Html form becomes red before inserting anything

Whats the problem with my form on
www.tacitus-reisen.de/s1buchen.html
? The php-script works fine, but the form should be like the one on
www.tacitus-reisen.de/anfrage.html
I used the muse form first, and added select-tags later, what caused these issues.

Hi Henrik,
What happens when you delete the form from the page and re-insert it?

  • Using xsgl:insert-request to insert non-English character data from HTML form

    I tried to insert a text written in French and pasted into an HTML form into my database following the recipe from the XSQL release notes.
    The table:
    create table content_object (
    id number(9) constraint pk_content_object primary key,
    author number(9),
    title varchar2(256),
    abstract varchar2(1024),
    object_type_id number(9),
    content_meat clob,
    XML file the form is posted to:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsql:insert-request connection="demo"
    xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql"
    table="content_object"
    transform="article_form_to_content_object.xsl"/>
    article_form_to_content_object.xsl:

    <TITLE>Le go</TITLE>
    <ABSTRACT>Vin bouchonn</ABSTRACT>
    <CONTENT_MEAT>Des conditions de conservation au tant d</CONTENT_MEAT>

    All strings were cropped at the point where the first accented character appeared.
    Any idea why this is happening? With English texts it works just fine.

    Another user hit this problem this week. I debugged it and posted the reply in the discussion thread:
    http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum11/HTML/002799.html
    It's a JDK bug in character set conversion that has a simple workaround, just indicate the ISO-8859-1 encoding on your XSQL page. See the end of this other thread for details.

  • How to style a custom form that's been inserted as HTML into Muse

    Apologies in advance if something similar already exists, and as a print-based designer I'm likely to use incorrect terminology.
    I've created a basic website that requires a custom form. I've created this form using dreamweaver as it requires a dropdown and a check box. The unstyled html from DW I then insert into Muse via the 'Insert HTML' function, on a page called 'booking form'
    To style it I did the following...
    - Opened the form I created back in DW and added classes to the labels .formname, and added a class to some terms and conditions that sits somewhere in the form and called that .formsubtext
    - Copied all of this code and inserted it back into Muse via Insert HTML
    - The form shows up unstyled as expected
    - I export the site as HTML
    - Go into the exported folder into the CSS, and into the corresponding css file booking-form.css
    - Added some custom CSS styling to reflect the font and colour I wanted to use
    - Re-uploaded those edited files
    - The result was that it rendered the class .formsubtext reflecting the terms and conditions as it should but not all the other labels
    Would someone be able to tell me a better way to style a custom form or point out what I've done wrong.
    Thanks!!!

    If you have structured your HTML markup for the form well using appropriate class and id names, then you can just add corresponding CSS using the <style> element in the "HTML for <head>" section in Page Properites > Metadata.
    You may also choose to add all the CSS in a separate file and add reference to that in the HTML for <head> section and then upload the CSS file in appropriate location after publish.

  • JDBC + SERVLET: inserting text data  to access file from Html form

    Hi everybody !
    I'm trying to insert text data from my html form to access database using servlet and jdbc technologies.
    The problem that I'm that the data is TEXT, but not the English language !!!
    So my access db file gets - ???????? symbols instead the real text.
    This is the form line that sending data to my servlet:
    <form
    method="POST"
    ACTION=http://localhost:8080/servlet/myServlet enctype="text/html">
    And this is servlet line that defines response content:
    res.setContentType( "text/html" );
    What can I do to get in access db file the right text format and not a ???????? symbols.
    Maybe I must to ad some <meta ...> , but where ?

    You're dealing with Unicode, I'd guess, and not ASCII.
    I guess I'd have two questions:
    (1) Is the character encoding on your pages set properly for the language you're trying to use?
    (2) Does Access handle Unicode characters?
    Access isn't exacly a world-class database. (If it was, there'd be no reason for M$ to develop SQL Server.) I'd find out if it supports other character sets. If not, you'll have to switch to a more capable database that does. - MOD

  • Reports 6i -- How to create an HTML form template before form processing

    Hello Oracle Reports Gurus,
    I'm using Oracle Reports 6i and trying to create an HTML form WITHOUT using the Oracle Reports 6i parameter form builder. The goal: to take a web page already in existence containing a form with checkboxes and radio buttons and make it 'transparent' to my users in hooking it to Oracle Reports. So far, I made my HTML page (with form and all) a "header" file for my Oracle report and didn't place anything in the parameter form builder. However, upon doing so, Reports 6i decided to be extra helpful and place form elements into the Parameter form builder.
    So,
    1) Is there a way to take a web page with a form and all and easily "plug it" into Oracle Reports 6i WITHOUT using the Parameter Form builder?
    2) Is there another way to create an HTML form that will allow me to have radio buttons, checkboxes, etc?
    Thanks in advance from this Oracle Reports newbie,
    Lee Lonitz

    lee,
    i am not exactly sure what you are trying to do. since you state you use HTML, i assume you are running 3-tier with the report server, right ?
    if so, the easiest way to hook your parameter form up to your report is to just pass the URL to the report as the action URL for your form.
    in 9i/10g we provide the Reports Web source, which is based on JSP and allows you to paste HTML into your report to create a highly customized HTML parameter form.
    i am afraid in 6i, we don't provide a way to actually combine your HTML form ito the report. it needs to stay separate, but can link to the report using the way i described above.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Passing through XML in HTML forms without it being displayed in Web Browser

    Dear all
    I have some MapViewer XML stored in a variable, which I wish to pass through a HTML form. However whenever I insert the variable into the form and run the procedure, my web browser starts reading the actual XML and treating it as HTML, since it is only part of a complete XML script. Even if it was a complete XML script, it would still try and display it. Is there away of making sure the value is passed through without being read by the browser?
    For example:
    PROCEDURE DISPLAY
    AS
    var_xml VARCHAR2(32767) :='<theme name="theme_county"/>';
    htp.print('<INPUT TYPE = "hidden"
                      NAME ="var_xml"
                      VALUE = "' || var_xml || '" />Then causes the output to the browser to become:
    htp.print('<INPUT TYPE = "hidden"
                      NAME ="var_xml"
                      VALUE = "<theme name="theme_county"/>" />The browser is of course reading the XML as HTML.
    Kind regards
    Tim

    Dear all
    I have now resolved the problem by submitting values which can then be used to recreate the xml in another function, rather than actually submitting the xml itself through the forms. This makes more sense and avoids people having to see any of the xml.
    Kind regards
    Tim

  • MySQL:  SELECT * FROM with a Variable from an HTML form

    Hello,
    I would like to insert the variable "find" from the HTML form below in the MySQL "SELECT * FROM" query beneath it.  In other words, where the word "santafe" appears below, I would like to insert the variable "$find."  But I can't quite get it to work.  How do I do it?
    Thanks in advance,
    John
    <form action="tsearch11.php" method="post">
    <label>Enter Topic:
    <input type="text" name="find" size="55"/>
    <input type="hidden" name="searching" value="yes" />
    <input type="submit" name="search" value="Search" />
    </label>
    </form>
    Then, on tsearch11.php:
    <?
    mysql_connect("mysqlv3", "username", "password") or die(mysql_error());
    mysql_select_db("sand2") or die(mysql_error());
    $find = strip_tags($find);
    $find = trim ($find);
    $t = "SELECT * FROM santafe";
    $y = mysql_query($t);
    ?>

    Putting a form variable in a SQL query to look for table or column names requires an extra level of security. You need to create an array of the valid names, and check that the form variable is in that array.
    $find = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($_POST['find']) : $_POST['find'];
    $find = mysql_real_escape_string(trim($find));
    // create an array of valid table names
    $tables = array('santafe', 'sanfernando', 'guadalupe');
    // check that the variable is in the permitted array
    if (in_array($find, $tables)) {
      $t = "SELECT * FROM $find";
      $y = mysql_query($t);
    } else {
      $error = 'Sorry, you selected an invalid table.';
    In the page itself, check whether $y exists before using it. Otherwise display the error:
    if (isset($y)) {
      // display the results
    } elseif (isset($error)) {
      echo $error;

  • HTML form to unicode data-please help

    I am devloping a hindi(indian) module. Basicaly it is having an input form accepting hindi inputs ,but the accepting jsp page displays input in form ¤?र' and not in unicode.I have made charset as UTF-8 for data entry as well as inserting jsp page.
    I am using system.println as output before inserting.
    insert into product_descriptions values (116,1,'¤?र');
    The backend is oracle DB .
    Please help me
    Prashant

    Hi,
    Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to save the form data to a file location outside of SharePoint.
    As a workaround, you can save the filled data to a text file using C# and save the text file to a shared folder.
    I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. Create empty text files in a shared folder using C# File Class.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/as2f1fez(v=vs.110).aspx
    2. Write the Data in the html form to the text file using C# StreamWriter.

  • Convert XML payload to HTML form data in Receiver HTTP Adapter

    Hi,
    I want to make a HTTP request ( Receiver HTTP Adapter ) to a servlet where I need to send the payload in HTML form format ( name=value ). As per the help document:
    A typical HTML form comprises named fields. When transferring a completed form to the server or a CGI program, the data must be transferred in such a way that the CGI script can recognize the fields that make up the form, and which data was entered in which field.
    The plain HTTP adapter constructs this format using a prolog and an epilog
    Has anyone done this before? I looked through all help documents and forums but in vain. I can resort to Java Mapping to do this but I do not want to re-invent the wheel if I can do it easily using HTTP Adapter Configuration. Please help.

    The parameters available in HTTP adapter for message header are:
    HeaderFieldFive     http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP
    HeaderFieldFour     http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP

  • Best Practice PK Generation: 'before insert on trig' vs. rolling yer own

    Experts,
    I have a form with the standard Create/Delete/Apply Changes buttons.
    When someone hits "Create", I have a trigger that fires on the table as "before insert on". It hits a sequence to get a new primary key for the record which is about to be created.
    Another way of doing it is to run a page-level PL/SQL computation, and get SEQUENCE_NAME.Nextval, and stuff it into the appropriate page-level item. "Create" will then fire the insert after this computation and it amounts to the same thing as the trigger.
    Loaded question: Which way is better?
    My DBA recommends to "roll my own" using the page-level computation. His reasoning is if my applications scale up to a lot of users running inserts at the same time, the trigger will be a bit of a drag.
    On the other hand, I like having the trigger "on the database" and not having to worry much about it. It is one less thing that I have on my page.
    Dan

    I'm not the end-all be-all of Oracle expertise, so I
    refer to those who are:

    1_QUESTION_ID:4343369880986#76218085672062
    A couple links I could quickly find on the subject.
    I'm sure there's plenty more out there.Taking Tom's answers out of context don't invalidate the problems of a trigger"less" approach.
    As to the other concerns, personally I would argue
    that a separation between application logic and GUI
    shouldn't go so far as to remove all data management
    concerns, such as using primary keys (and otherwise
    indexed fields) to access data.Still, what happens if you want to user other methods of access, for example sqlldr/external tables, ODBC/.NET, etc.?
    Also, I prefer to keep rogue applications/scripts
    away from my data if possible :). Translated: Everyone has to incorporate sequences in any INSERT statement. For BULK inserts, this maybe the way to go, but you can always check if the PK column is NULL, which should give the trigger a bit of performance improvement.
    But on the chance
    that they do go selecting from incorrect sequences it
    will be their own problem. Or your's if other applications start generating error messages.
    It'll be refused insert
    until it can (randomly, I don't care) provide a
    unique value for that column. Yay for constraints!Finding the source of the problem might be where unnecessary work has to be put in.
    I agree there are a few valid uses for such a
    trigger, I've done it myself. But on the whole, it's
    best to avoid it when possible.Can't follow your argument, really. Maybe another agree to disagree topic?
    C.

  • How to output in HTML form?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to run my java application from command line and I want my output in a html form. Does j2sdk1.4.0 support this or do I have to install anything else? And how do I put the code in System.out.print().
    Please help
    Cheers

    HTML is just text, and you can output text, so yes. Something likeSystem.out.println("<html>");
    System.out.println("<head><title>Not very useful</title></head>");
    System.out.println("<body>");
    // and so onWas that what you meant?

  • Uploading File To MySQL from HTML form via Servlet

    Hello all !
    I hope this is better place to ask.
    I'm working on simple Servlet/Jsp application trying to hold to MVC pattern and got stuck on uploading file to MySQL db.
    Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
    1) client submits a JPEG image via a simple html form on a webpage.
    2) JPEG is put into a database table, column field of type BLOB.
    3) Servlet processes the request, gets a connection to the db and inserts the image into the table.
    4) after that user is able to retrieve an image from db and display it in JSP page.
    This is pretty much the same task Angela was trying to do here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=667597&messageID=3905449
    I could use her snippets if i knew what is what and decided to figure out this myself. Aftet some investigation i found out that i need to import org.apache.commons.fileupload.*;which i found here: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/
    what am i driving at ?
    -----------------------1-----------------------
    After first line of code
    boolean isPart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(request);netBeans 5.5 beta2 with bundled Tomcat 5.5.17 underlines this with warning saying that
    org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileUploadBase
    has been depreceted
    is it a reason for concern ?
    -----------------------2-----------------------
    Is it actually good idea to store images in db as blob ?
    what about large ammounts of text ?
    thank you
    -Dominik

    is it a reason for concern ?Yes.
    You should take a look at the method in the documentation and find out exact reason for depricating it.
    If it is depricated becouse they going to remove it in the future you should use the new alternative method becouse if you use the old method your app will not work in the future releases of the API.
    If it is depricated becouse it is not safe to use the method you should clearly understand the risks involved in using the method and see if that can give you any trouble in your project.
    -----------------------2-----------------------
    Is it actually good idea to store images in db as
    blob ?I think that it is ths best option available when you want to store binary data
    what about large ammounts of text ?You can use clob columns.
    By the way when you store files in the database its better you put some extra columns to store the file name and file type(mime) becouse you cant directly detect those things later by just looking at the data of the file.
