Http method not recognized and ntlm authentication

Does anybody know why ips signatures fire on ntlm authentication proxy? In our environment we have ISA 2004 and the ips is complaining about http not in rfc specs and http not recognized. Is it possible that ips does not understand ntlm proxy authentication?

These signatures are policy enforcement signatures. They are firing because the AIC engine has determined that the NTLM proxy application is running a non-web http based protocol on a web port. That will trigger 12674. 12676 is triggered when there is an HTTP request method being seen that is not in the list of acceptable HTTP request methods (listed in 12676 config). Currently, the method list should be considered static, even though it appears that you can add to this list, there are known issues that make updating it unreliable.
I'd look at the alarms to see if either the attacker or victim address is constant. I'm not sure how it will fire, but if one side is consistently the ISA system, then you can probably implement an alarm channel filter to keep those two signatures from firing with the ISA as the attacker/victim. Personally, I'd consider disabling the signatures since they are not compatible with your network policy.
WRT to tuning 12676, the entire AIC engine is being actively worked on to improve its robustness and functionality, though no specific release vehicle has been determined--yet.

  • Itouch - USB device not recognized and Itouch now no longer works

I'm now on my 3rd Itouch since December all due to the same problem. All seemed to be going well with my 3rd replacement Itouch. Having loaded most of my cd collection into ITunes the night before I was going on holiday I synced my Itouch. Some sort of automatic download took place I think from Microsoft and suggested my drivers were being updated. Next thing I got message to restore my Itouch to factory settings. I did this and all the problems I had with my previou Itouch's started again.
When I now plug my Itouch into my laptop it says "USB device not recognized" and the Itouch will not switch on. I've done everything including reinstalling Itunes, holding down the power and home key but to no avail. Looks like I'm going to have to send my Itouch back again. I have a suspicion that a Microsoft download is corrupting the drivers. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. I really like my Itouch but the fact it keeps failing leads me to wonder if I should opt for something else.

I had success with the holding down the keys and connecting to usb and using itunes to restore firmware like they show here

iPhone 3G plugged into PC(Windows 7) 'USB is Not Recognized' and unable to restore; stuck on 'Connect to iTunes'
I was in the process of putting another firmware for my iPhone(an .ipsw via. itunes) and the house had a power cut. The computer was in the middle of restoring the iPhone but never finished. The apple logo came on and then came onto the 'connect to itunes' screen. My sim card was in but there is no option to slide for emergency. When I Plug it into my computer, a message pops up saying that the 'USB Device Not Recognized', I've tried to plugging my iPhone into my laptop and other Computers but the same message occurs (all windows 7). Other articles say that the error is with the iPhone, I need help!! Can anybody offer some advice on what to do?

Recently, iTunes upgraded.  My 7th generation iPod is now not recognized and I cannot sync.  The troubleshooting talks  about being visible in Windows (iPod is invisible)  No other options and nothing about windows 8

I have had similar issues with mine, happens mainly if I transfer songs and then decide to disconnect my iPod to listen to them with my IEMs (I use Interenet Explorer in my case and it is not neccessarely up when this happens, so I seriously doubt it is an issue conencted to the web browser). I have no patience for this so my trick is I try to eject it from iTunes, if that does not work, then I bring Windows explorer up, right mouse click on the iPod mounted drive and select Eject. It gives me the same warning but there is a third button selection called Continue. When I choose that it just disconnets the drive anyway and the iPod is finally disconnected. It seems to work each and every time I do it so this solution is fine for me. Would be intersting to see what the real root cause of this is because I started getting this problem with the newer iTunes 11.

iphone 4 not recognized and will not sync after latest itunes update.  I have done recommendedl trouble shooting and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes to no avail. Can I go back to earlier version of itunes or restore computer to fix?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Shuffle not recognized and can't restore

I recently "Up"grade to itunes 7.0. Now my shuffle is not recognized and it's telling me to restore. When I try to restore it's telling me the software is not found. When I go to the apple site to download the software it tells me the ipod resource was not found. Any thoughts...
    Help, please.

I have always had this problem it has never ever synched. I feel i have wasted my money. I have to bother some one else if I want to change the songs. Kinda pointless. There is something to be said about the old days of popping a tape in recording music and poping it straight in ur walkman w out all the bs and sometimes I still do. I dont need all the bells & whistles of Music videos & all the other "benefits" they offer. If they really are "cool" this would be a non issue. Half the time my computer won't open programs. If I had wanted something that requires so much babysitting I would have bought a pc for a quarter of the price and w out the slick marketing campaign and i dont care if it is an ipod or any mp3 player, I just want it to function w out the BS. I dont care what it is called as long as it works w out the bs. I need functionality. When music was about music and nothing else. Thanks. I recieved a notice from Tekserve, the only Apple retailer in NYC until last year, saying "Sorry for the short notice, but you have 2 weeks to register for Applecare and it will cost you $150" At the time I did not have the money or time. So far I feel Mac is for middle class & rich people w alot of time & money to spare. I slaved in restaurants to buy this pc etc not to mention lost my job because my work was forced to close because of 9/11, used my savings and had to start again, and it has added up to a glorified internet connection.

There are several options for configuring how Captivate records. It might be helpful for us to assist in troubleshooting if you were to record the process of what you to before recording. You could use Jing for that.

  • My ipod touch is not recognized and a "false" recovery mode icon is diplayed on ipod

hello, sorry for the long title its just that i find this problem very specifically tied to me and probably ten other people on this planet... Since i couldnt find an answer on google or youtube....
now im here, newly created an apple account, and i wish to ask other people..... why?
i have received an ipod from a buddy of mine who finds me more computer-knowledgeable than he is.... which is a strech to say, anyways: problem is, ive done EVERYTHING, and not just everything, but EVERYTHING, unistall and re-install of itunes, including the recovery and DFU modes, driver updates, other computers, new cables, and even trouble shooting with every possible/relevant trouble shooter there is.... and it all leads to the same promblem:
Windows 7 says: "device not recognized"
oh, and about the "false" recovery mode, i found this out by carefully watching the ipod start up and i noticed that the top status bar turns on, then quickly off.... and the battery symbol remaines.... i also figured out the real recovery mode and already tried the whole "itunes restoration" routine.... but it doesnt matter because:
Windows 7 says: "device not recognized"
so, afterwards i figured "hey, maybe its got something to do with the drivers?" well, there was my solution, so i went to device manager, and attempted to update said driver manually using the Apple Moble Manager Service drivers... *GASP* DID IT WORK?
Windows 7 says: "Driver Manager says:'error: code 10: device will not start.'"
ah yes... what is code 10? its a code that aplies only to a device that has given an error code that windows does not recognise.... i assume the ipod thinks its already up-to-date.... or maybe its just crying in its digital coma, "just five more minutes, mommy!"
so final question, probably the only question i want answered, if any:
How, If possible, Do I get passed this "code 10" error so i can update my driver, and finaly cure my ipod of this..... coma?
