HTML Import at sneak peak, why not in it now?

Hi all,
So If been getting a hang on reflow and watched a lot of vids about because its just a wonderful way to get a nice responsive website. Now we are currently on Reflow Preview version 6 and the HTML import is still not embedded.
If we take a look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSDuP1j4JVk at 5:20 we see Adobe's Paul Trani importing a HTML file made in Adobe Edge Animate for his responsive website. Now 1 year has passed since that video has been published. So if the technology was there 1 year ago, why can't we experience it yet? Clearly it worked there. Even if it would still be in a Development stage (as the whole Reflow project is at this moment, since it still a preview).
Any thoughts on this matter?

PS. Adobe, keep up the good work with all the CC products, hope you can see into this matter and maybe got it working in Version 7

First, why not go ahead and update to 3.6.8 to see whether that makes any difference. Also, for security reasons, you really should.
Second, the registry settings sometimes get crossed up. Making IE your default browser, and then switching back to Firefox, rewrites those settings.
Any luck?

RoboHelp 8 HTML import of Word file does not create topics

I imported a large Word file (350+ pages, 4Mb) into RoboHelp 8 HTML (8.0208).
In the status bar at the bottom of the screen, it said "Converting filename.doc..." with a progress bar and then (way too fast for a large file) it said "Ready".
RoboHelp created the project files (.xpj, empty .hhc, etc.) and NO topics.
I tried several times, with and without conversion settings. I tried opening an empty project first and then importing the file, but no luck.
The original file had a few tracked changes and footers which I removed.
I tried copying the file and deleting all but one heading and paragraph.
Nothing helped.
A friend with RoboHTML 2002 was able to convert it with no problem.
By the way, when I converted the file to.rtf, I was able to import it and compile it. But this is not the optimal way to do it.
Any suggestions are welcome.

So sorry. My bad. Upon re-reading what I replied to I see that. I really should have read more carefully. Then again, I'm fighting the beginnings of a head cold today. ICK!
What if you take an approach I've seen my dear friend Peter suggest from time to time. Make a copy of that Word document. Slice off the bottom half and try importing the first half. If that works, you know the issue is in the bottom half. If not, repeat the process and try the other half. Work that way until you either get it all imported or until you isolate the problem area.

Import Files into iTunes: Why not mp3?

I created a simple workflow and saved it as a Finder plug-in. Two questions:
1) Anyone know why iTunes allows (under +Add to Library+) the import of mp3 files, but when creating an Automator workflow using the +Import Files into iTunes+, the mp3 option is not supported. In other words, you have to use a different Automator function like +Add Songs to Playlist+. This works too, but it takes a long time because iTunes has to convert each file to AAC. The +Add to Library+ function in iTunes is wicked fast, and I don't care what format the files are in.
2) After creating a Finder plug-in and wanting to delete it, where does it live? I can't find it. Spotlight can't find it. I just want to remove it.

Thanks for the reply, red. It seems that +Import Audio Files+ supports mp3, but the description on the +Import Files into iTunes+ doesn't specifically include mp3. I suppose a quick test will reveal. The original reason for the question is that the Automator workflow seems to force a conversion of each mp3 file -- even when choosing the mp3 option in +Import Audio Files+ -- which obviously slows down the process.
When from iTunes I choose Add to Library, navigate to the target folder and click OK, iTunes completes the 80-or-so files in no time.
Thanks for the tip on where to find the plug-in. I deleted it. The Automator desktop apps seem to work better.

With previous editions of iTunes for Windows, I could play a CD at the same time as it was being imported. That does not work anymore. Why not, and is there a way to do both with the most current version?

That is your answer then.
Large is 960x540
Medium is 640x480 (or 720x480)
Mobile is probably 480x272.
It is offering you the sizes that make sense given the size of your source material.
As a trick, you might try this. In your project, put a short 640x480 clip in the project as the first clip of the project. Then keep the rest of the project as is. See if it will let you share now in Medium. It will not look as good, because there are not enough pixels to cover the Medium size, but it might work.

I passed through all the described problems in the list, and after doing several tests the error that you described is always present if the "jpcsclite_en_US.properties" is not present in the same place of the "jpcsclite.properties". I really don't know the reason, I just copied and pasted the same file, renamed the copy and the error was gone... though both of them include the line where the .dll is found!
That's how it worked for me, but if anybody knows how it works without that dirty trick, it would be good.

PS: Just in case that somebody is using the version JCSDK3.0, I did not find the .dll in that version, but in the JCSDK2.2.2 *(:-S)*

Dear Naga,
from the information you provided, I can see two problems:
1. "Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database J2E: ERR_USRFAIL: user authorization failed".
Are you sure you used the correct user/password combination to logon to your instance?
Some more information is maybe provided in the dbm.prt file.
2. The knldiag.err error should have nothing to do with the first error. The error message "IO Error on 'C:\sapdb\J2E\sapdata\DISKD0001', not enough space on disk" relates to a problem when the instance is installing and the first datavolume is being created on the filesystem. Apparently, there is/was a problem with the needed space.
Problem 2 would normally tell me that the J2E instance hasn't been created properly AT ALL! CAn you check if there's enough diskspace available on your C-drive? Can you please also check how large the file 'C:\sapdb\J2E\sapdata\DISKD0001' is?

I have been looking at my data at the position indicated by the function as a peak, and it is correct at that place the wave has its peak, but the value provided by the function is higher than the actual value at that point.

The help makes it clear that the VI will make a quadratic fit to the data, so the locations are not integers (i.e. not aligned with you exact data). From that analysis, the peak is between two of your points, and slightly above the neighboring data.
See the coercion dot. Make the "locations" array DBL (Why did you change it to I64, that makes no sense at all!)

Embedding Fonts - Why not?

We are really excited about the news of iBooks Author, since we are graphic designers who run a large font website. The bad news, iBooks doesn't support embedding fonts in the iBook format. Why not? (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5072) - The only work around seems to be if you publish in PDF format, but of course that limits things. Various foundries and font sites offer licenses for eBooks, so iBooks should support this, it's an important aspect to the book design and communication abilities..
Please fix this in the next update? Pretty please....?

In the ISO 8879 SGML family of which ePub and HTML are implementations the author inserts character information and content information considering the logical reading order. Appearance and geometry is not defined early binding by the author, but late binding by the audience. Because Apple controls the configuration of the obligatory CMAP Character Map in the SFNT Spline Font files available for rendering appearance, the author is guaranteed that the character information will map as intended in whatever appearance the audience chooses. This is *not* the case with glyph encoding and character substitution, whether in Adobe Type 1 font program dictionary format or in Adobe and Heidelberg SFNT Spline Font files which should have been sold with character encoding and glyph substitution, but which were in fact sold with glyph encoding and character substitution. Essentially, Apple is doing in the iBook Store what Microsoft did in Word 1992, that is, supporting obligatory CMAP shaping only for character-glyph mapping, and supporting system supplied SFNT Spline Font files for appearance approximation over third party selectable font files (whose character-glyph mapping may be completely off the wall).
There is the additional problem that adding logical reading order to PDF in order that it may reflow for PDA Personal Digital Assistants with different geometries is as complex, if not more so, than doing the same for a model for document markup that was designed for defining reading order. PostScript and PDF were designed for defining layout rendering order, not for defining logical reading order.

Import Text Files Into Apple Notes?

Is there a way for me to automate importing text files into Apple Notes? I can certainly do this manually via copy/paste, but have over 700 files to transfer.

Automator is Apple's simple way to do tasks like this, but Notes app doesn't have any actions for this so I assume you need to use Applescript to do this. Double check Automator - I am on 10.9 & maybe 10.10 added support for Notes in Automator? Enter 'Note' in the search field to see if Automator can make new Notes.

See the "Create New Stylized Note" script <- click script icon to download it, copy & paste seems to fail because of how the browser displays characters.
You would need to adapt that script to import from the text files.
I'm not sure you really want to do that anyway - Notes app has such poor support that putting serious data into it looks like a mistake - how difficult will it be to export data when Apple eventually abandon it? It seems like a toy app to me for new iPhone users, it;s unclear if it will ever be able to compete with other options. There are third party apps to export from Notes.app, but why rely on third parties? A notes app should allow you to import & export your data!

It will handle notes as text files if you desire, so you can store them in Dropbox if you want. You can also set it to sync to Simplenote on iOS.

If you need images within notes or text styling you could use Evernote or one of the many other notes apps.
Sorry to sound so negative on Notes.app, it's OK but I don't think its the best place to put over 700 notes.

Id3 tags made easy...why not?

I use a couple of different programs when working with ID3 tags. With one it uses the CDDB to autotag the songs. The other I use for cleaning up tags when needed, or use it to rename files for songs based on the tags.
What I'm wondering is why iTunes couldn't incorporate something similar to look up track info? I know you can do it when importing a CD using iTunes, but why not for mp3s that you get elsewhere? Is it just because iTunes only wants you to get music you buy from them, thus they make it hard?

This is not a problem with iTunes. If you're dealing with AIFF or WAV files, then little if any metadata will/can be preserved. Apple Lossless, AAC and MP3 all retain metadata when transferring to another computer, providing the other computer is running iTunes or otherwise using software capable of reading the necessary metadata.
I should perhaps point out that passing along your music files to friends is usually in violation of applicable laws and regulations, unless you own full rights to the music.

Import PO subsequent Debit: Taxes not calculated as per tax Code in MIRO

I am facing the problem while taking Subsequent debit (MIRO) of Import PO. I am using service Tax code 10.30 % .
When I entered the amount 4000 INR. It calculated the taxes 348.18 which is not correct.
I also check condition in FV13 its properly maintained.

Is there an answer to why notes go missing?

Is there an answer to why notes go missing on the iPhone?
Is it a software problem?
I now don't have any faith with using the notes app as important things I've taken note of disappear.

If you backed up when they were there, you can restore with a backup. You might also want to ask on a Yahoo forum if there's another way.
I would think it would be OK to use the Notes app. I don't sync it with anything and I've never had any trouble. You might also look at 3rd party apps... I've heard that Evernote is very good.
