HTTP Trigger, update Web Content
Hello,
I've only recently started playing around with http triggers and I've created the following simple script (please see screen grab below).
The script (in it's basic form) accepts input from a html webform (hosted on a different webserver) for a call back.
It places a call into a queue and once an agent takes the call, they confirm the call back request at which point the call is directed to the customer by calling them.
As you can see, there is also a "HTTP Redirect" line to a confirmation page, however, the redirect only occurs once the script has ended (the call is redirected).
However, I want this confirmation page to be displayed straight away to the customer so that they don't have to sit on their web browser waiting for the call back. Is there a simple way to send content to the customer in this way?
Is there a way to update the content on the customers browser as soon as the trigger is hit?
I could do the confirmation on the html externally, however, I'd like to have the possibility to have a different redirect page should the callback service fail.
Thanks in advance.
Craig Rogers
Hi,
what you probably want is the "Send HTTP Response" step.
Send back a simple HTML page that contains a meta refresh tag with the URL of the confirmation page.
This may trigger a ContactInactiveException that you may want to handle gracefully.

Hello,
I posted a couple of questions elsewhere but realize now they may be related.
Since I installed OS 10.4.10, my iMac has been having problems updating some web pages and widget content.
For example, the Wimbledon.org home page is stuck on "Day 2 - Tuesday June 26" every time I open it using either Safari 3.0.2 or Firefox 2.0.0.4 (the same page on other computers normally shows today's date). Reloading does not help. More generally, for news sites, I need to constantly reload almost every page to get recent content, otherwise, it usually shows results from my last visit.
Also, my Apple Weather widget is giving me weather from last Friday or even earlier. I can check new cities with up-to-date forecast, but checking my regular cities like New York, NY continuously returns weather info and forecast from last week.
This sounds like a cache issue, so here is what I have done so far:
- Empty all caches (system, internet, kernel, dashboard, etc...) using Onyx as well as manually trashing folders
- Running the maintenance scripts
- Repair permissions and verify disks: all OK
- De-installing Safari 3.0.2 and reinstalling it (though the issue also affects Firefox)
- Deinstalling and reinstalling the Weather widget
- Refresh all windows and widgets using command-R or shift-click reload.
- Trashing preferences for Safari and widgets
Nothing helped. Moreover, I have no third party extension on Safari.
The exact same configuration on another computer (MacBook) seems to work fine now, though the first two days after OS 10.4.10 installation had some of the issues described above.
It looks like my computer does not want to age and refuses to update some web content!
Any suggestions, other than what I have already done? Should I try reverting to OS 10.4.9 or is there a fix?
Thanks,
SachaHi Sacha - there have been a lot of problems after updating to 10.4.10, a reliable fix is to perform an Archive and Install and then use the 10.4.9 combo updater to revert to 10.4.9.
This generally fixes all problems, and is pretty painless to do.

I post my web on an account other than .MAC. My question concerns updating a web page's content. I have many pdf and doc files that I link to within my site. The reside in iWeb created folders. When I change the content of a pdf or doc file and just publish it to my site and later publish my iWeb web to a folder, the ftped content is overwritten.
I have to link to the changed file and then rename the link to something other than the default xxx.pdf. Then publish to a folder.
Is there a better method?
Thanks
HarveyI do not know if I understand you. I try to explain better: I make a change in code, publish and upload files via FTP to hosting. Then I call the customer and ask him to look at the new version, then he enters your browser, enter the URL and says he sees the same old version. And to me, that happens the same sometimes, not always.
Then the client tells me worried that if it has happened to him, also can happen to anyone on the web and that, therefore, that user will not see the new dates calendar of events.
From what I understand, you propose adding the Location reload() Method (with forceGet parameter to True) in any event code in Edge or maybe directly in index.html file. Is that so?
If so, where would you recommend me to insert?
And, is there no other way to get only new and modified files and not reload all page elements every time that you visit the website?
Thank you very much. -
Mail web content - hogging memory after 10.10.2 update
Since the 10.10.2 update my computer is grinding to a halt, it seems to always be mail web content which seems to be 1-2gb, I can force quit and its fine again for a little while. No idea why as was perfectly fine before. I have run repair permissions and a verify disk and all fine. Any ideas as its driving me crazy!
I have upgraded my 2011 Macbook Pro and my 2011 Mini Server
to 8 gig with Corsair RAM and have had no issues
(CMSA8GX3M2A1333C9). What brand RAM was used?
There have been issues in the past with some RAM
brands.
Something to try is a PRAM reset with the 8 gig installed.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mh26871.html
Also, make sure the Minis are booting into 64 bit mode.
Open Applications->Utilities->System Information
On the left side click the software heading. There should be a line
64-bit Kernel and Extensions: Yes
This should be the default for 2010 and 2011, but something could
have got hosed. -
Reliable update of Web Content in Overlays
Hi,
whenever I'm creating Web Content Overlays in Folios I stumble about the problem, that they wont update on the DPS Servers. So if I change, let's say the CSS of the embedded Web-Content, save the .CSS, the InDesign File and update the Article via FolioBuilder sometimes the content stays the same when I update via Adobe Viewer on iPad.
My workaround now: Create a different HTML file in a different folder and point to that new folder/file from the Web Content Overlay. But this is really ugly and stops me from developing faster.
Any idea?If you are testing on iOS then this is unfortunately a bug in iOS, not a bug in DPS. The operating system is caching the files even after we update them and feeding the cached content to the web overlay

I am getting regular safari crashes including the Web Content crashes as in the title. I've looked around and haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Has anybody discovered what is causing this?
I've also noticed generally my iMac seems to be running far slower recently....

Web content stopped working - could someone have a try?
Last week I created a little HTML file that shows an audio play button. When you tap it, it starts streaming 30 seconds of audio (from Amazon, yes I know, naughty, but it's just a proof of concept) and the button changes into a pause button. Repeatedly tapping the button has the effect of resuming playback or pausing until the audio clip has finished.
It works in Safari and Chrome. And last week, it was working on my folio pages (not Desktop Content Viewer) when put in a small web content frame and set to Auto Play. Now the audio playback has stopped working and I've no idea why. Would anyone like to have a go? The HTML and two buttons are here (only 7KB):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1130319/blockheads.zip
Unzip it and try it in a web browser. Then try it on a DPS folio page on your iPad. If it works for you, then I've done something odd. If it doesn't work for you, perhaps it was only working for me last week in a dream.
Thanks!Alistair, I just loaded the HTML in Safari as well as in a folio and in both instances I could not hear the audio. [update: Google Chrome is also not playing any audio]
I do know that internally we had an escalation where HTML5 audio was reported to not be playing. Across a handful of iPads we found that in MobileSafari some iPads would play the audio, others would not. We were unable to find a pattern, perhaps it's an access rights issue? -

It seems it can't find a file or set of files in ///C:/Program Files/Business Objects/BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5/Web Content/bin. I looked in this folder and the only file there is WCA_Enterprise.dll.
This all was working last week and I haven't run any updates so I'm not sure what happened to the files if, in fact, there were any to begin with.
Is there a simple way to get these files back?
Thanks,
ArtHello Art,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all BOE Administration queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

Web Content Overlay Link to the HTML Resources
Hi guys,
Does anyone know what should go inside of "URL or File" field for the Web Content overlay if I need file from the HTMLResources.zip?
DPS documentation is very unclear/confusing (e.g. there is no ".html" at the end):
For the file inside of HTMLResources.zip with this path:
HTMLResources.zip/Cartoons/train1.html
Documentation (https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/hyperlink-overlays.html#link_to_asse ts_in_the_html_resources_folder) has:
Web Content overlays are nested two levels deeper than an HTML article. Example:
<a href=”../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1”>See Train Cartoon Gallery</a>
I'm getting an error "File URL for web content is missing or does not exist" if I enter this inside of the "URL or File" field:
../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1
Thank you for your help,
GennadyThank you, joev and Bob,
Update to the text below: I just realized that documentation explains how to call some file from the HTML content of the Web Content Overlay, not how to get the HTML content inside the Web Content Overlay. I can probably do redirect to the train1.html from plain HTML code inserted into Web Content Overlay. So there is no way to use link to the file as for the http://webServerPath/Cartoons/train1.html?
We have 1 html file that uses 1 image file, both files inside the folder inside HTMLResources.zip and I need to display that html, so:
HTMLResources.zip/Cartoons/train1.html
HTMLResources.zip/Cartoons/train1.png - referenced inside train1.html
If I use http URL, e.g.
http://webServerPath/Cartoons/train1.html
then everything works, if I try to set that URL to the HTMLResources:
../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1
or
../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1.html
I'm getting an error, even documentation explains what link should be used.
Workaround when we just use the local HTML folder also works.
Thank you! -
Web content and viewer UI issue
I have a pure CSS3 bar chart web content overlay which has several buttons and radio button for the user to interact with which animated the data of the graphs. My issue is that every time I tap on an interactive element the viewer app UI keeps showing and hiding on each tap.
I've created another bar graph with jQuery and have the exact same issue. I've used web content with other HTML assets both jQuery and CSS3 and these navigational elements don't have the same problem.
Is it the fact that I'm using form elements to trigger the interactivity istead of links?
I've also ran a test using http://www.oesmith.co.uk/morris.js/ donnut chart which is jQuery/SVG based and I get the same issue.
Any clues?
Many thanks!
MariyaYou need to make sure that your JavaScript code indicates it has handled the tap events. If not you'll wind up with the event bubbling up to the viewer and triggering our navigational UI.

Keynote 4 - Update web page while presentation is playing ??? Pretty please
Hello, this would be the 'holy grail' for me. I want to have keynote display web pages live in a real estate office but I don't want the agents having to restart Keynote to make it update the web content. While Keynote 4 is already in the bag - I hope, pray, burn candles, etc. that the Mac guys have included this most wanted feature.
Has anyone heard rumors from the black hole that is Apple reguarding features for Keynote 4? I know about Jobs iPhone presentation and the possible new effects but LIVE updating is where Keynote needs to go.
... I'm going to light another candle.
Bill
G5 2.7 Dual Mac OS X (10.4.9)I'd like to do this as well - it can apparently be done using Powerpoint on a PC using LiveWeb http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm, but this doesn't work on the Mac version of Powerpoint.
Surely someone has done this?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to instantly refresh new/changed BEx Web content? (By refresh or reloading, I get partial update and usually take a day to see intended change show up on the Web)
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Hsiao-Chun WuHi,
You can do this in transaction SMICM > menu Goto > HTTP Server Cache > Invalidate > Global in System.
It is controlled by parameter: icm/HTTP/server_cache_0/expiration which has a deafult value of 86400 (seconds). See:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/02153aab4a0c0ee10000000a114084/content.htm
Hope this helps... -
The "clear now" button not working on cached web content
I clicked Tools>option>advanced>cached web content, then clicked the "clear now" button>ok, nothing showed as if the button is not working and there was no clear action.
That button to clear the cache is likely broken because the current Firefox 32 release has switched to a new cache service named Cache2.
This change will cause extensions that use the old cache service to stop working and its developer needs to update the extension.
You can check the Add-ons website to see if there is already a version available that is possibly not approved yet.

SafariDAVClient and Safari Web Content hogs my iMac
I am running Mavericks 10.9.3 on my iMac 27", 2.7 ghx Core /i5. Frequently the browsing becomes worse than sluggish, actually at a stand still. If I put my mouse point over Safari, it shows the rotating BeachBall. If I start Activity Monitor, Safari, SafariDAVClient and multiple copies of Safari Web Content appear to be the processes using the cpu power (I have one cpu with four cores). Also, no surprise, Flash Player (Safari Internet plugj-in) is using around 5% of my CPU even though it is only used in a tab of a window which is fully hidden. I am not running any movies on any page. I wish I could be sure which adware might be using the excessively overused Flash plugins and wasting my cpu power. In theory there should be no flash contents being processed.
I've seen this problem since OS X Lion and it has continued through Mountain Lion and Mavericks. With Snow Leopard I used to be able (on the same iMac or its predecessor which was slower) four or five broswer windows each having 5-7 tabs. These open web sites usually didn't not involve animation except for what advertisements did. Since updating to Lion and worse with each release since then my performance in browsing has done a nosedive. To put this in context, three years ago, at work I ran a moderately speedy PC (not as fast as my iMac) with Windows XP. XP didn't perform as well as Snow Leopard but it clearly outperformed every OS X system I've run since then. I noticed a clear step backwards at each new OS major release. The dot releases in between the major releases didn't have a noticable good or bad affect. Some bugs were fixed, a very good thing, but performance stayed as bad as it was before the update.
Don't misunderstand me, I rather like OS X. In featuers and usability it tops Windows any day (through XP, don't get me started on Windows 8, I never used Windows 7).
I have tried other broswers. In turn I have used Safari, Chrome, and Aurora (Firefox alpha) exclusively. when I make the switch things get better. But in a day or two, they bog down again. Chrome is probably my favorite overall but Safari is good in most ways. I've had issues with Firefox besides performance. My daugher recommented Aurora as working better but it is an alpha release so less stable.
Please do not refer me to the discussion at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3204349?start=0&tstart=0. It does not work with Mavricks. It tells me to turn off Bookmarks in SysPref/iClouce - there is no Bookmark check box at the moment. It also tests me to rename two files name bookmark.* in ~/Library. There are no such files. ~/Library only contains directorys and a search using Find ~/Library |grep -i bookmark had no matches when run in Terminal.
Any other suggests relevant to Mavricks?
Thanks,
