Htmldb 1.6.1.00.03 version insted of 2.0

I have made a new installation of htmld db rel 2.0 (download from oracle site).
When i connect to Htmldb i view this :
version : 1.6.1.00.03 .
There is a mistake or i have donload the incorrect version ??
i donload this : Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows

Hello,
I am looking for a link to download the oracle 10g companion cd software (htmldb 1.6 version and http server). Earlier I found this link "http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/index.html" and after clicking the HTMLDB 1.6, I have downloaded the software and installed the HTMLDB and http server on my sun solaris server and later when I opened the URL for the htmldb, I saw that its actually version 1.5 and not 1.6 as mentioned in the link on oracle site. Now I need the correct link.
Can some one pls help me.

Is there upgrade for HTMLDB from 1.4 to 1.6 ?

I cannot seem to find any patches/upgrades which will upgrade the existing HTMLDB 1.4 to 1.6 version. Is there a way to do that ?

You'll need to export workspaces and applications from 1.4 to files, then install 1.6 and import/install the workspaces, then the applications.

How to Run HTMLDB Application

We developed an application for one of our client. All the developement stage is completed. Now we want to give it to the Client. We installed HTMLDB and Oracle 10g in the client server. The issue is when the user is accessing the application, the HTMLDB login screen is coming. After enter the login details only he is able to enter to the application.
But we want the client to access the application without the login details. Can anybody explain how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Sorry i could not able to find the "Edit Security Attributes" option in the "Shared Components". We are using HTMLDB 1.6.1.00.03 version. Do you think is there any changes in the versions. In my "Shared Components" i have Security option. But Security option have only "Authentication" and "Authorization". Please let me know if i am searching in the correct page or not. Or let me know if there is any other alternate way. Waiting for your response.

JavaScript BridgeTalk and MRAP errors

I have a rather complex JavaScript wihch involves copying elements from an artwork layer to a "working" layer, outlining all of the text and then determining the distance between elements.
It works excellently when setting parameters manually in the script and running it from the drop down script menu. However, when I link it up with a UI which sets parameters and use BridgeTalk to link a button to the script, I get random MRAP errors after running it a few times.
I've been battling this problem for months and each time I think I have it solved, it comes back.
The Adobe documentation suggests isolating variables in functions to avoid global variables . I've done this plus made sure every variable is decleared. It also mentions namespace issues which I'm not sure I actually understand in the scope of JavaScript.
As I said, the stand alone script runs repeatedly without any problems, so I think it must be a problem I'm having with BridgeTalk. Attached is the call and the BridgeTalk function. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try it with 1.5.1, and 1.6 (htmldb.oracle.com), exporting from those versions first before you import/install into those versions. If neither version works, please send us the file ([email protected]).

Apps after reinstallation ?

I had some serious problems with the wireless network and Vista x64, so I decided to install the x86 version insted. I did a format C and installed windows and iTunes.
Now, I have a backup of my music, so that's ok. But when I want to sync the iPhone, I get a message that all apps that are on the phone, but not in iTunes, will be delete When I check my accound via iTunes it fine shows all the programs I have bought and downloaded, either via iTunes or the iPhone. But in iTunes only the two latest are shown, even when I had chused to check store.
What can I do ? I have a lot of settings/data in the programs that I will be very sad to loose.
A other problem. iTunes now say that two computers is allowed to use the music on this accound - why is that ? can't I delete the old x64 one ? (same computer)

The problem with this is that you have 2 pc's that are probably "authorize" with the same iTunes account. If you un-authorize the x64 Vista, and that is that one that is synced with your iPhone, you will most likely loose your data. But since the apps are all tied up to your iTunes account, you should have a receipt for your paid apps. With this, you can contact apple, and they will allow a re-download with no charge. However, once you de-authorize your x64 Vista, all the iTunes and iPhone info from that pc will no longer work. Thus needing to reinstall and re-sync all your apps from the newly authorized x86.

SMTP email to update DB

Hi All,
I have requirement where an email will be sent using UTL_SMTP package to managers with two status options "Approve" and "Reject". We need to provide a place to enter comments also. Once he clicks on either of these two options in the email, the details(status and comments) needs to be updated in the table.
I do know to send mails using UTL_SMTP package but unaware on how to update the tables. Is this possible using the UTL_SMTP package or is there any other way ?

Maybe can you also use APEX (ex-HTMLDB) if you have an Oracle Version > 9.2.0.5.
In your e-mail, the 2 options can redirect via an URL LINK (href) towards an HTML page with a text area field for comments to enter. And when the page is submitted, the update is made.
Something like that for the two links :
< a href="http://yourserver:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=100:1::::::P1_STATUS:APPROVE" >Approve
< a href="http://yourserver:7777/pls/htmldb/f?p=100:1::::::P1_STATUS:REJECT" >Reject
(if your application is number 100 in APEX and page 1 and Apache Port 7777 and remove space between < and a)
It's very easy to make this process with APEX.

Hardware/software config

Although there are many other threads on this forum which sort of touch this topic but I have been unable to find the answers I want.
We have developed a application consisting of about 40 pages, has about 20 tables in the backend. From complexity point of view I would rate it as just average,nothing too fancy but at the same time not too simple as well. The average number of concurrent users are not expected to be more then 20 and we expect the daily average hits to the app to be around the 6-700 mark. The backend tables would not be very big, we expect 5-6 of these tables to touch the 1 million each record count after 4-5 years of rollout, which is nothing in the world of Oracle !!
We need to be able to put a quote for this app and the sales guys need the foll. info from me :-
1. The average per session RAM that would be consumed by this application
2. Atleast what size RAM should we recommend the client should have
3. What kind of processor , its speed...
4. minimum hard disk requirements to host the application(database+HTMLDB file server)
5. minimum database = version/edition ( We developed this on 10g release 1 enterprise edition)

I need to be able to determine operating system and browser version accessing my HTMLDB application. Depending on the version such as MAC OS X and Internet Explorer I need to put up a fault page. Can you help me determine which variables I need to access?

both navigator.userAgent and owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_USER_AGENT') will give you the same result.
You can try to put the following code into a pl/sql region on any page:

end;This will give you a result similar to :

I recently got new mac air and transferred my old version garageband projects now when I open them in 10.0.2 I can add new tracks but then nothing can record, shows its receiving sound from software inst. but no sound. I checked audio preferences and

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

How to install a "full" version of HTMLDB

Hi,
I've downloaded Oracle Express and I like the simplicity of the installation and setup. However the "version" of HTMLDB / Application Express has some differences from the full one available online. Particularly the Workspace concept.
I really need to have a full version since I'll be having more then 1 developer working on an application. This doesn't seem to be possible in the version that comes with Oracle XE.
I'd like to remove the current version and install the full HTML DB available online. Anyone know how I can do this?

So the concept of the Workspace is dead?Well, the concept of a workspace is still there, but implicit only. Once an existing database user connects to http://localhost:8080/apex for the first time (e.g. HR), an implicit workspace is created on the fly. An Apex user for this workspace is created too, by copying the credentials of the database user to this workspace. This user is automatically created as the administrator of this workspace.
The most noteworthy differences between Apex 2.1 (bundled with XE) and Apex 2.0 (standalone) are:
1) No explicit administrators or developer accounts
2) Only one schema per workspace, you cannot assign more schemas to a workspace.
How can I allow multiple developers to work on the
same application then?Well, since you cannot share components across workspace (subscription feature) I tend to organize as many applications in a single workspace as possible (related applications operating on common data).
I guess I would create a single developer schema that has access to all related objects in different schemas (if necessary). Set it up using synonyms and grants.
All developers would log in to Apex/XE using this developer account.

OIM 11g install error INST-07286 mw_home has wrong version weblogic

Hi gurus,
I have been trying to install OIM 11g from past few days
1. I have installed Oracle 10.2.0.5
2.I installed weblogic 10.3.3 by downloading from Oracle website , wls1033_dev.zip
3.I ran Rcu utlity 11.1.1.3.3
4. I installed SOA 11.1.1.2.0.
I am trying to upgrade soa to 11.1.1.3.0 using ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1.zip
It gives me error
INST-07286 Specified Oracle Middle ware home does not contain weblogic version 10.3.3 , upgrade to crrect version and then retry
It does not let me further.
Can some one please help /advise ?

I think I found the answer.
I downloaded wrong version of weblogic
I had linux 32 , and wanted weblogic 10.3.3, So I went here ( row 3 , column 2)

well I was wrong it was not 10.3.3 or something was wrong. SOA installer did not recognise it as 10.3.3.
Who is to blame. I wasted 3 days I hope Oracle keeps right versions in its website for download.

How to tell what version of htmldb is running?

A while back I installed htmldb (now application express) on AIX 5.2.
I think I used the Companion CD 10gR2 so thought that I had installed version 2 of htmldb. But when you log in it appears to show that version 1.6 is running.
Is there a way I can tell for sure which version I have?

The 10gR2 companion CD has 1.6 on it. 2.0 is a separate download.
