HTML5, where do you start?
Hi. I am on a PC using XP and have Dreamweaver CS4.
I just have a simple question and am hoping for a simple answer
Can one just start writing code in HTML5 in a program like Dreamweaver CS4 or do you have to have something downloaded to write a page in that format?
I am just kind of new to this and am trying to discover HTML5. Will Dreamweaver CS4 understand HTML5?
I'm trying to read up on it but I am finding a lot of background info.

I guess you can't write HTML5 using CS4. I found this:
"The first thing you need to do if you want to write HTML 5 with Dreamweaver CS5 is make sure that you have the 11.0.3 update. Go to the “Help” menu and choose “Updates...”. This will open a new application — the Adobe Application manager. Click on Dreamweaver and if that update is listed you will need to install it and then restart your computer.
Once you have the 11.0.3 update, you will have access to a bunch of new features including support for HTML 5 and CSS 3."

Im trying to restore my imac as im selling it. Ive followed advice from the internet where when you start it hold down on 'alt' until 2 disks appear but this never happens. I went into Disk Utlity to earse but the earse button is shaded out so it wont let
What OSX was installed when you purchased your Mac? Even though it was installed you should have received the install disk(s) as the Utilities are on those.
If you do not have the install disk you can try contacting Apple and see if they can supply one,(explain you never received at purchase) you will need the build info of your machine, which can be found by clicking the Apple logo in the menu bar>About This Mac>More Info, and it should be in the first window under hardware overview. Model Identifier.

Building Dynamic web sites... where do you start these days?
OK... first off, I'm no coding expert but I have used Dreamweaver for many years to build web sites using a pretty basic ms access databases to generate a few dynamic web pages in .asp.
My question is, since the changes following Adobe Dreamwever CS5.5, what is the best way to develop dynamic sites. I want to update my existing web site (www.britishbutterflies.co.uk) and also move the dynamic content to a modern database/scriting language. I intend to build the new site using a responsive layout. I don't want to host the site via Adobe.
I'm sure I'm not the only one completely confused with the plethora of apps and software packages Adobe are currently promoting but can't seem to find any info which provides a clear guide as to what software/approach is best. Is Adobe Muse the best option - can this help with coding dynamic content like dreamwevare used too and can I host the site with my own web hosts?
Although the code produced by Dreamweaver was never perfect or the most up-to-date, those of us interested in doing a bit of dynamic web development on a non-commercial scale could get away with doing so up until Dreamweaver CS6. Now the whole thing seems like a pot of worms and dynamic web design only open to those with pots of cash and lots of time and a phd in astrophysics? :-)

SteveNot sure what you're refering to in the part about hosting with Adobe. You've never needed to do that at any point, and still don't. The "Creative Cloud" is, in my opinion, a terrible name for Adobe's current subscription service. The programs through it are still installed and reside fully on your machine. The websites you make are hosted wherever you choose.
Muse would not be the way to go. It's meant to target non-coding designer who wants to work with the internet and put a lot of bells and whistles on their site. The code it produces is very difficult to work with or make changes to.
DWCS6 still has its database interactions, those were removed (and for the most part, put back with both free and paid third party extensions) in DWCC. You can have both DWCS6 and DWCC installed on the same machine with a Creative Cloud subscription. -
Clean Install...where do you start?
I need to erase the drive and perform a clean install due to the disk utility not being able to repair a volume on the hard drive. I am using OS X.3.9 now but have purchased OS X 10.5 and want to install it. After erasing the disk, do I need to begin with the original software that came with the computer, moving through all upgrades since purchase....or will I only need to use the new OS X 10.5 install disk?

First, backup your data, please!
Unless you have software that won't run on Leopard, there is no reason that you must install Panther. Leopard will install without a previous OS. Simply erase the drive, format in Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and install Leopard.
However, if you have software that you must use, and you aren't sure of, or, there isn't compatibility with Leopard, you would do better to install Panther. You can have both OS's on a single drive, and this would be the safest way (with regard to older software).
To install both OS's, it would be best to partition the drive into two partitions, using the Disk Utility. You can then install Panther, and your applications on one partition, and Leopard, and any applications, on the other partition. Installing this way, will also avoid any conflict that Leopard may have with older Panther components (as opposed to installing over Panther).

Using iCloud and I want to sync it to my desktop, iPhone and iPad. Where would you start to make sure they all stay synced to each other? For example iCal where would you start to make sure they all match? I'm having such a hard time with this. iCal changes are not going through to the iCloud from the desktop. Just when I think its working its all messed up. I've even started from scratch switch to a new user creating the calendar and events. Then exporting all of them, going back to my user and deleting all current info and importing the new ones and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions would be greatful.
I can add and its fine. I guess I didn't explain exactly what I'm doing and what I've always done in the past and have had no problems until I upgraded to Yosemite. This is our production calendar... 8 different monthly newspapers. Example starting in Jan 2015 with SL on the 25th and tell it to repeat every month. Look at Feb 2015 and I move that deadline date to 28th (each month the deadline is date is different by a couple of days). Move on to March and move that date and so on. I then I go back to Feb 2015 on the 28th and that move didn't stick, its back on the 25th of Feb. and so on and this is happening with all 8 of my newspapers. I can have everything just perfect on the desktop and within a few minutes it changes back to old dates. I've even started over with a new user with iCal and created the dates, exported them out and reopened my iCal deleted the old stuff and imported the new and the same thing happens. I'm at a loss. I have to print out 14 of these for the next 6 months and have them exported or share with co-workers. The bad part is it more than just 8 events on each month. There are multiple events for each newspaper on different days and times. Any ideas?

I DO remember them but Apple chose to put them in Japanese and I can not change the language on Manage my Apple ID so I do not know if I made an error ,it threw me off , it was the wrong question Where did you fly to on your first Aiplane trip ? then I was unable to enter until 8 hours then called Apple Japan 4 times each time threy asked me would you like to speak with an English speaker,I said yes then they told me sorry today is Sunday no English speakers ,but they refused to speak Japanese, then I called 5th time and a kind guy could speak English we were on 1and 1/2 hours he got me to log in but the reset key chain could not be completed still pending.
He said do not mess with that ! then I got a text from somewhere to reset 4 pins suddenly it was very strange I said to him that I got this pin this morning but it said you can use maximum 3 hours it had a UK number and I told him I do not like this and will not enter the code he said do not do it if it is from the UK and then I said to him ok you did a lot to help but we can not go any further ! and we cut of I went back to my computer to re do the ID but I found everything a mess so I call and a stupid sounding Japanese women with a squeaky voice came on I was calm at first and they want your phone number your IMEI number your iPhone serial number date of birth Address email address it takes 10 munutes to check then they ask what are you caling about so I try to explain my keychain is broken or problems with language security questions and can not change my pasword because the security question have failed me so it is ONE BIG HEADACHE AND I START I GET STRESSED she says Do want an ENGLISH speaker ,I say yes ,that guy i talked to earlier but I never got his name and first time I ever talked to him but they said he is not here so I said ok and then she said today is sunday so call back in the morning ,I said ,well ok in Japanese but they make you feel stupid because they do not want to speak Jap@anese with none natives and they are to busy,And they feel that I should not bother them ,then I say that Apple Japan is trying to refuse Apple foreign customers and then she wants to hang up and ask me to visit the shop ,but they are the same I have a very bad time with Apple Japan since they do not discuss software problems or security with customer meaning if you have a problem they ask you to come on a time 20 minutes max so they do hardware test and say you phone is fine then I say no I can not reset my ID they say you must call call centre so I am going around in circles ,When I call English it is usually Australia so if my problem is in Japan surely if do not want me to talk to them in Japanese and they ask me to call Australia but every time my call charge is expensive after asking them is this free because I have Apple care they say yes but when the call goes to Australia 0120 277 535 it might change to paid call so I call then I have to ask is this charging they say we can not give you that information ! so what can I do I have have been at the computer and phone all day on my day off work and in tre week I am so busy and can not use my phone I can not work without it ,this new technology for you ,they can not cope with the fact that the customer have problems yet they do not want to deal with us because they can not solve it and so it shows them to be useless they like to walk around in their cool tee shirts and retro shop but when it comes to functionality we are unwelcome they got the money so do not return because apple is perfect that nothing should go wrong .

Where would you check performance of webi? query is taking long time to run

In the bex query world running on portal you were able to go to sm50 and check what the query is doing and where it is taking a long time or atleast you were able to see the processes runing.
Where would you check the running processes when you are running a webi query, we are trying to write a webi report which is on universe which is created on bex query. The report is very simple just two fields and an mandatory variable which is coming from bex query (have defined the variable in bex query). When we exeute the query it is taking a long time just spinning and I am not getting any data back, on the same query before even hitting the run query button, I am trying to put a object in query filters and set the filter as In list from Value(s) from list and it is taking forever to set that filter.
Can we go to CMC or BW backend and check anywhere we are using sap authentication, I see the number of sessions in CMC but that is it.

All our universes are on BEx queries designed in SAP BW in that case does the array fetch size matter and array bind size matter? I had read this in oneof the universe designer manuals for OLAP universes The Array fetch size, Array bind size, and Login timeout parameters are not used for OLAP connections

Hello. I am a new Mac user. A couple days ago, I purchased a brand-new MacBook Pro, and have become very fond of it. So fond of it, I have become quite obsessed and protective of it as if it is my own child. Lol. Anyways, the only thing I am trying to figure out is how do I make a password come up as soon as I turn on my computer? I already have it set where whenever it goes asleep it asks for the password, but how when I turn the Mac on?
Open the "System Preferences" app and click on "Accounts".
Click "Login Options" at the bottom of the list of users.
If the options in the dialog are greyed out, click the padlock and enter your password to unlock them.
At the top of the dialog you should see an "Automatic login" option: change this to "off".
You should now get the login window when you start the computer. -
I have a MAC with OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2, 8GB, 2.7 GHz, intel core i5. Until 2 days ago, I could click on iTunes radio, pick my station and listen. Then 2 days ago, I do this and system asks for my iCloud account id and password. Does not recognize apple id or password. I change the password, does not save it. Screen that lists 2 step verification asks for added security questions, I do those and still will not allow me access. What do I do and where do I start? I thought I should download the update to OS X. I did that, still no change. Please help direct me to where I need to go to fix this problem.

Problem Statement: Your need to Create a public class 'MathQuiz' that extends JApplet and implements ActionListner. Basically the program is aimed at helping elementary school students learn basic math operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and additionally the modulus operator.
Program first prompts user for an integer 1 to 5 to indicate choice of math operation in a JTextField as 1: for addition 2: for subtraction 3: for multiplication 4: for division (typically in java integer division) and 5: for modulus (remainder value in a division).
Use Math.random() to produce two positive integers, first integer in the range of 11 to 20 and second integer in the range of 1 to 10. Then frame a question of user's choice of operation with these two numbers and prompt user for his response to the question.
Accept user's response in a JTextField and upon click of "Enter" button evaluate user's response and display message in applet container's status bar. If the response is correct display "Very good!" and ask another question of the same math operation. If the response is wrong display" No. Please try again" on applet's status bar and let user try the same question until the user gets it right.
A separate method is to be defined to generate question that takes the argument of user's choice, generates the random numbers in required range and employing 'switch' selection structure formulates the appropriate question. This method should be called each time user changes his choice in the JTextField and each time the user answers questions correctly.
If the user enters a number other than 1 to 5 in the choice JTextField, program should display 'Invalid input" message is status bar and instead of framing a question prompt the user for only "valid" choice number.

As rightly mentioned by Dogboy, one need to analyse the business requirements and the solutions being proposed to them.
Most of the DP solutions can be offered using ECC flexible planning.
Any how, if the decision is made, then as mentioned by you...those are the activities need to be set up/configure in DP.
Also, you need to seek help of BI consultant, for developing Infoprovide/cube set up for uploading data to BI infocubes, this is very important and transferrring data to APO Planning areas.
And, you may choose options of using Macros for doing some simple to complex calculations depending on requirements, and to develop process chains for automating few routine activities.

Newbie to JSP/Struts: Where to get started
I would like to begin experimenting with JSP and the struts framework. I'm a java newbie but a relatively quick learner.
First, what products do I need to use struts/JSP ?
I have 9iAS standard edition release 1.0.2.1 and an oracle database std edition without the JVM installed. Do I need the JVM in the database ? Can JSP use a JVM outside the database ? Do I need enterprise edition ?
Do I need Jdevelopper 9i or can I learn to use JSP with simple tools (HTML editor) first ?
Does struts need JSP 2.0 spec or the JSP 1.1 that comes with iAS 1.0.2.1 is OK ? Is JSP 2.0 = JSP 1.2 (Like J2EE = JDK1.2 and up) There is a lot of version/naming confusion going on in java, you got any site that can help me untangle this mess ?

We actually use oracle 8.1.7 and 9iAS (PL/SQL gateway and http server). We would like to jump on the Java Bandwagon before we are left in the dust. We first need to be able to understand a lot of technology/concepts/buzzwords.
We started basic Java programming (Applications) but would prefer to get an idea of "The big picture".
By that, I mean, we need to be able to understand/design/architect sound applications and be able to talk to the community and understand what they are saying. Right now, reading the media or forums is just a big bunch of buzzwords that are ever changing and we cannot get a grasp on it.
We not only need to get aquainted with the concepts, but we also need to be able to determine wether product xyz fits in the architecture, etc...
If you were to get a couple of good books to answer some questions, where would you begin ?
Kind of questions we might have are:
- What is the difference between Jserv and Tomcat ?
- What excatly is tomcat ? A replacement for Jserv ?
- Can Jserv be used as a container for struts apps or do you need tomcat ? If you need tomcat, does it come with some version of 9ias ?
- What is a java web service ?
- I read a lot about Enterprise Java Beans etc.. What are they, what are there purpose ? It seems like it is a standard, what are they used for ? If it is a standard, does this mean that If I buy a set of EJB from a vendor, it would offer the same beans as another vendor ? Is Oracle BC4J an implementation of EJB with added functionality ? Is it proprietary ?
- Buzzwords everywhere: MVC, EJB, J2EE, BC4J etc.. What are the definitions.
- Is oracle's java vision proprietary or are they really following the rest of the world ? For example, is BC4J compatible with EJB ?
- What is a Framework
- What exactly is JSP.
- Can STRUTS be used to access an oracle database ? If so, what are the required components (I guess you need JDBC or SQLJ) but does the oracle database need to be java enabled ?
- Even if you use oracle 9ias as an application server, can you use non-proprietary development methods/architectures/techniques that could be easily implemented somewhere else using another vendor's application server (Ex: Apache + Tomcat, WebSphere, etc...)
- Struts seems to be an interesting thing. I see that it was developped to encourage code reuse and prevent everyone from reinventing the wheel. But I cannot understand what exactly a developper had to write before struts was there. I mean, there must be alternatives to strut, if so what is the purpose of the framework ?
A lot of questions, but we need to understand the basics before we jump on the java bandwagon. If we wait, we'll be left in the dust and we need to keep current.

My app downloads and executes as expected, EXCEPT THAT the jnlp process has added what looks like a status bar at the bottom of the application window, containing the phrase: 'Java Application Window'. I checked my source code carefully, and the stat
