Html system panel (no program, only idea)

Question

Hi everyone,
I was thinking about creating a new system panel, where one could place some widgets, perform system actions, etc.
Something like dmenu, or awesome wm bar. Why not use them?
They are quite flexible, but what I miss is the rendering of html, and I mean rich html, with ajax, etc.
My idea would be to create such a minimal panel embedding webkit widget. The program would take an url argument, which
then would be rendered, of course also arguments like position and size.
In this way widget input would be very flexible. One could create for example a simple widget in php, or embed fragment of a web site.
Obviously this solution is more heavyweight then dmenu or other simple panels.
On the other hand if I look at the web then I see unlimited possibilities and great flexibility.
Anyone has some thoughts? Potential users, developers?

Was the panic logged? (Blinking keyboard lights indicates a kernel panic.)
If not, see if you can cause it while not in X, and it should come out on your console.
