HTML5 Extensions don't load within InDesign CC 2014

Hello there,
We've been having trouble getting any of the HTML5 extension examples provided on the Github repo to load.
The debugging boolean has been implemented (for both com.adobe.CSXS.4.plist AND com.adobe.CSXS.5.plist), and we can open the extensions in InDesign through the Window > Extensions pallete, only no HTML content loads.
The examples have been unedited — simply placed in the ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP path as indicated in the SDK.
Is there any reason why the HTML wouldn't display?
We are using InDesign CC 2014 10.0.0.70 Build on OS X 10.9.4
Thanks,
John Pobojewski / Thirst

Hi,
Ignore my last post,  I didn't notice you had already posted the solution.
Actually, you can just kill the cprefsd process for your user. The process will automatically restart. Alternatively, you can log out, and log in. No need for a full restart.
Best regards,
Hallgrimur

  • Unable to load Adobe InDesign CC 2014 Type Library (Version 1.0)

    Good evening,
I've just upgraded ID from CC to CC 2014 and now a script that had always run without issue now won't work. I get an error saying 'Unable to load Adobe InDesign CC 2014 Type Library (Version 1.0)'
The bit of code I was running was executing a little VB script copying files:
            var vbScript = 'Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")\r';
            vbScript +=  'fs.CopyFile "' + f.fsName.replace("\\", "\\\\") + '", "' + destinationFolder.fsName.replace("\\", "\\\\") + "\\" + f.name + '"';
            app.doScript(vbScript, ScriptLanguage.visualBasic);
From trawling the net I can see stuff about the 'Resources for Visual Basic.tlb' file. I can see this in the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\InDesign\Version 10.0\en_GB\Scripting Support\10.1 folder but clearly it isn't registered or something similar.
Can anyone help me get past this problem?
    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Do you mean copy the 'Resources for Visual Basic.tlb' into the Version 9 folder?
If so I already have the file in there: "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\InDesign\Version 9.0\en_US\Scripting Support\9.0\Resources for Visual Basic.tlb" as well as the file in this location: "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\InDesign\Version 10.0\en_US\Scripting Support\10.1\Resources for Visual Basic.tlb"
The only difference between the 2 installs that I can see is that v10 also has a locale for en_GB.

I had local IT install the software, I am unaware that any problems came up when installing. The error came up when trying to install updates from the Creative Cloud. I reinstalled InDesign and I think the problem was solved. I am running a Mac with OS X v10.9.5

  • Extensions not showing at all - Indesign CC 2014 - but shows in Photoshop and illustrator

    Hi Hallgrimur Bjornsson,
Extensions not showing at all in Indesign CC 2014 (see screenshot) - but are showing in Photoshop and illustrator
Have tried to remove ExMan.db file and restart Extension Manager (v. 7.3.2.39).
After install, the extension correctly shows in
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions
In CC folder - there's one extension (Adobe Mini Bridge)
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions
Have tried to uninstall and reinstall InDesign CC 2014.
There is only CC 2014 version of the applications installed.

Is Extensions available as a menu item under Edit > Menus...
If it is, is it marked as visible?
If it is not, uninstall, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 ) and reinstall.

  • Indesign mac: Plugin Built using Xcode 5.0.2 is not loading in Indesign CC 2014

    Hi,
I have copied my project files from version 4.5.2 (which I was using for Indesign CC) to XCode 5.0.2.
After this, I moved the *.plist of my plugin from sources folder to resources folder and then did the release build.
But when I am opening Indesign CC 2014 version with my Plugin in plugins folder, I am getting Error saying
that plugin is suitable for Indesign version 9.
Did some one faced this issue before?

Are you using InDesign CC 2014 SDK?
    Check the sdk path.

  • My Extensions Don't Show up in PSCC 2014

Almost none of my Extensions show up in PSCC 2014.  The Extension Manager shows that these Extensions are installed for PSCC2014, but they don't show up in the Application.  I have reinstalled them and they show as being installed, but they don't show up.  I have Uninstalled PSCC 2014 and Reinstalled it.  I have restarted my computer several times.  Nothing works.

I found the answer. Go to the following link for detailed instructions:

  • Cannot load InDesign CC 2014 - DynamicDocuments Plugin Required

I came into the office this morning and discovered my InDesign CC 2014 wouldn't open and I got this message:
"Cannot load Adobe InDesign CC 2014 because it requires DynamicDocuments. Please install the DynamicDocuments plug-in and restart InDesign."
I then proceeded to unistall InDesign, empty trash, then reinstall via the Creative Cloud App, only to have the error still be there.
    I'm running Apple OS 10.10
    Help,
    Thanks
    Jonathan

Tried this with no results. Still getting the same ""Cannot load Adobe InDesign CC 2014 because it requires DynamicDocuments. Please install the DynamicDocuments plug-in and restart InDesign" message. I've checked and the plugin is inside the Graphics folder.
    And YES, I've rebooted.

    Hi,
( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
So the menu bar reads iChat, File,  Edit,  View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or  Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ?  (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list  (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option  (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
    Type in:-
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

    Ok Thank you.
    I wont worry now.
Just maybe dig in deep and delete the deleted mails that are still around and that will hopefully clean it up a bit.
Many thanks for your help and advice.

  • My extensions have stopped working. They appear in the Add-on list as installed, but they don't load with Firefox.

I have many extensions downloaded. They all worked earlier today, but now none of them are working. They appear in the add-on list as installed, but they don't load. I cannot find them anywhere in any Tools or Options. I use Speed Dial, Read It Later, etc., and they're all gone.

You can delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

  • Passing unicode characters from ExtendScript to HTML5 extension

I need to pass some Japanese text from ExtendScript to the HTML5 extension. But when I receive the string from the extension it's broken in the middle.
Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi Mylenium,
The program just loads useless to use your words when I try to pass a file from Illustrator to Photoshop and when I click anywhere in Illustrator I get Program "Not responding" it doesn't crashes (stops) it stais opened but it doesn't do anything so I need to close it by force from task manager because I can't do anything with it.... Once I left it over night to save an important file and just in the morning I managed to do that so after a while it comes round but all the time there are different periouds of pending. Anyway this is not normal and I should be able to use the program in normal parameters with a powerful system.
I don't have any processor over load in the task manager I don't have anything unusual that indicates an over load of information, that's my problem. My guess is that I have a system incompatibility but I don't know where so that's why I asked for Adobe's help. Again I didn't had this problem using the same pack (CS5) with a less powerful system...
If there are any creash logs pelase tell me where can I find them ?

  • "Don't load tabs until selected" option no longer there?

I have installed a new version of Firefox (long overdue) from version 17 to 31. I was able to customize everything to my liking after some fiddling around but one setting remains that I cannot rectify. Firefox's options menu no longer seems to include the "Don't load tabs until selected" checkbox as can be seen in this screenshot
    (https://i.stack.imgur.com/JWAXX.png)
on the SuperUser forum in this thread:
This wouldn't be a problem for me if the option was off by default, but it seems to be on. I have tried to find the correct technical setting for this in the about:config menu as per suggestion of one of the threads on the Firefox Support forum.
Unfortunately, "browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground" - which I have set to "true" - does not seem to work, even after restarting Firefox, nor does "browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground".
Please help! I will be very, very grateful if all my tabs load immediately and at the same time again upon opening my browser; a practice many users over the years seem to disagree with.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Used the 64bit version before CC 2014 as well so don't think that's the issue. Here is the text in the .mxi file if I have missed something:

  • Developement Mode extensions are not loaded by Photoshop CC after 14.2 update

    I keep my HTML5 extensions in /Users/myaccount/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions.
I do have Debug Mode enabled using cli tool: https://github.com/davidderaedt/CCEXTCLI/blob/master/setdebugmode.sh
    In manifest.xml I have "<Host Name="PHXS" Version="[14.1,14.9]" /><Host Name="PHSP" Version="[14.1,14.9]" />"
I do have all required settings in Preferences->Plug-ins enabled (allow extensions/panels/internet connection)
    Before 14.2:
Everything was fine, all extensions were loaded without any problems.
    14.2:
No extensions are loaded, no errors are reported, it just seems that Photoshop CC does not load any extensions
When I install same extension using .zxp package then Extension Manager installs extension correctly and it is working so its not extension code issue I guess.
    My system information:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.2 (14.2 20131211.r.515 2013/12/11:23:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Mac OS 10.9.1
Is it possible to temporary rollback to 14.1.2?

The problem was that I had nested directory structure of extension like: ".../extensions/extension-folder/something/else/CSXS/manifest.xml" -> I changed directory structure to have ".../extensions/extension-folder/CSXS/manifest.xml" and it solved the issue. Nevertheless Photoshop 14.1.2 was accepting deeply nested directory structure of extension and 14.2 does not. I found also another issue but I will post it in another discussion.
    Thanks.
