HTMLDB version 1.5

hello! I've heard of the new version 1.5 of HTMLDB. I'd like to know what improvements/enhancements have been done on this new version.
Thank you very much and congratulations, it's a great product!

Daniela,
Glad you like the product. Someone else will correct this if it's too far off, but the 1.5 version of HTML DB is almost identical functionally to the previous version, but this one is distributed with Oracle Database 10g and is supported.

  • Migration from HTMLDB version 1.4 to 1.6

    I would like to find out if its possible to upgrade HTMLDB version 1.4 to 1.6.
    Can you send me more information about this please and my email address is [email protected]
    thanks Peter

    Peter,
    You should export your workspace, applications, images, css, etc., from your 1.4 installation to files. Then install 1.6 and the 1.6.1 patch. Then import/install the workspace, all applications, images, css, etc., from the files you saved into the new HTML DB instance.

  • Apex (htmldb) Version: 2.0.0.00.49, export sql queries (pages) automatic

    Hello All,
    does any body know how can I make a kind of automatic back-up of all queries/pages in a certain application?
    I know that it is possible to export a workspace/application or page manually. But we have in one aplication 80-90 reports.
    Thank you for helping me in advance. King regards

    Not sure about automatically, but you can get some really good reports on your query usage by looking at Application Reports -> Page Components -> Search Source

  • HTMLDB 1.5 to 2.0???

    How does one migrate an HTLMDB developed application version 1.5 to HTMLDB Version 2.0 environment?
    The import of the 1.5 version is being rejected by 2.0...

    what error are you getting? Did you just migrate an app or did you also migrate your environment from 1.5 to 2.0 as well; if so did the upgrade install work?

  • Htmldb report column templates

    Hello,
    htmldb version: 2.1.0.00.05
    I have read all of the threads regarding the requirement of being able to conditionally format a column's background color based on the value of the data.
    I can successfully get my entire report to have a red background when I use column templete expression 1=1. However, when I try to use something like #STATUS#='Green', I get error messages after running that report saying something like Yellow = 'Green', Yellow must be declared. I even tried using a plsql block that returns TRUE. Still no luck.
    My report region is generated based on a dynamic sql query. I tried embedding the appropriate html tags in this query, but it seems htmdb is ignoring this html ?
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Problem on htmldb 1.6.1.00.03 - not present in 1.6.0.0.87

    I really need help.
    I have an application running for a year in which many reports and SVG graphs are based on queries in the form as you can see below.
    On my linux oracle 10.1.0.3 and htmldb1.6.0.0.87 all is ok and month show ordered correctly Jan, Feb, Mar, etc
    When I installed a windows machine on Oracle10g 10.2.0.1.0 and HTMLDB 1.6.1.00.03
    All reports and graphs give me Jan, Apr, Jul, Feb, ...
    Running the query in SQLWORKSHOP shows correct data with month ordered, in run-time it does not.
    I can solve the problem in a report by forcing a "order by b.month" but in clustered and line charts done in SVG if i add an order by clause to all series at run-time I get an error "sql statement not terminated ..." the view source shows a union of all my series with order by which doesnt even run in sqlworkshop.
    The question is what has changed in this version of htmldb to cause this ordering problem.
    QUERY EXAMPLE:
    SELECT
    TO_CHAR(TO_DATE(b.month,'MM'),'Mon') YMonth,
    0 -- replaced o for real query for you to test
    ) pipeline_value
    FROM (SELECT month
    FROM
    (select level month
    from dual
    connect by level <= 12)
    ) b
    group by b.month

    Hi Scott,
    I tried to reproduce problem on htmldb.oracle.com and it worked fine I could not reproduce problem. I then did some further testing and discovered the following:
    My problem is shown not dependant of HTMLDB versions but Oracle versions:
    My new machine I installed Oracle 10GR2 10.2.0.1.0 in SQLPLUS I see the problem so it has nothing to do with HTMLDB. In htmldb.oracle.com a did a select * from v$version and the version is 10.1.0.4.0.
    My conclusion is the following query has diferent behaviour in oracle db 10.2.0.1.0 compared to all earlier versions. Earlier versions show months ordered in new version months are not shown in order.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(TO_DATE(b.month,'MM'),'Mon') YMonth
    FROM
    (SELECT month FROM (select level month from dual connect by level <=12)) b
    group by b.month
    This causes lots of errors in SVG graphs. If I remove the group by in this select the problem does not show but in the final solution I cannot remove it(this is just a simplification to show the error)
    If you have access to a DB 10.2.0.1.0 try this is sqlplus and compare it with a run in SQLWORKSHOP of the htmldb.oracle.com.

  • HTMLDB 1.6 Wizard?

    Hi,
    I am aware the current HTMLDB version on htmldb.oracle.com is a Release Candidate version. I was just wondering where I can find the wizard under application builder?
    Of course I can make my forms, etc, however the wizards are very convenient.
    Regards,
    PAtrick

    Thanks for great support of a fanstastic product.
    In 1.5 I was able to run through a wizard that is similar to the 1.6 "create application based on existing table" wizard, but provided the additional functionality of build the application based on multiple tables.
    Further, the 1.5 wizard prebuilt a "Home" page for navigation and then created a tab for each table's associated form and report. This was very powerful functionality because it allowed HTML DB users to build in seconds a full app to report on and insert data, as well as do the same with metadata stored in related tables. The first time I ran this wizard in 1.5 on three tables I had to sit still in awe for awhile.
    The 1.6 create application wizard seems to be limited to one table. This seems like a big loss of functionality. The pages can still be built manually in 1.6 if one creates the pages, regions, buttons, items, processes, branches, tabs, menus, and navbars one's self, but doing so does not provide the same sense of awe as the 1.5 wizard did, epecially when dealing with general input/report needs that do not require customizations.
    I have read the new docs, both pdfs and online help. I can't find the missing wizard functionality in 1.6. Am I really just lost in the navigation changes?
    Thank you,
    Michael Roessler

    Hi,
    I've a problem whith trying to import a spreadsheet into my HTMLDB Workspace.
    The installation worked ok, and I've runned the recompile script and the patches also.
    When I try to import/load a txt file(seperaded by empty space or \t) I get an "Page can not be found" error. When I open the D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\http_1\Apache\Apache\logs\error_log I see the following error code.
    File does not exist: d:/oracle/product/10.2.0/http_1/apache/apache/htdocs/index.html
    File does not exist: d:/oracle/product/10.2.0/http_1/apache/apache/htdocs/pls/database_access_descriptor
    But I've no idea what the problem can be, anyone has an idea?
    I've the
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 database installed and the 10.1.2.0.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server 2.2.1. HTMLDB version

    Are those error messages the newest messages in the log? From what you've said so far it sounds like your ApEx installation works except for this import operation. Is that true?

  • Export file is not a valid HTMLDB export file

    Hi All,
    I have a serious problem today when i want to import the exported application file to another workspace in other machine.Both workspace have same name & same schema in which application resides.I got the messages "export file is not a valid HTMLDB export file" .I have search thru the forum and have got several possibly solution.But i want to know what should be done to successfully build the application.Even after exporting file from different workspace and diff name from diff machine still i got the same error message.
    Any Ideas ?
    Thanks in advance ,
    Cheers,
    Eman

    I export an application resides in workspace HTMLDB_W in APP_OWN schema in database A version 9.2.0.1 and import that application to HTMLDB_W1 in APP_OWN schema
    in database B version 9.2.0.5.Both database have HTMLDB version 1.6.1.02.when importing file the files are successfully imported but after click on Install the "Application Install"
    region appears.Here the information shows below.....
    Logged Into Workspace: HTMLDB_W1
    Export File WorkspaceID:
    Export File Application:
    Export File Version:
    Export File Parse As Schema:
    Application Origin: This application was exported from another workspace.
    Parse As Schema :APP_OWN
    i select Run & build application then reuse my application ID .
    There is no other application in the same schema & workspace of same application ID.Also when export the file the Character set is Unicode -UTF & while importing i choose the same character set in DOS format.I change the options later but nothing helps me......
    I think since the export file version & workspace id cant detectable so the application fails with following error message ::
    1 error has occurred
    File is not a valid HTML DB application export file.
    Previously i use the same workspace later i changed the workspace so now the export & import workspace is different & import workspace ID: 658006861199719
    export file workspace ID : 689311213291671
    If need more information please revert back to me.

  • Application not working after migration

    An application developed in HTMLDB Version-2.0 is migrated to a new server with version-2.2. Few links like edit (to edit rows) are not working. What could be the reason

  • Import Export Error (ORA-06502)

    All,
    We are trying to migrate the code from windows 2000 HTMLDB 1.5.0.00.33 to solaris 9 HTMLDB 1.5.0.00.33 by using the export/import function. After migration, one report went wrong with the following message.
    report error:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    The tables definition are identical and there's no data in the production table. When we try to reduce the query length from 3000 to 2500 characters, the error message disappears on production.
    Is there any HTMLDB global variable controls the maximum length of the report "region source"?
    Any response would be appreciate.

    Scott,
    Thanks for the response. We've applied HTMLDB version 1.5.1.00.12 on both develop and production servers yesterday but the ORA-06502 error still persist. We've also tried to use package and "pl/sql return sql" instead of a long sql query but received the same result.
    The solaris instance is using "Western European ISO-8859-1" as the file character set and the windows is using "Western European Windows 1252". Is there any easy way to change the DAD character set on the production box?

  • Error handling on Tabular form

    Hi -
    I need to perform some validation on insert and update. Just simple ones: not null.
    (HTMLDB Version 2).
    Please, do not think that I have not done my research on this issue. I went
    through all forums and documentation; I followed with all how-to’s. I created a
    validation on the page level, but it does not work. For some reason MRU it just
    skips this validation and performs update with nulls even I have a validation NOT NULL created.
    I ended up with validation through db trigger. But here is another problem:
    it shows the whole error stack as I would like to see only my own error message.
    Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20100: PROJECT TASK must have some value. ORA-06512: at "JENNY.VALIDATE_UPDATE", line 10 ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'JENNY.VALIDATE_UPDATE', update "JENNY"."STATUS_PROJECT_TRACKING" set "RECNO" = :b1, "EMPNO" = :b2, "PROJECT_ID" = :b3, "YEAR" = :b4, "WEEK_NUMBER" = :b5, "PROJECT_NAME" = :b6, "PROJECT_TASK" = :b7, "ORIGINAL_DUE_DATE" = :b8, "CURRENT_DUE_DATE" = :b9, "PROGRESS_ISSUES_RISKS" = :b10, "ACTIVITY_RISK_MITIGATION" = :b11, "WEEKLY_MONTHLY" =
    I would like to see only my message in bold.
    I was doing this last 3 days and I think I exhausted my resources. Please,
    help me to set up proper validations.
    Thanks,

    Vikas -
    It works! But ... Sorry, for this.
    I have actually 3 fields which must not be null. Can I incorporate same logic?
    I did:
    function:
    <script>
    function foo()
    var th_comm=html_GetElement('PROJECT_TASK');
    var t=html_CascadeUpTill(th_comm,'TABLE');
    var l_index=th_comm.cellIndex;
    var th_progr=html_GetElement('PROGRESS_ISSUES_RISKS');
    var t1=html_CascadeUpTill(th_progr,'TABLE');
    var l1_index=th_progr.cellIndex;
    for (var j=1;j<t.rows.length;j++) {
    var l_row=t.rows[j];
    var l_comm=l_row.cells[l_index].getElementsByTagName('input')[0].value;
    if (l_comm=="") {
    alert('PROJECT TASK must be entered');
    return false;
    exit; --- IS IT VALID in JAVA?
    for (var j=1;j<t1.rows.length;j++) {
    var l_row=t1.rows[j];
    var l_comm=l_row.cells[l1_index].getElementsByTagName('input')[0].value;
    if (l_comm=="") {
    alert('PROGRESS ISSUES RISKS must be entered');
    return false;
    exit; --- IS IT VALID in JAVA?
    return true;
    </script>
    2. In SUBMIT:
    javascript:if (foo()) doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    For the 1 validation (your script)- it works perfectly.
    function with 2 loops - does not executes at all. Something is wrong with the syntax.
    Thank you very much,
    Jenny.

  • Value param too long - error

    When I enter a PLSQL anonymous block in the page process region and try to apply the changes, I get the following error message -
    " Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
    mod_plsql: /pls/caps/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Value param too long. Length is 44169. Upper limit is 32000"
    Is it because the the size of the plsql block entered too big? If so what is the work around? I can not create a stored procedure for this because the block uses html form element collections (HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01, etc).
    My HTMLDB version is 1.5.1.00.12
    Please help me solve this problem.

    I have a peculiar problem here. I have created the stored procedure and calling the stored proc from the anonymous block. Still I get the same error I mentioned above.
    I get this error even when the process region contains a dummy block like -
    declare
    begin
    null;
    end;
    Even more funnier - I am not able to delete or do any other changes in that after submit process. I have created a new process and added the block to that process. Now when I try delete the process that is giving me the problem, I get the same error message and nto able to do any operation on the process.

  • How to keep display as Show when using Hide Show region with pagination?

    We are trying to use a 'Hide Show' region with pagination. The problem is that if you 'Show' (ie expand) the region and then hit the link for the next page, the next page displays Hidden (ie collapsed). We want to keep the page display as 'show' when you move to the next set of records.
    There is a fix in this forum for this issue in version 2.2 (Application Express) but we are on 2.0.0.00.49 (HTML DB). Does anyone know of a similar fix for HTML DB 2?
    Ver 2.2 fix is at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#STICKY
    Thanks.
    David.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Running the application install script via SQL Plus using FLOWS_020000 produces result:
    NOT COMPATIBLE (Your export may contain calls not supported by your HTMLDB version.)
    The wwv_flow_api package routines that are not available in our version appear to be:
    create_or_remove_file
    create_install
    create_install_script
    Is there any way to handle these calls in other ways?
    Thanks
