HTMLDB release 2.0 in OTN

Release of Oracle WebCenter Suite on OTN

Is there an specific date in which the Oracle WebCenter Suite will be released for evaluation on OTN? I know it says November 2006 in the FAQ, but just interested if it will be early or later in the month?

You are correct, it says this calendar year, so, do you have any idea between now and the end of the year? As far as releasing on OTN, this is what is said.....
Oracle WebCenter Suite is part of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3. When released, it will be available for download from OTN, and Oracle WebCenter Suite CDs will be included in the Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 media pack.
So, maybe the important question is when is Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.2.0) going to be released with WebCenter Suite on OTN?

Not able to login after installing htmldb 1.6

I've got Oracle 10g 10.1.0.3 installed and a database up on Redhat AS 3.0. I installed htmldb 1.6 per the otn instructions, but it never actually allowed me to login, every time I hit the submit button on the login page, I got nothing. Tried it from a remote windows machine with IE, as soon as I typed the first character into the password field on the login page, IE reported "Error on Page" and even I dont see any images/logos on the login page.
I stopped and started the HTTP server also. Even then I see the same probelm.
Any help on this...

Look for directory /marvel/images/*
when you find the correct path set the Alias accordingly in marvel.conf/dads.conf depending on you config.
Alias /i/ "db_2/Apache/Apache/images"
check above path is true for /images *gif directory in above location.
Did you install both Apache/htmldb together. If so more likely you will find images in /marvel

Javascript not working in htmldb

Hi,
I am using HTMLDB Release 2.
The time I put some java script in page html header section and click on apply changes, it redirects me to wwv_flow.accept page can't be displayed.
Please let me know how to correct this as I want to use javascript in my page.

JavaScript is an event driven language; simply putting code on the page does not mean that it will be executed. You will need to have something call your code for it to run.
In order to do that, you will need to use the proper syntax for a JavaScript function. Your code should read:

Oracle9i Forms was release 1 1/2 years ago. We current release is Forms 10g, which is Forms 9.0.4.

Hello,
I'm on a dial-up and I simply cannot spend weeks downloading Oracle 9i Release 2 from the OTN Downloads section, I read that the Production version of the software is available at Oracle World but since I don't live on the same continent, I can't attend Oracle World, I was wondering if I could get Oracle 9i Release 2 on a CD from somewhere, hopefully not having to pay $$$ to get it.
Any advice/ep would be greatly appreciated

Main steps:
- make a cold backup of DB
- install new version of oracle (9iR2) and apply patchset 9.0.2.4 (on windows also should apply 9.2.0.4.3)
- change environment settings
- start DB with new version (start service, but DO NOT open with DB, startup DB with migrate option) or run ODMA
- run u0900010.sql
or run ODMA from 9iR2 Home
By the way follow the migration guide instructions!

They assumed because of how Apple puts in the next *check for updates* date in iTunes. They assumed the new version would come out that day. Though each time a date gets hit after an update, they have always changed the date to another future date at least once.
Also who knows if it is going to be 1.1.3 or 1.2.1 anyhow since nobdy but Apple knows. Sites calling it 1.1.3 just shows they don't know for sure because the version depends on what is being done...fixes or new features (which nobody but Apple will know).

Download Problem for Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2

I have been trying to download Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 from http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ids/htdocs/winsoft.html
There are two zip files
1. A99230-01.zip (606,797,721 bytes)
2. A99231-01.zip (207,292,517 bytes)
I was able to download (2) completely and is able to extract files from the Zip format. But after trying 4-5 times downloading the (1) still I am unsuccessful.
After the files download reaches somewhere around 250,000,000 bytes it says the download is complete but when I try to open the Zip files, it says the Zip is invalid. Is there any problem with the Zip that is uploaded to this site. How can I solve this problem.
Is it possible for me to get the Free S/w on CDs like we used to get for forms 6i through OTN site? If so where should I register for the same?

It seems that it is only possible to start download of two files at a time. If you try to start more, the system hangs up. If you are trying to download the version that is split in ten files, you have to do this one file at a time. If you are trying to download a single file, make sure that this is the ONLY download session that is running on your computer.

brings back

JRE.exe error in Oracle Forms 6i

Anyone who encountered this error before and managed to solved the problem please assist me.
I'm using Oracle Forms 6i Release XP taken from OTN download page installed in a Pentium 4 computer with Windows XP as an OS.

not sure if anybody has tested the Forms6i base release on XP, certification came with patch 13. maybe thats the origin of your problem.

Servlet filters work with OC4J 9.0.2, but not JDeveloper 9.0.2

I spent a day or so last week building a servlet filter and testing it in OC4J 9.0.2. It works fine. I didn't bother loading it into JDeveloper because there weren't any complicated debugging issues.
I just tried loading it into JDeveloper 9.0.2 this morning, and I discovered that even though OC4J 9.0.2 has no problem with servlet filters, apparently JDeveloper 9.0.2 does. It complains about validation of the "web.xml", saying that "filter" is not a valid element of "web-app". I was specifying the 2.3 dtd.
Is this a problem that I can easily work around in JDeveloper 9.0.2?
If I load the JDeveloper 9.0.3 developer preview, can I get it to use 9.0.2 for its embedded OC4J, and not produce any new problems?

Jtable and new appserver

we developed an application in beta version of jdeveloper.The things are fine excedpt the jtable component
It only display 36 rows though query returns more than that. Remaining rows are blank.
Now i ported this application in app server release2.0 problem is my row problem is solved but server gives out of memory error. Here is the configuration of server
IBM server on linux with 40 GB hard disk 2GB RAM running oracle 8.1 and app server
Pl help what could be the problem.
Is there any way by which i can solve the row problem of jtable on older server

This issue was reported as a bug in the earlier release of JDeveloper, I believe it is fixed in the 903 preview release
which is on OTN.

Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3 Toplink Objects from Table Bug.

i try this with updates and without them.
toplink bug or toplink Wizzard Bug: I have create a conection to data base(MySQL) I use mysql-connector and everything works... i see the tables then i try to create "TOplink objects from Table " , choose connection ,for Schema i choose "none". When i choose AutoQuerry it shows the columns i add columns , I choose OK. When it ask for a name for the package i give him mypackage, when it ask for class name i also choose my package.Users(the table is Users) after which i have the following exception in MessageBox:

I have tried this out in the EA release of JDev, and have reproduced the problem you reported. However, trying out the latest development build, the problem does not occur, so this bug has been fixed. You'll pick up this fix when we next release the software on OTN.

I am not able to find this SQL Reference. I have followed your instructions and looked at the following without luck:

I'm not sure which version of the Reference you are seeking. However, if you are looking for the 8.1.7 release, then this is the path you can use on the Documentation pages.
Go to the Previous releases section on the OTN Documentation home page: http://otn.oracle.com/documentation/index.html#previous
Then click on: "Oracle8i Database Release 8.1.7".
This returns the Release 8.1.7 Documetation page. On this page you will find Documentation libraries, e.g. A87860_01. Click on the "View library" link.
Then click on the "Oracle8i Server and SQL*Plus" link. The Reference is then listed.
You can try this with any of the "view library" links on any of the Release 8i doc pages.
