HTML Signature in Mountain Lion!

Hi folks.
I used to have an HTML signature in Lion and previous OS. It was a challenge, but alays worked. I see that the webarchive suffix is not replaced by the mailsignature suffice. Thought a simple replace would work as in of the previous process. Not working.
Two questions:
1. Does anyone have instruction for Mountain Lion?
2. Why does Apple make this so difficult? I want to use native OS apps, but in a case like this, Postbox seems like a MUCH better option. Help!

Any help with this issue will be very much appreciated.
I have just updated to Mountain Lion, it seems to work ok aside from "Mail signatures".
I am creating a new signature for my company and noticed that in Mountain Lion, mail creates a new signature with the .mailsignature file type. When I try to replace it with my .webarchive file, it does not work. Has anyone figured out a way to get my HTML signature into Mail?

My mail signatures are not working in Mountain Lion. Whenever I send a new mail, the signatures I set up under that account are not showing up. The ony choices I have is 'none' or 'edit signatyres'. I can got to edit signatures and then copy paste the signature, but this gets frustrating.

Creating HTML document in Mountain Lion

I am trying to convert completely over to Mountain Lion. One important issue remaining is being able to create an HTML file from a document. I used Appleworks a lot because it allowed me to save anything I created as an HTML page. How can I do something similar in Mountain Lion? Pages won't
allow me to do it. I heard old version of Pages would do it, but that won't help.
I suppose I can buy some editor or converter, but seems such a waste to pay for something that an old version of Appleworks would do so easily and
perfectly for free. There must be a simple solution to create HTML from a word ( not Word ) document.

HTML Mail Signatures changed in OSX Mountain Lion

Hi,
The way i usually set up a HTML email signature is by creating a new signature in mail, finding that .webarchive file in Library > Mail > Signatures and replacing it with the newly made .webarchive file of the HTML signature. This has worked fine up until I needed to do the same for a MacBook Pro running on Mountain Lion.
It seems the file type Mail creates for new signatures is now called .mailsignature. I tried using the same method as above but changing the extension to the new format but its not working.
Does anyone know how i can get my html sig into Mail for Mountain Lion?

Problem solved!

I just downloaded Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro. Firefox and Safari are showing up in HTML (I think) and many web pages are garbled and unreadable.

I just downloaded Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro 10.8.2 Now Safari and Firefox are not functioning right - sites are garbled, show up as bulleted blue phrases, don't react. I am trying to search train tickets in Paris and can't do it. My e-mail (Shaw) defaults to HTML and I cannot access the Bay site through e-mail. Help.

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem? After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Yesterday, the signatures were stacking instead of switching to the one I wanted to choose.

I had this and fixed it.
I had upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures in Mail were fine. But then about a week later, I got a new computer and used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff to the new machine. Upon opening Mail, I had all the correct Signature information in the Preferences>Signatures window, but nothing worked.
After lots of hunting, I found the Signature Folder. It's in:
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
Looking at my previous setup (which works) I saw in that folder two types of files: .webarchive and .siganture
Looking in my new machine's Signature folder, I saw only the .webarchive folders, not the .signature folders
Since this was literally a clone of my previous setup to a new machine, here's what I did:
1. Quit Mail
2. In Problem machine, go to
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
3. Move the Signatures folder someplace safe, but out of the MailData folder
4. Get the Signatures Folder from the working install (like a backup) and copy it to the MailData folder on the problematic machine
5. Start Mail on the problem machine
This worked for me. I don't know why Migration Assistant didn't copy the full signature folder, but this fixed it. It worked perfectly partly because I had just backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner and the very next day set up the new machine. I don't know where Lion or earlier versions of mail stored signatures, but the absence of the .signature filetype seems to be the problem.

HTML not reading correctly after Mountain Lion Update

Since I updated to Mountain Lion I am getting a consistent symbol in place of HTML on Safari and Mail ( the 'A' in a box. see the attached image). Firefox works much better than Safari but it still appears, although a lot less. I haven't found anything about this anywhere I've looked. Anyone have an idea on a fix?

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

HTML format only for websites, mountain lion

I recently upgraded my girlfriends MacBook Pro 13 inch Early 2011 to mountain lion. Upon the update, everything works except the browsers and the app store. No thumbnails or icons of any sort can be displayed. Websites are displayed in HTML. And when i try to update from the app store, which also looks crazy, i have the attached error returned to me:

Solution found. My apologies to Apple. The problem of failing httpd was due to the fact that I had changed the SSH default port from 22 to 443. This was not done in a brutal way, but as recommended in the relevant posts that can be easily googled (New .plist file, new service in /etc/services launchctl load etc).
The fact that SSH was listening to the 443 port caused apparently a conflict with Apple's server httpd implementation.
There is a router in between that can forward ports. This router was re-programmed to forward port 443 from the internet to port 22. After a few restarts the SSH and Websites seem to function flawlessly.
Just for info, this is our second router used mostly for testing and back office development. Our productive router is directly connected to the internet, running firewall etc.
My advice is the following: Apple servers work! Just install a router that does the correct port forwarding according to your needs and leave the server alone, as designed by Apple.

P.S. The SSH port conflict with SSL was suspected from the beginning. It's because apache ctl -k start worked (in the wrong directory) that made things complex.

Right after upgrading to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro, some websites on Firefox won't load videos and some look like html (or something like that).

I've used Firefox for a while on my MacBook Pro (about 1.5 years old) and it's worked great. Should be fully updated too. Immediately after I upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion, some websites wouldn't load correctly (looked like html or something). Also some websites like YouTube show video fine, but then at least one other website doesn't show the video window at all, much less play it. Safari doesn't have that problem. Any ideas?

Did you try turning off power nap?

Running PHP within HTML in Mountain Lion Server

I just upgraded from Lion Server to Mountain Lion Server yesterday. Under Lion I had pages that had simple PHP instructions, primarily includes, that I could run without saving the pages with the PHP extension. My recollection is that I modified either the .htaccess file or the httpd.conf file to allow Apache to run PHP code embedded in HTML pages. I can't find an .htaccess file in ML Server, and modifying the code in httpd.conf doesn't seem to work.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The configuration files live in/Library/Server/Config/Apache2, and the primary configuration file ishttpd_server_app.conf not httpd.conf.

How can I add social media linked icons to my mac mail signature in osx mountain lion?

I've added png files to my signature and then hit command k and added a website to "link" each, however when i send the message the icons are there, but they don't "link", as in I can click on them and the png file just bounces back up.
I am sure that Apple Mail has a way to do this, as every other carrier seems to have figured this out!

If I wanted a signature with a logo, I'd create an HTML document containing text and an embedded image. Adding, for example, facebook and twitter icons would be done in just the same way, by embedding their icons into the same HTML signature document.
What's stopping you just adding more graphics?

Re-Install CS3 on Mountain Lion 10.8

Hi,
I upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion (ML). The installed CS3 Design Premium worked well after that. For some reason I had to repair the user rights on my disk. After that, when I wanted to start Photoshop e.g., I became the warning-message that my license expired and I will have to reinstall CS3.
I googled and found the Adobe License Recovery Tool. But this wont work under ML. So I decided to uninstall the whole CS3 package. When I tried to install the CS3 package, I became an error message "cannot install".
Does anyone have had the same problem and solved it?

RoundCube Webmail Authenticating against Open Directory on Mountain Lion 10.8.x

I've been battling this issue for over a month with no success. Here is what we got:
Mac Mini Server running Mountain Lion Server 10.8.2 running Calendar, Contacts, Mail and Web services.
With there being no webmail present I've gone thru the process of installing RoundCube.
I'm using Postgres as the database.
When I test the ability to login I get the following error messages in the console.app

The first line I find the most interesting but have had no success determinign exactly what it means.
I'm using open directory to authenticate and it is working perfectly with every other service so I'm led to believe it's an issue between RoundCube and Open Directory.
ANY help would be appreciated emmensely!

Sorry about taking so long to get back on here working on this. I've switched over to MySQL. I had a hard time because mysql.sock was located under /tmp/ rather than /var/mysql/ but I fixed that by using the following command:
sudo ln -s /tmp/mysql.sock /var/mysql/mysql.sock
