Html to application

are there any mac osx software that lets to compile html to application? i have to create a video book and i thought of this way. one reason- there are many such html2app compilers for win platform, thus my vbook can be also ported there. secondly- don't even start about talking xcode!:)... i don't have energy and time for that.
other possibilities?
dvd is an option, but i want to leave it as the last resort- not everybody has dvd players. and argument 'well, 60%'have' is a poor argument.

Could you give a specific example of such a Windows program? That would help people identify a possible Mac counterpart.

  • How to Use Mobile Service in HTML/JavaScript Application

The Windows Azure Mobile Service is a back end tool for mobile applications. It supports various platforms, such as Windows Store, Windows Phone 8, iOS and Android. The Windows Azure
Mobile service can also support HTML/JavaScript. This article helps you to get a basic idea of how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service in HTML/JavaScript applications.
Let us start with a Quick startup project provided by Microsoft. A Quick startup is a simple demo project that can help us to understand how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service with HTML/JavaScript. So let's start from the Quick startup project.
Login into in the Windows Azure portal and use the following procedure.
This article assumes you already have a Windows Azure account and the mobile service is enabled in your account.
    1. Create a new Windows Azure Mobile Service
Click on the +New button from the left corner and select Compute -> Mobile Service and then click on the "Create" button.
The Windows Azure portal popup creates a mobile service wizard when you click the Create button. Windows Azure asks you to enter the mobile service name as shown in the following image:
Select the database options and region for your mobile service and click on the "Next" button.
Once your mobile service is successfully created, the portal will show all your mobile services as shown in the following images.
Ok! We have created a new mobile service successfully. Let's move to our subsequent steps.
    1. Quick startup Project
As we all know, the Windows Azure Mobile Service can support many platforms such as Windows Store, Windows Phone 8, iOS, Android and HTML/JavaScript. This article only tells us about the new HTML/JavaScript platform that is recently added to the Windows Azure
    Mobile Service.
In the image above, we are in the quick startup page where the Windows Azure Mobile Service allows the user to choose their platform. I have selected the HTML/JavaScript Platform.
In the image above, we found 3 quick steps that can allow us to run <g class="gr_ gr_74 gr-alert gr_gramm Grammar" data-gr-id="74" id="74">a HTML/JavaScript</g> sample project.
    1. Create Table: In this step the user needs to create a table that can used by the sample project, once you hit the create TodoItem Table button. The Portal will create a TodoItem table in your mobile service. You
can check this table by clicking on the data tab(menu).
    2. Download and run your app: In this step the user needs to download the Quick startup project that is provided by the Windows Azure portal. Click on the "Download" button and download the project. You will
see the following files in the quick startup project.
The Server folder contains some files to setup this project locally. The user should run the file from the server folder corresponding to their OS. I am using Windows OS so I ran the <g class="gr_ gr_80 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace"
    data-gr-id="80" id="80">lanch</g>-<g class="gr_ gr_79 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="79" id="79">windwos</g> file to setup this project locally in
    IISExpress.
Press r and enter the key, you will see IISExpress started. Do not close this Windows and open your browser and request the http://localhost:8000/ page.
Enter the Item name and click on the add button. Your Item will be added to the TodoItem table.
    3. Configure your host name: This step is a very important step for any HTML/JavaScript application that uses the Windows Azure Mobile Service. In this <g class="gr_ gr_83 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins
replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="83" id="83">step</g> the user must register their website name in the Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS). By default, "localhost" is added by the Windows Azure Mobile Service
so your quick startup project can run without making any CORS setting changes. The user can add their website domain name by clicking on the configure tab (menu).
The user can add as many website domain names as needed.

are you asking a question or did you just post a tutorial here? you might want to post it as a blog post or wiki entry instead.

  • HTML DB application using table in a different schema

I need to create a new HTML DB application. The table is in a different schema than mine. The DBA granted me rights to see it and I can see it from iSQL. HTML DB does not give the alternative of selecting this table.

    This thread covers your issue.
New to HTML DB, have questions about service admin and schemas
Ask your DBA to add workspace to schema mapping.

  • How to embed and play mp4 video in HTML AIR application?

Adobe Air HTML / JS application compiled from SDK command line.  I am not using flash pro or flash builder to create the application.
I was using dreamweaver but the dw air plugin seems to have stopped being developed so I switched to using the command line tools.
I am creating desktop air application that has embedded mp3 audio and also I want to embed mp4 video.
Using jQuery and the AIR js plugin I am able to play audio via buttons hooked up via jQuery and the AIR js plugin from the SDK.
What I am doing is creating proofs for clients in AIR and sending link to the client to download the application.  I embed the media because I do not want to place them on a website where it could possibly be seen by non-clients and get picked up in the SE's.
I am finding it hard to understand the AIR process for playing video.  I read that it is the same procedure as audio but it does not work.
If it was hosted on youtube or somewhere embedding the web player would be simple, just copy paste some code and it works.  When actually embedding the video say mp4, f4v, mov, wmv or similar file formats I can't get AIR to play the video.  Audio, not a problem it works great.
I would like to do the following with video.
Embed the actual file in the AIR app.  I can do this, it gets embedded.
Play, pause and stop the video - Can't get this to work
Get the current stop point and be able to start the video by sending a start point - This is all working with audio I just want to do it with video.
I have searched the forums, the search engines, youtube and read through the documentation on Air but the video does not work at all.
I need code samples and direction on how to make an embedded video play inside of a desktop air application using the HTML / JS air model. I am using the command line tools to create the air package and test the air app.
Please help if you have figured this out.
    Thank you.
Not sure if this matters but I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit as my development machine.

In addition I also can not get html5 video to play in the adobe air app.  Would this issue be tied to the above?

  • How to attach a word/excel document to an html DB application

    Hi,
We have a requirement to attach a document (word/excel etc..) to a customers record in a HTML db application. How can we do this?
Are there any application wizards to attach a document to the record, which can then be stored in the database as a BLOB field or can be stored in a file system on the application/db server itself.
    I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Sudheer

    Sudheer,
If you look at the How-to below you should get a good idea of how you can solve your problem, just modify to suit your application.

  • HTML DB application as portlet

Has anyone been able to add an HTML DB application as a portlet that is rendered inline in Portal? I'm trying this with Portal 9.0.2.2.14 and Html Db 1.5.0.00.33. The html db application is registered as a partner application with the SSO server and the authentication is working fine.
I've set up the application as a url-based portlet and have the inlineRendering tag as 'true' in my provider.xml; the provider test page comes up fine. I registered the provider in Portal and added the portlet to a page tab.
However when I click on the tab, it briefly displays 'Redirecting to the login server for authentication' then the html db application takes over the browser window. I would like the application to render within the portlet window.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Angel

You don't have to upgrade your application server, only Web Clipping.
As far as I remember, Web Clipping was part of 9.0.2.6 - so all you need to do is download the pre-configured standalone OC4J which contains Web Clipping, and follow the very simple installation instructions.

  • Where are HTML DB applications under Apache?

There is advice to use for HTML DB administration, and also - for developemnt puporses the web applicatin with URL in form:
    http://server:port/pls/Database Authentication Descriptor/...
For me - it results in page not found...
Well - I have installed HTML BD (10.1.0.2.0) - but - under the
    C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\dbc_1\Apache\Apache\htdoc
there is no directories like \pls...
Are these application located in other places. My installation was succesfull (without erroras) and in installation log I can found that thousands of some DB entries - named 'pages' has been created in DB... Well - what is architeture of HTML DB application - are web pages saved in Oracle DB and as plain text HTML?

They are stored in the database under the flows users. Unfortunately, they are not in a format that is as friendly as html. The pages are rendered using pl/sql packages in the database.

  • How Protect HTML-DB applications

How can I protect HTML-DB own applications (Application Builder, SQL Workshop, etc). I’m afraid that password protection is not sufficient. Can I have some opportunity to protect HTML-DB applications by ROLES? Or can I install HTML-DB so that HTML-DB own applications is accessible over certain port? (my own applications is opened for everybody).

Indrek - If you don't need to do development on a certain instance, you can remove all developer accounts. If you need to use the HTML DB/Application Express-type user accounts for your applications to authenticate, you can just make them end user accounts (no dev/admin privs).
You can also restrict access to the development applications by IP address range. Use the site admin application (Home>Manage Service>Manage Environment Settings) and try the Restrict Access by IP Address setting.

  • Adobe AIR HTML/JS application and Windows Native Installer

    Hi,
I am building an Adobe AIR application with HTML and Javascript and I would like to know how to make an Windows Native Installer.
I am trying to build it with Flash Pro but it keeps returning the error 'Invalid SWF file'. At the application.xml file the <content> points to my index.html file. I don't use any SWF file. When I change this to point to the SWF it does build tha installer but the application loads the SWF.
Is there any way to build a Windows Native Installer and the initial content be an HTML file?
p.s. I tried to extract the files from the installer file and edit the application.xml there to point to the index.html. But I can't repackage the files to a valid air native installer.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Thank you for reporting this. The internal bug number for the issue is #2740755. The issue is currently under review and will be investigated by one of AIR team members.

  • Save custom order of an ul     (HTML/Javascript - application)

I created a simple application with HTML and jQuery, in which you can dynamically change the order of an unordered list (via drag'n'drop).
Now I want my application to remember the current order of the list when I close it. When starting the application, the custom order should be loaded.
Is it possible to simply copy the section of the HTML document between <ul> and </ul> to a file when closing?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • An HTML DB application over table with CDM RuleFrame

    Hi guys,
I have an Oracle Forms application we built using the CDM RuleFrame framework available with Headstart (an offering from Oracle Consulting). This framework allows us to validate all our business rules in the database using PL/SQL packages and DB triggers at commit time. When at least 1 rule is invalid, a generic exception is raised and all messages are available thru a call to a procedure that returns a PL/SQL table of records.
Now, we need to build a Web interface to that application and I need to know if we can reuse the same messaging framework we already have if we use HTML DB.
I don't know if it is relevant or not but Headstart does come with a mechanism to display those errors with the now defunct WebDB.
    What do you guys think?
    Thanks
P.S. Be gentle please as I have no experience (yet) with HTML DB

In this small example, you create a process and button which fires the process. Also, create an item called ERR_TXT. Make the process source:
    begin
    :foo := 1/0;
    exception when others then
    :ERR_TXT := sqlerrm;
    end;
When you run this page and click the button, you'll see that the item ERR_TXT contains the value:
ORA-01476: divisor is equal to zero
In your case, you'd be looking for a specific exception and you'd get the error messages out of the PL/SQL table rather than simply from SQLERRM.
Once you have the messages and assigned them to one or more HTML DB items you can print them out in separate region.

  • How can I protect my html/js application

    Hi,
I coded an air application using html/js, after packaging the app, I can rename the .air file to .zip and cas see what is inside : all my html/js/css files, it's the sam thing after installing the app : the end user can see the source code of my air application and I think this is very annoying : I can not protect my source code if I sell the application, and the end user can alter the source code witch can be very dangerous !!!
Is there any option is the adt program to obfuscate ou encode source code ??

    Hi samichang,
I am faced by exactly the same "difficulty". When developing non-trivial web- or AIR-apps the wish arises to protect the codebase in any way. Lastly I ended with 3 possibilities which I will have to ponder against each other:
    1. Using a strong JS code compressor (Google Closure Compiler!!!)
    2. Keeping as much logic as possible on the server side (no everywhere applicable)
    3. Coding valuable algorithms/calculations in a language like Java or C, compiling them and
using them via IPC (came up in AIR2) or TCP-Sockets.
What I'll definitely do is chasing my code abse through Google's Closure Compiler so that everybody trying to debug/modify my code has to sacrifice many many hours and some heavy headache. Sure, it's not very effective, but coding in AS3 and compiling to SWF isn't effective too. Thanks to SWF-Decompilers everyone can get the underlying code similarly crippled like the one produces by GCC.
    I appreciate any suggestions.

  • Adobe air html/js - application act like a browser.

I just started in Adobe air html/js . In the current application I want to do something like this .
I want to open the urls/web pages in the application and application should act like a web-browser to them .
But with that I want to modify the opened pages a little, like add some css/js to them.
Something like when you open Web pages in Firefox and a plugin (example grease monkey scripts) modifies the displayed content .
    Is it possible ?
I tried opening in iframe it works , but I cannot add my own  JavaScript to the page (is there any way in air to remove cross domain  strictness?).
Note: Please don't suggest that I fetch the html content of the page  and add it to the app body.  My app should really act as browser. (Adobe  air is webkit based so I think it can be achieved)

  • Building HTML Air Application in Dreamweaver CC

I need some help ASAP.  We were recently switched over to Creative Cloud, and besides many issues we are having with CC that I won't go into here, one thing that is an immediate need is figuring out how to build and publish Air apps?  All fo the extensions that I have found and instructions I have read do nothing to get it working.  I can't even find an air extension from within the extension search/manager within the application itself.  Does anyone have the specific extension as well as directions for getting it running?  It was fine in CS5.X but no love now.  Please help!!

Yes, why! Why doesn't this post have a clear answer but more importantly why doesn't Adobe have a well-published answer to removing this functionality from products and their future vision/plans for Air?
To answer your question directly, you're missing what comes before that sentence... "Can I create Adobe AIR applications with Dreamweaver? Yes. Dreamweaver CS5 (and later) provides native support for building and packaging JavaScript/HTML applications on Adobe AIR for the desktop."
The sentence you refer to is specific to mobile. I'm interested in creating Air apps for desktop directly from DW. It's confusing and misleading (not to mention frustrating) trying to find answers and solutions. Simply saying that this isn't the correct forum isn't helpful. Is there an article that you can point to from here about Adobe's decision to remove Air support?

basically we are trying to explore if it is possible to create a Hybrid android mobile app (coded partly in html 5) with mobilink sync (via ultraliteJ) .
We had had been using mobilink in our native android app to do the synching, can we trigger mobilink synch via html 5? if can, any tool / library which we need to use?
