HTTP Mail Support

If any of you use MSN Hotmail, I’m sure you know that they got rid of the POP service some time ago and transferred over to a HTTP mail service. While this is good for the fact that you can sync between multiple devices (phone and laptop, etc), it makes it hard finding programs that work with it. Are there any plugins for the standard Mail client, or other programs all together, that have support for HTTP mail? Thanks.

Select the Mail application in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu and check the box to open the application in Rosetta; you can then use this plugin to access Hotmail.

HP e-mail support, Ticket no: 8028153835
I purchased my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer in 2005. It was previously installed on a HP Laptop, Windows XP, and all the features worked.
It is now on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32. When I tried installing the printer software CD, it wouldn't load because of the Vista OS. I then loaded the HP Photosmart 2600 series full feature printer driver (Vista OS compatible) from the following HP website link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-47754-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
Now I cannot get the Printing Preferences to allow Manually Duplexing (two-sided) printing. This option was available on the original printer software.
I've tried the solutions on: HP Image Zone Help / Two-Sided Prints which indicate:  Click the Finishing tab / In the Document options area / select the Print on both sides check box (this box is not available).
When I run the printer from the Control Panel as Administrator, the printer Properties / Device Settings show Manual Duplexing: Enabled.  When I go to the printer Properties / Advanced / Printing Defaults, neither the Finishing / Print On Both Sides check box is available nor will the Printing Shortcuts tabs allow the Print On Both Sides option to appear (only shows Print On Both Sides: Off).
HP e-mail support told me to install this patch to correct the problem:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-69848-1&cc=us&lc=en&...
When I try installing the patch, it won't load because it wants the original CD software. So I'm back to my initial problem of trying to load the original printer software that won't load because the CD is for Windows XP OS. I am at an impasse between the Software CD that I have, and what is available on the HP website.
    What is your solution?

Also, if it were, do you download the driver?
The driver is supplied through Windows Update.  Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, then select Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to update the list, then the Deskjet 6500 series will be a choice under HP (not Hewlett-Packard).

  • HTTP pipelining support in WL Server

    Greetings,
I've just noticed that the "HTTP pipelining" support in Mozilla-based browsers
appears to break WL 5.1.0 web apps when enabled. The symptoms are pages that
take forever to load, with images misplaced throughout the content (i.e., icons
will ne exchanged in what appears to be a random manner).
I posted a bug with the Mozilla team, and it looks like connections are being
recreated and torn-down repeatedly, as if each request is being cancelled.
Since the HTTP/1.1 spec requires that servers support HTTP pipelined requests
from clients, Mozilla/Netscape has no choice but to add the WL server string to
    the "pipeline blacklist".
The workaround is easy: disable HTTP pipelining. I'm just wondering if WL 6.x
or up meets the HTTP/1.1 spec in a more standard manner (at least in this regard).
Is this a problem for other apps out there? On other versions of WL?
Full pipelining support would be nice, as it significantly speeds up requests,
with a lot more information squeezed into every HTTP request. We are finding
that our web-based apps are becoming ever more popular; which means an ever-growing
number of customers requesting we make them more responsive.
HTTP pipelining is not a magic bullet, or an excuse to make poor web-based apps,
but it really helps at the connection layer to make each request more efficient.

I would open a support case to get clarification on whether DIGEST is supported. According to the WLS 8.1 book I found on google, it looks like it may have been supported in 8.1:
    http://books.google.com/books?id=TiAKHpPHpHIC&pg=PA836&lpg=PA836&dq=WebLogic+Digest+Authentication&source=web&ots=ciJMQOXm2q&sig=oJGOs-J5snfFGt_hWSPi-FXyERQ&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=10&ct=result
If that is the case, it is unlikely that they removed it, it just may not be documented well as it is very uncommon.

  • Http mail on the Mac

Does anyone know if a Universal Binary version of the 'http mail plugin' that let's you view Hotmail through Mac Mail is avaliable yet...?? If not, does anyone know when it will be avaliable...??
I'm currently running it ok through Rosetta... if a little slow. Hangs at times.

It looks like they are working on one. However in doing some research it also looks like Microsoft will be killing what makes this able to work, and also in the future completely disabling even all the granfathered in POP hotmail users.
I would suggest you get your hands on a gmail invitation. That way you don't have to run a plug in at all, and you still have a web based option if you need it. If you need an invitation code, you can now do it via mobile phone.
I know it's a pain to change email accounts, but you can always forward all the ones sent to the hotmail, or keep using it and change your reply to address for a few months to get everyone used to it.

  • How does http mail server work?

can you suggest a site which has information regarding working of http mail server? When i check my mail through a browser at, say yahoo.com, is only http used or is IMAP or POP protocol also in picture, and if yes then at what stage of mail retrieval does the protocol change?

You do not mention what version of iMS you are talking about so I'll assume iMS 5.2 for my answer. Second I've no idea what yahoo.com uses, nor do I care.
When you do http://<yourmailstore>/ you are talking to a basic HTTP server. That server then gets your mail from the mail store and shows it to you. The methods by which the HTTP server gets the messages from the store is internal information and not available.
In large scale environments where more than a single mail store is used, then webmail proxies are deployed. The users speak HTTP to the proxies which in turn speak HTTP to the mail stores. The mail stores then use what I described above to get the users mailbox data and send it back to the proxy via HTTP which then sends it back to the client via HTTP.
iMS webmail does not use POP or IMAP in any way, those are completely different protocols that are based on the Internet standards. There are no Internet standards for Webmail, at least that I am aware of.

  • E-mail support with work e-mail

Hello all Blackberry users!!  I got my blackberry Curve 8330 in April and recently my work has decided that it was against policy to have your e-mail go through a third party. Fair Enough.  Then they said people with Blackberry's will have to have their email deactivated because you have to sign up for BIS, which is an unsecure e-mail server that could potentially pose harm via our secure e-mails.
Well... when I did set up my phone in april, I didn't have a BES server and I didn't sign up for BIS.  I simply put in my e-mail and password and it found the webserver e-mail (https://....).  I was using it fine, even though messages would come in up to 10 min later.
So here's the big question for me and the other 80 people who are confused, even though we went through and just put our e-mail address and got the proxy server via https and didn't sign into a BIS account with Blackberry, is it technically going through the BIS servers?
I don't want to buy a new phone, I can't afford it and work doesn't care.  I don't want to do the wireless sync thing via laptop and have it push via a cable.  Any thoughts?

if you put in a server address with "https://" then you integrated OWA, which is through BIS
    example: https://companyname.org/exchange
if you touched the Email Settings icon on your phone, then you integrated through BIS
Here is some information about email security through BIS
    1. Email messages and instant messages
Email messages and instant messages that are sent between the BlackBerry® Internet Service and your BlackBerry device use the security
features of the wireless network. Messages that are sent between your messaging server and the BlackBerry Internet Service are automatically
encrypted if the server supports SSL encryption.
    2. Encryption of login information
When you log in to the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site using a browser on your computer, the BlackBerry Internet Service uses SSL
encryption to help protect your login information and any changes you make to your login information. This encryption is designed to protect
your user names, passwords, and other BlackBerry Internet Service account information from unauthorized access.
Email as a whole is one of the most unsecured portocols out there, The only way that your company could have secured emails is to only allow it on the intranet(internal tho the building) and not the internet(over the wide web). As soon they they expose their email to the internet it is unsecured, there is no encryption when sending over the web. It isnt possible for a BB to make it any less secure.  Might want to get some more info from your company IT department. BBs are one of the most secure devices out there.
There are 3 ways to get emails to a BB. BES, BIS, and Redirector(requires exchange, outlook and DTM to open at all times, does not support attachments)

  • HP Huddled Personal Media Drive e-mail support - Service Ticket #8040309516

I am completely dissatisfied with HP Customer Support regarding this problem (8040309516).  It was formally opened on 07/02/2010 - over a month ago - and HP Customer Support has: 1) misdirected me on resolution (sent me the user guide instead of the driver for $10); 2) Been unresponsive to the issues via reps; and 3) most of all, not responded to my weekly emails requesting update and support,  but only relay the same message that "the problem has been escalated to a support expert and that they appreciate my patients".  I've even asked to escalate the problem to management with no other response than the one I relayed here.
How long does it take HP to resolve reinstalling a driver (HP PMD drive) and the backup application (HP SureStore)? They are your products.  I can't use the storage device to back up my system, so I'm exposed.  Do you support your products in a timely manner or not?

  • HTTP Probe support for ISE guest service

    Hi all,
I am currently trying out the guest feature of the ISE and I noticed that clients won't get probed via HTTP when accessing the guest portal and I am curious why? The WLC is currently running version 7.0.116.0 and thus is only able to support Local Web Authentication.
I configured the Layer 3 authentication of the SSID to use External Web Authentication with the link https://ISE:8443/guestportal/Login.action where ISE is the domain name of the appliance. I also ensured to use the MAC address as the Calling-Station-ID.
I successfully get to the portal, but when I check on the endpoint afterwards, no user agent is recorded.
Is there any way to instruct the ISE to fetch this information via local web auth?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,

we have a demo shipped with BPEL PM (samples/demos/SalesForce...) that shows how to use the API .. I believe this transport props should be fully transparent and should NOT affect the BPEL engine at all..

  • IDOC - XI - HTTP/MAIL (How to get the http response and send an email?)

    Hi David!
If you are able to send any Http message in reference to message from XI (eg. with Idoc number or msg-id) there is no problem to process it in your scenario (even if comunication is asynchronous).
    Regards,
    Radek

You need a 2:1 mapping. source interfaces are Idoc and Http response, target interface is the mail.
As you can do his only for abstract interfaces, you have to create an abstract message interface based on the IDoc structure.
For the http call you need abstract async message interfaces representing request and response which you can use for the mapping and for the container variables inside the BPM.

  • Https transport support for JAX-WS WebServices

    Hi All ,
I am trying to implement JAX-WS WebServices that support https transport .To do so I added the following annotation *@Policy(uri = "policy:Wssp1.2-2007-Https-BasicAuth.xml)* in my Jws Implementation file for the JAX-WS WebServices but I got parsing error. Can anyone please confirm that JAX-WS supports the policy annotation in Impl file.If it is supported can a link/pointer/example could be given to implement https enabled JAX-WS WebService and the required configuration in wsdl file.
    Thanks and Regards

It does but you've specified a policy that uses both HTTPS and basic HTTP authentication. If you require just HTTPS use "Wssp1.2-Https.xml". In turn you must enable the SSL port on the WLS server. See this blog post: http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2009/02/enabling-ssl-and-disabling-non-ssl_17.html
If you use JDev to generate the JAX-WS web services, given the policy annotation JDev willl put the policy in the WSDL file appropriately.
