  • HTML signatures distorted inside the Signatures and Stationery window preview/edit field, but display fine when used

I created an HTML signature and imported it into Outlook 2010/2013 by placing the .htm file into my %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures folder. The signature looks and works great, however the signature looks distorted / severely squished in width when attempting
to view the signature in the Signatures and Stationery window within Outlook. What would be causing this? Is this a common issue when using .htm signatures?
It isn't too big of an issue as the signatures do work as expected when in normal use, however some users would like to tweak theirs using Outlook's built in editor and are not currently able to.

In my experience at least, that's a normal behaviour. The editor isn't fully WYSIWYG so if you do anything complicated in there it won't always give an accurate representation of what will eventually be output when you insert it into a message. I've seen
the same thing with signatures copied from elsewhere, displaying fine in the email but not in the editor, so it's not restricted to imported .htm files.

  • Can't get HTML to display in Apple Mail signature

I'm stumped. I cannot get the HTML I wrote to display! I followed all the steps properly with creating a webarchive file, renaming so that it shows up in Apple Mail. But then when I go back in and see the signature, it's there but it doesn't display the HTML ... it just displays the code!
I've tested the HTML code on a webpage, and it works just fine. I have my message format as Rich Text.
The code is (with carets turned into {}'s here for display purposes):
    {a href="http://www.tweetbars.com"}{img src="http://bar.tweetbars.com/azdesertfather.gif" /}{/a}{/center}

I received this idea from several sites that have had people successfully do it ... they all give the same basic set of instructions to do it, and it seems to work for them and those who comment after them ...

  • HTML Signature Not Displaying Images

I have an html signature which I tried to add to my Mac Mail app by following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ukn9H3AEEA.

  • HTML Signature that is not viewable by other recipients

I have a signature that I use for my company. It is a png file that is about 7k. Some recipients see the signature logo at the bottom of the emails and some do not. What do I need to do so that all email recipients see the logo?

    You sure can!
    Here's a tutorial I used to do this: http://allforces.com/2006/04/14/css-signatures/
Basically, you create an HTML signature using CSS. The trick is to put the image online, and point to it in you HTML file. For example, the picture I use in my signature is actually stored on my googlepages site. I found the URL of the file, then used that in my HTML file. When others open the email, the image displayed is from googlepages, not anything that was attached to the email. The downside is that if someone uses a program like Mail, if they look at the email when they are offline, the image won't display.
The tutorial shows you how to replace a signature file created by Mail with one of your creation - a bit convoluted, but it worked.
Lastly, I haven't asked others what they see from their various email providers. Gmail will pull it up with no pictures and give users the option to either display pictures or not. Outlook shows it fine... not sure about anything other than that.
Let me know if you want an example file you could work with if you are unfamiliar with HTML and CSS. I was clueless but found my way using the site above and the various HTML/CSS tutorials available online.
    Thanks for reading my novel.

  • Why do image links in my HTML signature get turned into inline images?

I have written a program to create HTML signature files for email programs at my workplace.
The signature file uses URLs to images hosted on a server. This appears to work fine, but I've noticed that when I send an email from Icedove (Thunderbird rebadged for Debian), the image links automatically get turned into attachments. These are then visible as base64-encoded MIME blocks in the email source.
I cannot find any option for altering this behaviour anywhere in the application, even in the Config Editor.
Can anybody advise me how to change this behaviour? Thanks in advance.
I am running Icedove v.17 for Debian 64 bit.

By default Thunderbird attaches all images, even if the <img> element points to a remote resource. Most e-mail clients block remote content these days unless the user authorizes it (see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/991448 this thread] for an in-depth discussion) due to potential privacy/tracking issues. Thus, the image your are adding as a remote resource may not display the first time the recipient opens the message.
If you want to change your code respectively anyway, have a look at [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_complex_mails_with_inline_images#Remote_images this article]. You'll have to add an attribute <img '''moz-do-not-send="true"'''> to the element which will Tell Thunderbird to ''not'' download the image from the server and embedding it into the message on sending.

    Hi,
From the description, when you reply/forward an email, the signature appears under the quoted email, am I correct?
Have you tried open Outlook in safe mode and test again? Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /safe and press Enter.
In addition, please try recreating the signature and test again.
Please let me know the result.

  • HTML Signature Problem - Images not showing

    Hi all,
I've got some HTML signatures that I use in Mail (v4.3) on Snow Leopard (10.6.4). They were created quite a while ago and have been working fine. BUT... I need to update them to change some of the information. So, I went through the usual rigamarole:
    - Edit the HTML file
    - Open the HTML file in Safari (v5.0.2)
    - Save the file as a webarchive from Safari
    - Find the appropriate file in the ~/Library/Mail/Signatures folder
    - Replace the file with the new webarchive (renamed)
When I do this, now, Mail will not show the image that I have in the signature (which is a background image placed in the file using CSS and referenced as a URL from my web server).
Does anyone know why the old signature (created the same way, but using an old version of Mail & Safari) works... but doing it all over again using the current version doesn't?
    Thanks!

Anything you paste in the HTML is your responsibility. iWeb doesn't care about it. If it doesn't work, too bad.
Perhaps Posterous doesn't like to be displayed.
    Ask them.
And instead of pasting garbage (not pretty stock standard) you may want to consider using proper code  :
    <iframe src="http://hamptoncycles.posterous.com/" frameborder="0" width="900" height="1050" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe
You'll never now if that is the problem.

I'm often having issues with clients not seeing or being able to open attachments, font formatting changes (on the pc end) and the inability to use HTML signatures to promote our company brand.

I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail.

  • HTML Signature Help In Mail

I have created an HTML signature via the methods posted in many places on the internet (Create HTML, Open in Safari, Save as .webarchive, Replace signature file in ~Library/Mail/Signatures folder, Reopen Mail, etc.) and I am still having an issue.
My HTML file works fine in Safari and looks how I want. When I compose a new email, the HTML signature shows up in the message exactly how I'd like. However, when I send the message, the HTML signature no longer appears. It's missing from the message in the Sent Folder and it does not show up as anything in the sender's email program. They don't get a box with a question mark in it, they just don't get anything as a signature. I've sent it to people (and myself) who use Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, and Outlook and the HTML signature doesn't show up on any of them.
Anyone know why it looks great during the composition of the email but just isn't getting sent out?

I've selected that new signature to be used in my emails, and it shows up when I compose a new email. It just doesn't appear when the email is sent, nor is it in the message when you open in from the Sent Folder. Somewhere after hitting "Send Message" it disappears.

  • Creating mac mail html signatures

Hi all:  All the other mail products (Outlook, etc) allow easy creation of mail signatures as HTML's by a simple click of a link icon.
I cannot find any mention of html signatures in mac mail except for those who know how to write code.
Is this the case?  If so, whatever happened to Apple being the user friendly platform as opposed to PC's?
Very frustrated and ironic that owning a mac (since 1985--of course, not  the same one) is requiring me to hire someone who speaks and writes computerese.
    Please advise.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location.

    Hi, guys
I cannot view delegate mailbox in Outlook. Following is my configure.
    I have two mailbox A-User and B-User
Login Outlook as A-User, click File -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access, add B-User and give Editor permission of Inbox.
Right click A-User's root inbox and select Properties -> Permission, select B-User and check "Folder visible".
Login Outlook as B-User on other computer, click File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings, select B-User and click Change -> More Settings -> Advanced, add A-User.
Now I can see a root A-User in Navigation Pane. But when I click it, it shows
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location."
    or
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found".
I searched some solutions from internet, but all of them don't work. Could you give some suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
First, please double check if you have given the right permission to B-User on your step 2.
In addition, we can try to give a higher permission to the B-user to check the result.
Please feel free to post back and let me know the result.

    Nurit,
The point is that that button should not be there, if the preference setting is as you say. This indicates the preference setting is stuck, and that is what I was trying to help you resolve.
The full purge is done as follows:
Quit Mail, and in the Finder open Home/Library and locate the Mail folder. Control-click over the Mail folder, and choose Duplicate -- then drag the resulting copy to the Desktop for temporary backup. Next, open Home/Library/Preferences and find the com.apple.mail.plist file and drag it to the desktop.
Relaunch Mail, which will open as though new, and when prompted to import anything DECLINE. Instead, re-enter your account info, and Mail will re-discover the account folders for your accounts, and all should be well, after setting preferences as you desire.
Ask any needed questions, and keep us posted.

  • HTML code displays on one line in browser view source

    Hi,
In Dreamweaver, my HTML code displays returns, spaces, etc. However, in the view source option in a browser (Firefox in particular), all the code is displayed on one single line. I only found about this because I was having problems with my Google Ads not displaying. (A Google customer service person helped me to find a workaround for this since I still haven't figured how to get my code to display correctly.) So I have gone to Preferences in DW and changed my Code Format Line Break type. The result is the same with each of the three options: the code is all on one line when you check it under view source in a browser. (The server is Linux.)
Does anyone know how to fix this? Also, I think I know how this happened in the first place. I copied my code to TextEdit for a quick backup the other day, and then I pasted it back to DW. Bad idea? Is the only way to get the code back to normal to re-write it in a new HTML file in DW?

Pssh. Problem solved, but I'm not quite sure how. I did go back and try to clean up some redundant CSS and other things, but the HTML/CSS validator still shows that I have this one invalid <header> tag (www.nextmontenegro.com), but since that was written as part of the DW template, I just left it. Weird. Anyway, the code flows down the page now.
Thanks for the quick replies and helpful hints:-)
