HTML5 loads slowly using Firefox 37.01

Anyone else noted that in Firefox 37.01 HTML5 loads annoyingly slowly and the loading keeps sticking several times: in FF36 YouTube video of 4 minutes would be loaded in few seconds, in FF37.01 it takes half the videos length before loading fully.

Start '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web Link} by holding down the '''<Shift><br> ''(Mac Options)'' ''' key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

  • Web pages load slowly using Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.

Web pages are loading slowly now on my mid-2008 iMac 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Doesn't seem to matter if I use Safari v5.1.10, Firefox v29.0.1, or Chrome v34.0.1847.131.
Problem started about a week ago mostly with YouTube but now I have issues with almost all web pages loading slowly, including this one.

Try resetting both your Intenet MODEM/Router by unplugging them, waiting 15 to 20 seconds then plugging them back in.

  • Why wont Youtube videos load when using Firefox 3.6.3?

I've been having issues with youtube when using firefox, the video doesnt load or show up for that matter its just a black screen where the video should be and on the bottom left hand corner of Mozzilla it says "done" I've tried everything, I updated java and flash but nothing seems to work. What can I do? I know I can use other web browsers but I really want to fix this

There are a few reasons why youtube might be broken:
    * An extension may be causing the problem: try the steps at [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * ''Bad item stored in the Browser Cache'': Follow the steps at [[How to clear the cache]].
    * Firewall software is blocking some resources on the page: see [[Firewalls]]
If none of this works, let me know if Flash video from other sites work. Here are a few you can try:

  • Webpages load slowly in Firefox (about 5 minutes or longer for most pages) but load instantly in Internet Explorer. This has been happening for the last few upgrades, but years ago never used to be a problem. What could it be?

I don't think it's every webpage, but most of them, and all pages open instantly in Internet Explorer but Firefox takes minutes to open a page and just sits there with a white screen while it's loading.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • My Firefox seems to be crashing every time I try to open multiple windows that seem to load slowly, overwhelm Firefox and make the whole thing crash.

For example, it seems to happen a lot while on the Entertainment Weekly website, (though it happens often on others as well). If I am reading a page and try to pre-load several other articles into new tabs to read as well, it sometimes seems that opening more than a couple of tabs will cause my browser to crash completely while they are trying to load.
Here are my last five crash reports, if that helps:

  • Firefox on Windows loads the same site significantly more slowly than Firefox on Mac, across multiple computers

I'm experiencing a very strange problem where the same website consistently loads slowly on Firefox for Windows but it loads at a normal speed on Firefox for Mac. This problem occurs on multiple computers. The website is https://www.cwds.pa.gov and I'm using Firefox 26.
If I open up Network in the Developer tools and check the Timings for the page, I see that Firefox on Windows generally spends >30 seconds on the PublicHomePage.aspx file. Looking for more detail under Timings, I see that most of the time is spent receiving the file. I might be mistaken, but if the problem lies in the server sending the file slowly shouldn't the aspx file also take a similar amount of time in Firefox for Mac?
Also, I don't experience this problem when using IE9 on the same PCs that experience this problem. So far it's happened on multiple Windows computers, some of them VMs and some of them actual hardware.
I'm not the author of this web site, but I'm trying to support users who are attempting to access the site. To me it seems like something weird is going on in the Windows build of Firefox, given that the Mac build works ok and other browsers on the same computer also load the page fine. It is a government web site, though, so it could just be some unusually horrible markup causing the problem. :) Thanks!

  • Using Firefox 7 loads Facebook very very slowly whereas Firefox 6.0.2 has no problems nor does IE

When I or my family attempt to load Facebook and the apps it either takes forever or not at all to load. Other websites are slow, but not as bad. This happens only when we upgrade to Firefox 7, but when using Firefox 6.0.2 we do not have any problems what so ever.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Firefox loading slowly including other websites, freezes

When I open firefox it loads slowly. When I try to go to another site it slows/freezes. What can I do to fix this. Also in the help tab it only give me the option for troubleshooting information. No reload, restart option.

I suspect that the search value in your setup is invalid.
Could you please do the following.<br><br>
#In the location bar where you normally type in a web address, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
#If you see a window which says "This might void your warranty!", click the button which says "I'll be careful, I promise" so you can continue with the next step.<br><br>
#In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
#Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.<br><br>
    #Close the tab<br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.<br><br>
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the Firefox button, go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br><br>
If this step fixes the problem for you, please click the '''Solved it''' button next to this post after you log in into the forum. This will help others searching for a solution to the same subject.

  • Using Firefox to access facebook chat Button or online friiend chat button generates a Black screen with CANNOT LOAD IMAGES and no chat window opens.

This does not happen in other browsers and it happens on a variety of computers I have access to and would seem to be a common problem but I can find no identical cases in my searches of

"" CANNOT LOAD IMAGES ''' OK
clicking on OK returns to facebook page but no chat opens.

  • When I click on a tab in the toolbar the tab flies off the screen to the right. Suddenly after using firefox for years I cannot load any pages

I'm using Windows XP. I've used Firefox for years but in recent weeks I've had the following problem. When I endeavour to open an internet site the tab appears in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen instead of loading the page. When I click on the tab it appears to fly across the right of screen and disappears from view. Fortunately we've left an internet page OPEN so that we can redirect our search via that. Today we had a power cut and now I cannot get Firefox to load anything. At the moment I'm using Explorer to write this. We've made no changes to our system and we're continuing to use the same virus checker we're had for years. (Kaspersky)
One last point. When I try to load any site in Links the tab changes to the correct name but then flies off as I've previously mentioned. When I right click on the tab and choose Max or Min I have no reaction. I've tried rebooting the computer and turning it off but this does not fix the problem. I've also uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the latest version all to no avail. Please, can someone help? Micam

Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

  • Unable to load CSV data using APEX Data Load using Firefox/Safari on a MAC

I have APEX installed on a Windows XP machine connected to an 11g database on the same Windows XP machine.
While on the windows XP, using IE 7, I am able to successfully load a CSV spreadsheet of data using the APEX Data Load utility.
However, if I switch to my MacBook Pro running OS X leopard, then login into same APEX machine using Firefox 2 or 3 or Safari 3, then try to upload CSV data, it fails on the "Table Properties" step when it asks you for the name of the new table and then asks you to set table properties, the table properties just never appear (they do appear in IE 7 on Windows XP) and if you try to hit the NEXT button, you get error message: "1 error has occurred. At least one column must be specified to include in new table." and of course, you can't specify the any of the columns because there is nothing under SET TABLE PROPERTIES in the interface.
I also tried to load data with Firefox 2, Firefox 3 (beta), and Safari 3.1, but get same failed result on all three. If I return to the Windows XP machine and use IE 7.0, Data Load works just fine. I work in an ALL MAC environment, it was difficult to get a windows machine into my workplace, and all my end users will be using MACs. There is no current version of IE for the MAC, so I have to use Firefox or Safari.
Is there some option in Firefox or Safari that I can turn on so this Data Load feature will work on the MAC?
Thanks for your help. Any assistance appreciated.
    Tony

I managed to get this to work by saving the CSV file as Windows CSV (not DOS CSV), which allowed the CSV data to be read by Oracle running on Windows XP. I think the problem had to do with different character sets being used for CSV on MAC versus CSV on Windows. Maybe if I had created my windows XP Oracle database with Unicode as the default character set, I never would have experienced this problem.

  • Can't load a page using Network Solutions website tool builder using Firefox 5.0.1; they recommend using 3.6! How do I get a copy of 3.6?

I use Network Solution's Website Tool Builder to manage several websites. Since upgrading Firefox to 5.0.1, some of the pages no longer load and therefore I can't edit them. The sites come up okay in the browser, but not in NetSol's editor. When I called their tech support, they said it was a Firefox problem. They said I need to use Firefox 3.6...Is there a way for me to get a copy of that version of Firefox?

I need to access Network Solutions website builder too. It isn't compatible with Internet Explorer v9, Chrome v13, or Firefox v5! I believe Firefox v6 is out now. This is a Network Solution's problem. What's involved in rolling back? Can you still get add-ons, plugins, and extensions for such an older version? You can't save your personal preferences can you?
