HTTP Processing Error in itunes 7.0.2

I can't seem to get itunes to read cd information thru CDDB. The computer is connected to the internet via a free wireless network which could have something to do with it. Itunes store works, internet works, but no track names? The information is on The CDDB website but it won't link my computer to the server. Any help is appreciated.

Do you know any other tricks or ways to connect within the system? I think everything dealing with the wifi signal checks out. All of the proxy and HTTP info looks to be good. Could it be an internal system error preventing the CDDB preferences from connecting? Is there a way to scan itunes for errors?

  • Problems Accessing Gracenote CDDB: "HTTP Processing Error" Help Please

I'm hoping for a bit of help here people, having a few problems I would be grateful for your assistance with!
I've been having trouble accessing Gracenote for a couple of months now. What was happening was that when I tried to search for the CD info on Mediasource, the gracenote icon would appear in the top left corner, and the screen loading as if obtaining the info, but then nothing happens and the info is left blank.
I have tried everything I know, and everything that has been suggested here! I have altered the ZoneAlarm settings, deleted the cddb file, checked that the settings in Mediasource are correct, downloaded the latest drivers, re-registered for gracenote manually and various other things. None of these have solved the problem.
Finally, I decided to completely re-install Creative Mediasource. After doing this, I tried to access gracenote again, and was asked to re-register. I did this, but then recieved an error message stating "Internal Socket Error". THis happened a couple of times, before the message was replaced with "HTTP Processing Error", whenever I try to access gracenote. It still will not recognise the music!
Basically, I am at the end of my knowledge and the end of my patience!!! I really don't know what more to do and so I'm throwing this open to you guys - any help would be so, so appreciated! The only this I can think is that my dad got an ipod two months ago, and has installed itunes on the PC. From what I understand, that uses gracenote too - are the two programmes clashing? If so, can anyone suggest a way I can alter this?
You're my last hope before I'm condemmed to a lifetime of filling in CD's by hand!!! I'll be really grateful if any of you guys can help me out!
    Thanks!
    David

  • CDDB error and HTTP processing error

when I try to add a new CD to my library I get CDDB error and HTTP processing errors..... and download will only show the number of tracks and the time each track will play...this only happens on my PC.... and everything works ok on my laptop... I have tried the latest update...and I have compared settings between the two computers but haven't found the problem...

Since a recent update of itunes I cannot get CD track
names from Gracenote anymore. This problem only
occurs on my windows profile and not on other
profiles on the same computer. When I load an audio
CD, itunes recognises it but doesn't name tracks.
When I click on "Get CD track names" in the advanced
menu it starts as normal and then I get a window with
the message 'CDDB Error. HTTP processing Error.' I
have tried a second itunes download, which according
to the install wizard repaired all faults.... still
happening though. I don't have enough time in my life
to type in all the track names! Any help gratefully
    received.

    Refer to www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n302538
    Insert an additional step:
    6a. Click on Disable All.
It takes a while to test one or a few items at a time, but it works! If you find these in your Startup list try selecting all and then unselecting these first. One of these was the problem for me but I haven't narrowed it down to one of them yet.

  • HTTP processing error when I try to get track information

This has stumped six people at apple support and my ISP- I got cut off from/was cut off by the last guy I spoke to after half an hour of trying and I hadn't the heart to start all over again with another one.
I get the above error message when I try to download track info from iTunes. This has happened since we set up a wireless network at home. We have solved the problem for the other pc running windows by typing an address I got from my ISP into LAN settings and track info is suddenly available.
However in the Mac system preferences/network/advanced/proxies nothing I click or type works. A whole week of my life has passed me by as I try to resolve this problem. Please help.

    you mean 4848 yes
    http:\\localhost:4848\asadmin\admingui\TopFrameset
it says in the log that it has application server on 4848 (started)

  • CDDB Error.  HTTP Processing Error.

After working flawlessly, iTunes now not getting the CD information when trying to download new CDs. I get the subject named error when highlighting a track and under the advanced menu, ask it to get the track name. Help!
    compaq   Windows XP

This is a bug and Apple should address it.
I am experiencing the same issue and have for some time. The boys at the local Genius Bar where about as useful as a two legged tripod.
I am not using any acceleration software. My ISP is setup to automatically assign the IP so I do not believe that it's a proxy issue.
I have also opened up my firewall to allow iTunes unfettered access.
Other applications that access the Gracenote db work fine.
I would appreciate some useful information.

  • Help - Getting "CDDB Error. HTTP Processing Error" Message

I am running Windows XP with Norton Internet Security 2006. I am trying to import regular, purchased CDs, but Itunes will not access the track names.
A posting on another site recommended clicking off on the Enable Browser Security in the Privacy controls, but that did not work.
Any other suggestions as to why it will not connect to CDDB?

I am running Windows XP with Norton Internet Security 2006. I am trying to import regular, purchased CDs, but Itunes will not access the track names.
if you've got NIS, we'd first better check on this possibility (it hits CDDB connections too):
iTunes cannot connect to the Music Store or Shared Music after installing Norton Internet Security

try removing your "localhost" from the windows hosts file and then do it all over again using your ip or hostname.

  • HT4913 Trying to add new macbook air to itunes match. process starts but never succeeds. works for a while then give error  about itunes server.

Trying to add my new Macbook Air to iTunes match. Process starts but goes nowhere. After some time I get error about iTunes server losing connection. Help! I want to access all my music.

Hi Rob- I'm guessing it has something to do with all the update stuff Apple keeps doing (with Yosemite, etc.,) extremely frustrating - also whenever I load up iTunes on any of my devices- I am asked to enter my passcode- which I will do- then I am asked to do it 2 or 3 more times - right after the other- crazy how annoying something like that can be- I have looked online for solutions- i.e. close out of the account, reset the passcode- all of it- nothing seems to fix that situation either-  what I have discovered (playing around) is on my iPhone 6+ if I go to settings and turn OFF iTunes match- then turn it back ON- suddenly all the music that wasn't loaded shows up magically- but I had to do that each time I'd update songs in my playlist on the iMac- then go to the iPhone and turn off the match- then turn it back on- almost like it is resetting things-

  • Once in a while, I get some errors with every tap on the screen, I've been getting this following error since a few days ago, it says" Your request cannot be processed, Error code 1009" . What is it and what should I do?

  • Get Error Message "itunes cannot run because some of its required files ...

complete message that i see in a pop-up window -- "itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes".
I check windows update. Microsoft says I'm up to date. When I reinstall ipod off the CD and/or itunes/quicktime from iTunesSetup.exe file version 7.0.2.16 it installs ok. If I choose unintall then reinstall or if I repair the itunes software the install program says everything is fine.
However when I connect to Ipod. The ipod window comes up in itunes and then shuts down real fast. Itunes continues to work but i can't see the ipod.
The showstopper happens when i shut down itunes after the attempt to connect the ipod. When I restart itunes i get the message -- "itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes".
    Reinstall **** resumes.
    What files are missing?
It would be nice if the interface offered more details. Or I could go online to a self diagnostic and repair web page like Microsoft offers.
Things should be made as simple as possible, but not any simpler. -- Einstien..
I think things are too simple...
    What are my options?
    Help Please.

"itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes".
Just uninstall and reinstall. If you get some kind of error in the uninstall process, then if it were me, I'd use windows system restore to restore your system right before the original install of iTunes. Even if you don't get the error when you uninstall, it sounds to me like it hasn't been installed properly. So if you decide to go with system restore and the same thing happens, I would download a fresh copy of iTunes installer from their website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Make sure you download the one for Windows.
"I check windows update. Microsoft says I'm up to date."
This is because that you are. Microsoft has nothing to do with iTunes updates.

  • Error installing iTunes 8  && uninstalling iTunes 7.7

I'm having a problem upgrading to iTunes 8.
My OS is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
When installing iTunes 8 64-bit installer the setup processes reaches the "Coping New Files" stage, the progress bar pauses for a few moments, then the status changes to "Rolling Back". The installer goes to the finish page with the message:
"+The installer encountered errors before iTunes could by configured.+
+Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.+"
This occurs with the iTunes 8 32-bit installer as well.
iTunes 7.7 32-bit is currently installed. When I attempt to uninstall through Windows Add/Remove the status progress bar crashes without error during the uninstall. iTunes 7.7 is still in my program list. I attempted the "repair" option for iTunes to the same effect.
Anyone know what is being checked to make the iTunes 8 setup be rejected?
Is there a good way to manually remove iTunes?

I have *Windows Vista 32 bit*, so BE CAREFUL with this reply, since I noticed you have a 64 bit machine. I just updated from iTunes7 to iTunes8, and got an error, with both iTunes8 and Quicktime 7.5.5. A solution has been posted by "rjchaney". If you go to the disscussion thread search and type:
'Error 46 could not load or find the Quick Time ActiveX Control', without the quotes, then narrow the results by 'rjchaney', you will see a response from 'rjchaney' from Houston, TX to 'aveniras'. _*THIS SOLUTION WORKED on my dell windows vista 32 bit computer.*_ Apparently, the permissions have to be reset in the REGISTRY ! You have to run the command prompt window as an Administrator, for the reset.cmd file to be correct. Since Apple approved this solution for me, _*I think the solution to a 64 bit machine might be similar. I don't know if this will work for you.*._ Just check the commands in the reset.cmd file, and maybe this will work for you.
_*THIS SOLUTION WORKED on my dell windows vista 32 bit computer.*_
In case you don't want to search, I am copying and pasting the solution from 'rjchaney' here:
There is an old NT utility called SubInAcl.exe that can be used to reset permissions in Windows XP and also in Vista.
Step 1: Download subinacl.msi from the link
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=23418 and install it.
Step 2: Download a modified version of reset.cmd from here
    http://gerger.com/o/assets/x/?id=22540
and save the file in 'C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools'.
Step 3: Open Command Prompt and type the following without quotes (hit Enter):
    'cd c:\program files\windows resource kits\tools'
Step 4: Now type 'reset.cmd' and hit Enter (without quotes)
You will see the Command Line Tool running for some seconds. The issue should have been fixed and Quicktime should run again.
_*This solution Worked on my Dell Inspiron 530s, with Windows Vista 32 bit*._
