HTMLB, WebDynpro or both together?

Hi @ all,
I had a look at some possibilities to create Portal Content .
I read something about HTMLB and the comparison to WebDynpro in the SDN Forum.
Some guys are saying that they would prefer HTMLB and some others saying that they prefer WebDynpro.
My question now is, what is the difference for the EP if I have a HTMLB IView or a WebDynpro IView. I know that Webdynpro uses a SLD to get the backend connection and so on.
The Business Logic is fully implemented in R/3 so the IViews are only for displaying content.
Because we have not much time and UI Design in HTMLB take much time, would it be an solution to source out some very complex Graphical UI Views to Webdynpro. I think this would save us a lot of time, or?
Is it possible to access in Portal from an HTMLB to a WebDynpro and reverse? Could I trust in it, that these both different kinds of development will work together?
It would be really nice if someone could give me some good hints and anwsers to this topic.

I really depends. First, it depends on experience, even if this is not a really objective comparator... And it depends on what you want to do. If for example you'd need some heavy KM integration, there are many reasons for using HTMLB.

That's a "classical" scenario for using Web Dynpro, for you have some automatism to create the backend connection as well as the mapping of the table values into your UI.

If you have some experience in WD, then yes. If you have no Web Dynpro experience but much experience in HTMLB, then you'd probably be faster in HTMLB and JSPDynPage, but that shouldn't be a reaon to stick to this technique, for once you have gained the necessary experience, at least next time you will be faster

In general: Yes. But that can get quite tricky. If you only want to "enter" the WD app from the JSPDynPage app and vice versa - no problem. If you want to leave the WD app at a certain point but return later - also this is possible in the meantime.

In general they do, but a complete application should be developed in the one or the other technology. Otherwise, you would have mixed UI (even if using the same style, WD and HTMLB pages just look different), double coding for R/3 connection, etc.

Bridge will do the job. View > Sort > ByType. Then you can choose a group of one type and put the files in a separate folder.

I have iPod Touch and husband has iPad3. Apple store synced both together and now on iTunes, iPod shows "other" usage way over. I hardly have anything on my iPod (no books, music, etc.). Do we have to unsync?

Using New GL and FI-SL both together

Hi,
actually we use FI-SL (SAP 4.6C). Our system will be upgraded on mySAP ERP and we will use New GL. Is it possible to use FI-SL and New GL both together in mySAP ERP? We must continue the use of FI-SL in mySAP ERP, but we like to use New GL additionally. Is this possible?

Hello Grit,
technically, it is not a problem. The statement is, if you have used FI-SL like a general ledger (with your specific adjustments, field movements, etc) then you should switch to newGL. FI-SL is considered (again) as a reporting tool over many applications (= SAP modules). You do not need to give up your FI-SL application(s) when migrating to newGL.

You do one or the other...real world...not much difference in speed, that you'd notice, whether you use WiFi or Bluetooth. Really a matter of convenience.

I have music on my ipod and a new library on my new pc and i would like to merge both together. How can i do this without erasing the one on my ipod?

I have an Ipod with alot of music on it that i have had for a while. The PC i used to sync it to crashed and i lost my itunes library. I now have a new PC and have already started loading new music onto it. I now realize that the music that is on my Ipod is not on the PC yet. I would like to know how to merge my ipod with the old music onto the new PC with the new music. When i pluged it in Itues said it would erase the ipod and replace it with what is now on the PC and of course i said no. So i now have two different libraries and would like to only have one made up of both. Any help?

Use of SAP DMS & SAP Archive Link both together

Dear DMS Experts,
I am little bit new to DMS and have very less idea about functionalities and capabilities of SAP DMS & Archive Link.
I have got few questions:
1. Is it possible to use both SAP DMS & SAP Archive link togther.
For example, there are certain objects like GRN, Invoice, Employee etc which are not supported in standard DMS.
However, they are supported in archive link.
But at the same time, there is requirement of setting and resetting of some statuses of the documents attached with PM notification or with PR / PO. This functionality is available with SAP DMS.
So I want to know, is it possible to use SAP archive link for few objects and SAP DMS for other objects.
2. In case of SAP archive link configuration, we need to define link between Object Type, Document type and content repository
in node "Edit Links" under "Basic Customizing" under "ArchiveLink".
Here we can not use all the content repository which we have created normally. But we can use only limited content repository ID.
How does system decides, which content repository id can be used.? Where can i define that.?
3. With SAP archive link, can i store my documents in the same content repository in which I am storing my all the documents with SAP DMS. I mean to say, both the SAP DMS & Archive link, can share the same content repository.
We are having a seperate content server and requirement is to store all the documents in content server only.
Would request you all to please help.

Yes,you may use Archivelink for static documents that would be required purely for reference while DMS can be configured to handle documents that are more dynamic in nature (that require status change,version,revisions et-al)

Yes,you may store DMS and Archivelink documents can reside on the same Content Server.Content repository is a logical area/partition,hence you may create one content repository for DMS and another for Archivelink(on the same Content Server).

If you remove the battery the CPU power will be cut by 50% (whatever they told you) so that there's no lack of power or overheating issues. It's best to always keep the battery in.

When I try to use Google Chrome with FireFox installed my computer slows down and also crashes. How can I use both together?

Signature or Attachment? Can't seem to get both together through Exchange

I've had a pretty tough time getting an email signature solution with Mail for my work exchange account. I've managed to create a signature including some small jpegs (using mail to create & copied to the preferences section, sooo fiddly, had to remove all links on images and they list as attachments which isn't ideal) which seems to work OK - that is until I send a message that includes an attachment.
Here then the recipient sees a blank email, with all typed & signature text turned into html attachments. The email appears this way in my own sent items folder also.
I've tried disabling the "show attachment" behavior of mail with: http://micahgilman.com/play/disable-mac-mailapp-inline-image-attachments/
In this case, the signature images appear (predictably I guess!) as attachments.
Is Mac set up with exchange impossible? Do I need an HTML solution with images linked?

have a mid 2012 macbook pro 15 inch. I replaced hdd drive with ssd drive and put hdd drive in optic bay. Was wondering what the best way to use both together is

Use your SSD for your system, applications, working projects, as a scratch disk (if you're editing photos or video, for example) and you can use the HD to store you user files (Documents) and infrequently accessed files.
The only disadvantage that I see with a setup like yours is backups. You can use clones to backup both drives, and Time Machine to - at least - backup your boot drive, but you're going to run the risk of losing data if you don't clone your HD. That's a minimum of two clones for one computer (I shouldn't be one to be talking about excessive clones, though, as I keep three clones of my SSD, one clone of my 2TB 'working' drive, and two Time Machine backups of my SSD).
But that's the way I'd treat the drive in the opti-bay - just as an 'internal' external drive.

I get a really odd exception, my scenario is as follows.
WDJ DC "models" contains all my RFC models (1 api public part "api_pp")
WDJ DC "delegates" contains a pure-java (no WDJ components) abstraction layer (1 api_pp, 1 ***_pp) depends on models (api_pp)
J2EE server side library "lib/delegates" depends on delegates (***_pp)
WDJ DC "client" uses delegates (api_pp). WDJ runtime reference towards lib/delegates (defLib).
When I run the app in client, I get

most likely, lib/delegates does not resolve this class.
I have tried to declare lib/delegates dependency from tc/wd/webdynpro (default) both runtime and buildtime (also separately).
Something weird happens: buildtime dependency does not resolve issue, runtime dep does not resolve issue AND makes the DC disappear from Visual Admin -> server -> services -> Classloader Viewer -> Libraries, where it is usually correctly listed.
I am studying also JA340... but without luck
Can anyone please help?

Hi Vincenzo,
I hope you have already created JCo destinations on the server for the RFCs imported in the 'models' Web Dynpro DC project.
If there is some change in backend RFC, then you will need to restart the server. You will have to re-import model in design time (in NWDS),
then do a DC Build & Deploy all the dependent DCs in the particular order and lastly DC Build, Deploy New Archive & Run your application.

Hints FIRST_ROWS and order by not working together

We are facing an issue like we are using hint FIRST_ROWS with a query which have a order by clause, if we are giving both together
it is not working and if we remove either order by or hint it is working
