see any column in the Select list.
Any help would be appreciated..
ThanksCould you post the item name you are using and also include the query you are using. In the most of the cases the item name you are using in the query doesn't match with the real item name.

Drill down report export to pdf
Hi,
I have a drill down report that i need to export to pdf.to get the drill down facility, I used 'HIDE' option for the groups.
The drill down works in crystal.But when I export the crystal report to PDF, I could not see the hidden groups/Tabs, and my drill down doesn;t work.Please suggest me what to do while exporting a drill down report to PDF. Is it possible to export a drill down report to Excel?Can someone suggest the precaustions to be taken while exporting to different formats??
Thank you,
Tatyana.Drill-Down behavior in Crystal doesn't carry over to pdf exports.
Using one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports schedulers listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html you can achieve similar behavior in pdf exports by automating the process of:
1. exporting the main report to main pdf.
2. Bursting a detailed report to individual pdf files
3. using Crystal formulas embedded in the main report to generate live links from the exported main pdf to the individual detail pdf files. -
Parameter Problem with Drill down reports
Hi,
I have created a drill down report.
I have a master report which list all the employee names and a detail report which list the contact details for each employee selected.
The URL looks like this http://webser/dev60cgi/rwcgi60.exe?detail&p_empid = 1200
detail is a kepmapping entry in cgicmd
this does not work and the detail report does not get the p_empid value.
Now if i enter the compelete url like http://webser/dev60cgi/rwcgi60.exe?server=rep_ss&report=det.rdf......
it works.
Any suggestions !
Thanks,
Shailesh
nullHi,
I got this resolved by using javascript and doing explicit form submit. As our information is highly secured we don't want the users to see any of the URL links from href, browser or from view source.
I got the first two resolved but when i do a view source i could se in header sections of html view souce the follwing code
<head>
< base href="http://webser.../522222.htm>
</head>
is there any way using reports i can hide this.
Any help, suggestions or reference will be highly apprecaited.
Thanks,
Shailesh

Drill Down Report using Crystal reports in eclipse and jspviewer
Hi
I want to understand how to write a drill down report since I have a requirement for my project, so I tried to run the sample drill down.rpt that is available with Crystal Reports 2008 Complete Reference book by George Peck.
I can see the results correctly( i.e. can drill down) in the preview tab . Since I am working inside the eclipse, the way I run the reports is first "Create report viewer JSP" by right clicking the report and have a url mapping to this jsp. I am running the reports from a hyperlink that maps to the url which will launch the jsp.
the jsp is:-
<%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1" %><%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer" %><crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName="Drill Down-viewer" reportSourceVar="Drill Down" isOwnPage="true" allowDrillDown="true">
<crviewer:report reportName="reports/Drill Down.rpt" />
</crviewer:viewer>
The one that was created by "Create report viewer JSP" did not had "allowDrillDown" attribute at all .But I added it since it isnt working.
So when I launch my web app and click on the link to run the report, I get the report results but only to the summary level. When I double click the summary level I get a 404 error page.
Can please anyone suggest what is going on.
Thanks
poonamOk. So, you added the report to the project. Now we have to add the CR assemblies to the project, add the viewer (if need be) and fire it off. Simplest code would be:
Public Sub New()
' This call is required by the designer.
InitializeComponent()
' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = ("path to report")
End Sub
In this case you are using the viewer SDK to runt he report. The report will prompt for any logon parameters - but you can code these also. You can load the report via the engine as bellow. Again, the report will prompt. I prefer to use the engine as it is way more "extensible"...
Public Sub New()
' This call is required by the designer.
InitializeComponent()
' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
crReportDocument.Load("path to report")
'Bind the report to the viewer
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
End Sub
If you have a report added to the project (strongly typed) the code would be:
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = New myReport()
For more details, I'd recommend looking at the sample app vbnet_win_simplepreviewreport.zip available from the following location:
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsfor.NETSDK+Samples

I am looking to create a Image map with drill down reports. I don't know Java but know PL/SQL functions/procedures very well. I would appreciate if someone help me with this.
I am looking following functionality:
1. Upload an image in Apex
2. Create click-able areas in it.
3. User click on these hyperlinks and move to next page with drill down report as per the vaiable in hyperlinks

Drill down reports using SVG component
I've created and dynamic report and an SVG chart following the examples of the tutorials. I was wondering if, and how, it was possible to create drill-down reports i.e report on colour, then clicking on that colour would reveal the types of car and so on. Does anyone have an example?
Thanks
DarrenDarren,
The query for an SVG chart requires 3 columns: Link, Label, and Value. You use the Link value to provide a link to another page. This link can also pass parameters to the next page.
If you set up a page for each "level" of your drill-down (e.g. color, type of car, etc), you can link from the higher-level page to the lower level page and pass the value that was clicked on in the chart.
Take a look in the HTML DB User's Guide for the section about "Using f?p Syntax to Link Pages": http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/appdev.101/b10992/mvl_fund.htm#BEIJCIAG
You would use that syntax in the Link column of the query for your chart. Here is part of a query I used to drill down from one pie char to another (on page 3), passing the selected project to a variable called P3_PROJECT.
select 'f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.::NO::P3_PROJECT:' || Project L,
Project, sum(Time)
from v_timesheet
where ...
Does that help? -
Drill-down reports Discoverer-style
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to implement drill-down reports in HTMLDB. All the references I found are showing details in a 2nd page for a certain row in the 1st page (e.g. ordered items for an order ID).
I'm not looking for this, but for drill-down "a la Discoverer", such as this example
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/discoverer/discoverer_1012/viewer/lesson1.htm#t7
One can select there multiple criterias for drill down.
Perhaps the solution would be a combination of tree reports with standard reports
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/howtos/howto_tree.html
but I don't see clearly how to do it, especially with a lot of drill-down options.
Do you have any suggestions?
Many thanks,
MariusI think there are two differen approaches:
- using the HTML report and doing some "dynamic" SQL at the block level
(That means you have to write the drill down - this is the logic that
is done by the tree - by yourself)
If you ever have done the work to do this in combination with a HTML DB report,
please post it here.
- using the a Tree Page with a special layout and view
Which one to use depends on how often you have to use this.
You can see an example under:
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=41053:30
Here is a quick hack for the Tree Page variant, that may help you.
Using a Tree page uning a view and changing the tree template gives you some of
this functionality. If you have to do more of this kind use a stylesheet (.css) to
controll the layout.
1. Create a View that represents your Hierarchy (Structure)
For every level create a UNION secion.
Using UNION you can get the records from different sources also.
2. Create a Page with a Tree, SQL Query Based.
Use the View that you created before.
NAME .. are the levels of your dimensions
A1, A2 .. are your measures of your fact
ID, PID .. the hierarchy (structure) information
* Step 1 - creating a view:
create or replace view tree as
select id, pid, name, link, a1, a2
from (
-- Level 1 (Root Level)
select
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY') id, null pid,
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY') name, null link,
to_char(sum(ORDER_TOTAL),'999G9990D99') a1, to_char(count(*),'999G9990D99') a2
from DEMO_ORDERS
group by
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY'),
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY')
UNION
-- Level 2
select
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMM'), to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY'),
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'Month'), null,
to_char(sum(ORDER_TOTAL),'999G9990D99'), to_char(count(*),'999G9990D99')
from DEMO_ORDERS
group by
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMM'), to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYY'),
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'Month')
UNION
-- Level 3 (Leaf Level)
select
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMMDD'), to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMM'),
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'DD. Day'), null,
to_char(sum(ORDER_TOTAL),'999G9990D99'), to_char(count(*),'999G9990D99')
from DEMO_ORDERS
group by
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMMDD'), to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'YYYYMM'),
to_char(ORDER_TIMESTAMP,'DD. Day')
)If you have a lot of this kind of reports you realy should think to
use discoverer. It does a lot of sql behind the szenes and also in the
presentation logic - this is what you have to do here by hand.
If you have more than two measures (A1,A2) you can do the
formatting in your view (realy ugly, but it is a workaround).
* Step 2: Create the tree page
Tree Query:
select
"ID" id, "PID" pid, "NAME" name,
null link, a1 a1, a2 a2
from TREEBefore Tree:
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">After Tree:

Drill-down Report, Form not completely showed in Report
Hiya!!
I'm working with Drill-down Report. Im creating a kind of P&L report but it has a lot of lines because I need to create one P&L report for every Region (Profit Center Group), and I need it in a fixed form.
The problem I have is that my Form has approximately 1080 lines but when I execute the Report (Tx FXI0), the Report just show 1020 lines and I don't have any error message. The output type I have choosen is graphical Report output "106 Navigation control, detail list" by now, but I already tried with all the possiblilities there are (Tx FXI2).
Does anybody knows If there is any limit for the output? If not, does anybody know where do I have the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Drill down report without using heirarchies in OBIEE11g
Hi,
Can we create multiple column drill down report without using hierarchies in OBIEE11g?
Kindly let me know the solution.
Thank you!
-HarshithYes, It can be done, but for each drill level you will require one seperate report. Drilling can be achieved using OBIEE Report Navigation.
For eg. If I have to create a drill report which starts from Year and goes to QTR and then to Month level. That means I have to create 3 reports.
1. A year report which will have report data at year level (Consider Year, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns)
2. A QTR report which will have report data at Qtr level. This report will have Year column in filter section as IS PROMPTED (Consider Qtr, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns).
3. A Monthly report which will have report data at Month level. This report will have Year, Qtr column in filter section as IS PROMPTED (Consider Month, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns).
Then we can go to Yearly report and put the OBIEE navigation on Year column and our target report will be QTR report. Similarly in Qtrly report put the OBIEE navigation on QTR column and our Target report will be Monthly report.
This way you can impliment drilling without hierarchy.
For step by step see below URL:
http://www.askjohnobiee.com/2012/07/how-to-drill-through-guided-navigation.html
Appriciate if you can mark Correct.
Thanks,

when i see the detail report i get the value of the_prodid parameter as null.
any help will be highly appreciated.Thanks very much.
It worked for me also.
Now i am getting here something new
i have wrriten a function which returs javascript and i this is being passed to report using before report trigger.
I am using
SRW.SET_BEFORE_REPORT_HTML(SRW.TEXT_ESCAPE,HTML_Text) tag to do this.
When i run this report from report builder it works fine but when this is invoked from
a report server i get a blank page and the window status says tranferrring data from webserver nothing comes up.
Now when i remove the contents of before report trigger it works fine.
my before report trigger conetenst are

end;
mainpagejavascript function returns

Drill down report on Report Server
How to run a drill-down report on Oracle report Server?
The drill-down report works fine in Client Server. When the same report is tried on Web (Run a reoprt on Web using Oracle Report Server - Oracle Report 6i) it do't work.
The problem is:
1)The drill-down button doe't appear as button. It appears as text.
2)How to pass the parameter from the main report to the drill-down report.
For Ex. When you click on SS_No on the main report the drill-down report runs to show the salary, 401K deterction etc., for that particular employee.
ThanksI dont understand if you are working in Client server or web
but...
If you are running in C/S you can use the host command from
reports.
If you are running reports on the web then you should also run
forms on the web and then you can use the Forms servlet or cgi
implementation to have a URL that activates the form, or just
call a static HTML form that activates the form on the web.
If your report is on the web and your form is C/S then
As far as I know HTML cannot activate program on the computer
that views it. -

QUESTION 1 - I have found and successfully used the "Drill down report example". However, I am only able to do it from a brand new application. That doesn't seem quite right though.
QUESTION 2 - I dropped a column while cleaning/correcting my data but I can't seem to get rid of it from a couple of simple HTML reports. I can't find out how to remove the column (granted I am looking for the gui tool). I would use the "query source" under the "report attributes" tab but the lower section (I believe they are the joins) have me perplexed.
Any thoughts, help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not being a smart alec, but I don't see the question in this.

For now, don't worry about the WHERE clause of the SQL query unless the column you dropped is in the WHERE clause as well. Beginning with SELECT and up until FROM in the query statement, if you see your column, remove it from there.
If you post your query and the column to be removed, we can help further.

I bought iTunes Match for my music library. I have over 60,000 songs and iTunes only allows 25,000 songs to be stored. Can I buy more space now? Will they be increasing the song limit sometime? I saw that the Amazon song cloud can keep up to 100,000
