HTML5 audio player has no volume control

I'm using FireFox 20.0.1 & get no volume control on html5 audio player?
Is this broken in this version of FireFox?
Is it due to the plugins/addons conflicting?
Grateful for help & look forward to reply to get this fixed-thanks

Volume Control in Firefox 11+
This is an problem that has cropped up recently. Some of you may have noticed that the volume controls have disappeared from the audio player in Firefox 11+. True, you can mute it, and the volume controls are still controllable via the keyboard’s up and down keys, but the volume slider itself was removed due to two bugs. I assume this will return in the future, but for now, in case you were wondering what happened to them, it’s not your fault. (You can, of course, use the Media API to build your own set of custom controls.)

  • Where is the HTML5 Audio player in DWCS6 Cloud version?

I just joined the subscription version of the Cloud and re-installed DWCS6 from there and don't see the new updates I've read about.  Like the HTML5 Audio player I read about.  Where the heck is it?  Thanks!  So far this I'm not sold on this Cloud thing and the terrible support I received by phone with Adobe.

Well... it was a bit of a pain to be honest.  I had spoken to 3 different support agents who all had different information on what I needed to do to start using the Cloud.  So I became very confused on who was giving the right info.  When the account became active I went to update DW but it said I was up to date.  It was my 19 year old son who suggested I uninstall my previous version of DW and then download it and re-install from the Cloud.  I saved all my site logins first and noted which extentions I had.  Once I did that I was able to update to the latest version of DW which has the new HTLM5 Video and Audio plugins.
I spoke to 6 different people yesterday while I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours and not one of them gave the right info.  And I'll try and make this sound right, but 5 of those people were from a foreign country.  While they were polite for the most part, they were very hard to understand and quite often would put me on hold for 5 minutes while they asked someone else for answers.  I found myself not trusting anything they said because each one had different answers.  I finally complained to a supervisor and stated that for the amount of money I've invested in their products over the last 13 years, it's crazy to have such unprofessional support.
Sorry if I've ranted here but I feel it's part of the experience that I had that may help someone else as you mentioned.  Technically, trust your own intuitions or have someone with common sense around.
In closing, I did have to uninstall the programs I had previous to the Cloud and then reinstalled them to get the Cloud versions. AND I had to reinstall all of my DW and FW extentions.  Thankfully all of my site logins for DW were still there.
Now that I'm up and running it seems to be working fine.  But, not with much help from Adobe phone support.  They get a D minus.
Thanks for listening and good luck all.

  • Center an html5 audio player on a div

I have a symbol named AUDIOHOLDER
    I load with:
    var audio1 = sym.$("AUDIOHOLDER1");
    audio1.html('<audio controls> <source src="lesson1/assets/audio/audio1.mp3" type="audio/mpeg"> Your browser does not support the audio element. </audio>')
I cant get the standard html5 audio player to center horizontally and vertically in the audio holder
    Any ideas?

check out edgehero.com and use the center class.

  • Why does iphone has common volume control for ringer as well as Alarm?

Why does iphone has common volume control for ringer as well as Alarm? which is quite unusual. For Exp, In case i lower down my ringer for some reason instead of silent and forget to increase before i sleep, my morning alarm also remains at the same ringer level volume at which i can miss the alarm. Is it due to some specific reason or i have missed something to change in settings. Other phone like Samsung etc, they have separate volume control for ringer and to an extent, Nokia rings for Alarm even if the battery is completely discharged.

I have booked an appointment at my nearest Genius Bar which is 40 minutes away next week, so do I need a reciept or is the warranty checked from the serial number?
    No receipt needed.
and is it covered under Apple's 12 month warranty?
It very well may be covered, depending on what Apple finds.

  • How can i add an HTML5 audio player to iWeb?

I'm trying to add an HTML5 audio player to my iWeb website.
I tried using the java script codes from players like speakker, jquery or JMS. Even though I downloaded everything from their websites, when I sent the code to the HTML snipet of iWeb, nothing happened.
Do you know how I can do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brazilian_girl

Thank you so much for all your info, that really helps.
I read the instructions for the  speakker player, but they seemed so confusing to me in terms of how to do everything, setp by step in regards to iWeb.
So, let me make sure I got it:
    1) I go to my FTP site/hosting create a new folder
    2) add the music and the graphic content from the player (images form the buttons, etc...)
    3) get a link from the FTP hosting site with all this stuff
    4) Write the link in the code
    5) paste the code (with the link in it) into the HTML snipet widget of iWeb.
    Is this correct?
Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

  • Why did i get a different headphone from the one in the pic? It has no volume control button.

I am really dissapointed with my order. I bought an apple headphone with remote and mic online, and i received a headphone that doesnt look and function the same as the one advertised. It has no volume control button with the + and - signs. This is the second pairs i bought the headphone and this one definitely looks different from the pairs i had previously. I hope someone can clarify this thing, and it's really troublesome if i wanted to return the headphone.

Are you sure you ordered the earphones WITH remote and volume control? Look at your bill; does it say something like "with remote and mic"? I think you should contact Apple Store for their assistance. Perhaps they really made a mistake and shipped you some old stock item. I agree, shipping and reshipping takes time and is troublesome. Hope you'll find a solution though.

  • Gen 5 has lost volume control of headphones and also radio does not recognize headphones are plugged in.

gen 5 has lost volume control of headphones and also radio does not recognize headphones are plugged in.  Any Ideas on a fix?

The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.
If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.

  • I purchased an iPod touch few months back. And i am very upset with the volume output it produces. iPod being an music player, has poor volume quality then my iPhone 3gs. Can anyone pls help. How do i rectify it?

i purchased an iPod touch few months back. And i am very upset with the volume output it produces. iPod being an music player, has poor volume quality then my iPhone 3gs. Can anyone pls help. How do i rectify it?

Problem with both the speaker and earphones?
Have you tried another pair of headphones?
Yu can try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Audio symbol from right hand bottom has disappeared, Volume control is not available.

I have HP compaq presario f 739 au, laptop running on windows XP. One fine morning I found audio missing, the symbol (a) for audio was not there, even volume control ( Realtek AC 97 ) could not be opened.
I tried few things like reloading UAA bus driver,(sp 33867) AND CONNEXANT SP 35258, ETC But I got messages like-Could not find media device for the driver" or There are no active mixer devices available. and am stuck without audio.
All other system functions are ok ,this sudden dis appearance of audio has put limits on use.
    Any suggestions?

  • Digital audio ouput - why no volume control??

This is a problem that has been around for a while (ie. pre-Leopard).
Why is there *no global volume control* when using digital audio output? This includes the inability to mute the output as well as adjust the volume with either the keyboard or the apple remote.
It is *particularly annoying* with Leopard's Front Row as music is not being played via iTunes anymore so I can't use the iTunes volume control...
Please fix this Apple, it can't be that hard. There is no logical reason for disabling volume control for digital outpu!
    Thanks,
    Paul Martin

    nitramluap wrote:
It IS possible, actually and its omission makes no sense.
Yes, it is possible but it isn't desirable. Here's why:
For any linear digital audio encoding process, the bit depth determines the resolution of the volume levels the format can reproduce. For example, for 16 bit audio there are 65536 possible volume levels between dead silent & the absolute maximum possible level (digital clipping). For 24 bit audio there are about 16.7 million levels.
So let's say that you want to turn down the volume at the digital output. The only way to do this is by throwing away all of those levels louder than the desired volume by scaling the output to what is effectively a lower bit depth. One half as loud means the most significant bit ("MSB") will never be a one; half that loud & the next MSB won't be used, & so on.
At first, this doesn't seem so bad but the problem is the human ear doesn't interpret "one half as loud" as you might think: hearing is logarithmic (which is why we usually use the logarithmic unit "dB" to measure it), so a sound that is 1/2 the intensity of maximum is only slightly quieter to the ear. Depending on the maximum level the digital input device can produce, it could easily be necessary to scale the digital output to one ten thousandth or less of the maximum output just to achieve a comfortable level, & to scale it much smaller still for background music levels.
So, for an effective volume control with a usable range from "very quiet" to "full tilt" you would really be going from "miserably inadequate resolution" to "high quality resolution."
If you want to hear just how miserable sounding the quiet settings would be, & you have any sound editing software that can change digital volume levels of samples, try this:
Select a short sample & reduce it by 40 dB. Save it & then renormalize that saved sample to full scale. Listen to the result & compare it to the original. Not too pleasant, is it?

I have build an Audio player with HTML5 and jquery. Its working fine in firefox browser in windows OS.
But when i run that code on Linux OS browser. It doesn't play the song. Is this a bug or there is problem in my code ? Please help

On Linux you need proper GStreamer support to play mp3 files with the HTML5 media player.
    *media.gstreamer.enabled = true

  • Adding an HTML5 audio player to a web page

I have a need to add audio player to a few band sites where there is a list of songs, or playlist, and someone can pick a song (or more) and the player will play it.  Since the HTML5 audio tag will work only on one file, the only way I have found to do this is to make a separate page for each sound file and have it use it's own instance of the audio tag.  I have seen many sites that have embedded audio players, but have no idea how they did it.  I do see several 3rd party players on the net that can be used.  Do any of you have any recommendations?
I am not looking to have music start automatically or on page load.

Look at Pickle Player.  A commercial player that works in all web devices with MP3 audio or MP4 video and supports playlists.

  • Mavericks has disabled volume control for mouse and headphones

Since updating to Mavericks, my mouse (Mad Catz MMO7) has lost the ability to control volume (all other features like mission control still work). Also my Bose QC 15 headphones lost the ability to control volume as well. Is there some kind of accessability option that needs to be enabled or is this just a bug?

Sometimes my Volume controls will stop working and I'll have to chill for a second, then try to move the volume (with my keyboard) in the opposite direction I was just trying to go on my mouse, and after a few tries, it'll work. Try that.
