HTML / Word Editor in SAP HR

Hi Experts
Can anyone please advise how can HTML / Word editor be configured in SO10. The only option right now is standard text editor and even after changing editor, it doesn't help. Please advise. thank you

Issue while saving long text through MS Word Editor in SAP

Hi All,
I am facing some issue while saving text through Word editor in SAP(like Notes in Installation or Long Text in device location).
After entering the text, when I am pressing the Back button, it says text transferred successfully, but when I try to see the text again, its not in the proper format.
Every time I go to the word editor, some text is deleted.

Opening MS Word Editor from ABAP Program

My requirement is to give two options. User can open Text Editor OR MS Word Editor from screen. Text/any data entered on this will then be saved.

Call transaction SE38, enter program RSCPINST and press F8. On the next screen,select Goto -> Set MS Word as Editor.

you can use an AttributeSet to apply the foreground color. Let's say, doc is a HTMLDocument, then SimpleAttributeSet set = new SimpleAttributeSet();

It is a Text editor in R/3 similar to Word.
Starting the PC Editor Manually
Procedure
1. Choose Tools -> SAPscript ->Standard text.
The dialog window Standard text: Requests appears.
2. Choose Settings -> PC editor. The dialog window SAPscript-Editor: Settings appear. If the line editor is marked, unmark it.
3. Choose Continue.
4. Enter a text name. Choose Standard text ® Create.
Result
The PC editor starts.
Reward if satisfied.

Editor for SAP-Script ?

i am wondering about the following issue:
i am sitting here on an SAP-course. in the used system here there is a graphical editor (looks a bit like word inplace in sap) when using sap-script.
in my company i only have a 'old style' editor.
what is wrong here ?

well you probably have not activated the new one, or you might have a SAP System release which does not support it.
BUT i really would advice you NOT to use the graphical editor anyway.
It does not work properly and can even destroy your whole form.
besides this i never saw any advantages of the new editor.

Use Word Editor for purchase order header text

Dear community!
Currently in our system when we create purchase order header text we are using the standard sap text editor.
I saw another system where they are using some kind of microsoft word editor plug in to create purchase order header texts and purchase order item texts.
I would like to figure out how I can activate this editor in the system.

MS Word integration with SAP CRM: can a PDF be created from the MS Word doc

I know have a better understanding of the topic but still have 2 open questions.
I now know that StreamServe cannot read .DOC files but can read and work with .PDF files.
Since we are in a SAP forum and not a StreamServe forum,
1/ I am wondering if SAP CRM 2007 can convert the MS Word generated and populated documents into .PDF. Possibly immediatly.
2/ Can the MS Word generated and populated documents be saved by SAP CRM 2007 as .XML files?

Dear All,
On my project, there is a requirement to generate ad-hoc and amendable letters in CRM (2007).
We might have +150 letters so I am thinking about using MS Word integration with SAP CRM to deliver this.
With SAP CRM 2007, I understand that it is indeed possible to generate WebServices that will then be consumed by Word templates through the mail merge functionality. So agents will not have to enter BP name, address and so on. All this can be done by configuration which is great.
My point of concern is how to integrate this design to StreamServe for printing purpose (we do not want to go into local printing)
Can StreamServe collects the Word generated document?
Should this Word document be converted as PDF before or can StreamServe do it?
Should StreamServe exploits the XML contents within the Word generated document?

    I upload an XML-Format template Word Doc to server as a MIME Object.
    When OfficeControl is started in Web Dynpro, OfficeControl automatically open the XML-Format template.
   For the first time, I get the XString-type Context attribute bind to the content of the Word Doc,
   then translate it to string, I got the XML-format content, it's great!
   However, after the first time, when I input any new contents in MS Word in Web Dynpro,
   no matter I execute "Ctrl + S" or click the "savedocument" button,
   when I translate the XString Context attribute to String, I got messy code. (but the first time, it is good plain text)
   I use the function module: ECATT_CONV_XSTRING_TO_STRING (good for first time, dump after first time),
   SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY, SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING (good for first time, messy code after first time).

Minimize the Html standard editor by default in Textarea

Hi,
I'm using Apex 3.0.1 for my application. I've used text area in the UI with the Html standard editor. I see that the page loads slowly coz the editor takes time to load with all the icons and stuff. Is there a way by which I can show the editor to be minimized on load? I think when required by clicking the 'arrow' icon the editor can be expanded. My application is more like a content management and so I'm using lots of text areas as this.
Can someone let me know if this is feasible to do and so if, how to achieve it?

There is no way of minimizing things in html.
Off course you can hide items with javascript for example, but that doesn't prevent it from loading, so your load time will not decrease.
If you put a condition on the item, it's not loaded at all so you save time.
Then there's the advanced way: Replace a normal text area with an Ajax call to a editor text area. But that's some more work and not standard apex.
