HTTPS with portal only for logon ?

Hey,
Is it possible to have the portal logon procedure secured by HTTPS but to have all further data transfers with portal done on the HTTP protocol ?
So - i see a HTTPS page to log on, but after logon (exactly after a SAP Logon Ticket has been sent to user) i get switched to HTTP.
Can i do it ? If yes, how ?

Basically, I want to switch after the SAPLogonTicket is assigned back to HTTP, because I only need to secure the exchange of the User/Password. After that, I don´t want to waste performance for securing not so interessting portal pages.
So, do you know how to achieve this?

Enabling HTTPS with Client Authentication for Sender SOAP Adapter on PI7.1

We are currently building up a HTTPS message exchange with an external client.
Our PI 7.1 recieved over HTTPS messages on an already configured Sender SOAP Adapter.
The HTTPS (SSL) connectivity works fine and was completely configured on the ABAP Stack at Trust Manager (TC=STRUSTSSO2)
Login to Message Servlet "com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.web.MessageServlet is required and works fine with user ID and password.
Now we have to configure the addtional Client Authentication.
At SOAP Adapter (Sender Communication Channel) under "HTTP Security Level"you are able to configure "HTTPS with Client Authentication".
But what are the next steps to get this scenario successfully in place?

Hi Colleagues,
following Steps still have to be done:
- Mapping public key to technical user at Java Stack
As preparation you have to activate value "ume.logon.allow.cert" with true under "com.sap.security.core.ume.service" under Config Tool. At NWA under Identity Management at for repecively technical user the public key certificate
- Be sure CA root certivicate at Database under STRUSTSSO2
- Import intermediate Certificate under Certificate List at Trast Manager for the Respecive Server Note
- use Login Module "client_cert" which you have to configure under NWA\Configuration Management\Authentication for Components "sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.app*XISOAPAdapter".

Sync with Outlook ONLY for a specific date range

I have a Zire 31 that I'm syncing with Outlook via latest Palm Desktop/HotSync. I did just install the latest conduit.
I was getting several repeating calendar entries that were not syncing with the Zire (annual birthdays, etc.) - turns out that they did not have an "end-date" specified when created in Outlook. Creating an end-date solved the problem.
However - I would like to know if it is possible to specify a certain date range for the device to sync (e.g., sync calendar only for years 2007 through 2050, or in other words sync from 1 year ago to 50 years in future, etc...)
I recall specifying this once years ago, but I may have been using a third party to sync with Lotus Notes at the time. I'm wondering if this option is also available with syncing directly with Outlook using HotSync??? I can't imagine it's not, but I can't find where you specify it.
One more interesting note: while my Zire 31 had issues syncing those repeating calendar entries - my much older HandSpring Visor Deluxe syncs them no problem! Go figure.

I'm not actually looking to purge old items.
Rather - I would like to ONLY sync calendar entries between a specified range of dates. For example - ONLY sync for calendar entries between Jan 1 2007 and Jan 1, 2050.
the problem is that I have some repeating entries (birthdays, etc.) that are set up in Outlook with no end date. Apparently Palm/HotSync is having trouble syncing these (they don't show up at all - for any year.)
One resolution is to apply an end-date for each repeating calendar entry. However, this is just another step my wife needs to remember to do. If you happen to forget to to this, then Hotsync will ignore that entry. Fine if you realize that's happening, but if you forget and forget to check - you won't even know it didn't sync!
The other possible resolution is to only have HotSync sync for a SPECIFIC date range - one that does not presumably go to infinity. That is my question - how does one sync ONLY for a specific date range. Has nothing to do with purging old entries.

Lock the table by user with grant only for select

Hallo.
It is possible that the user has rights only for SELECT, do not lock the table? Now, where do "SELECT * FROM table FOR UPDATE", does not make the change, but it locks the entire table, and another user to get into it.

Problem with portal theme for WD Application

Hi Experts,
We have enhanced our ECC with EHP4 and SP18 in our existing portal.And now i am getting some theme problem.
I have few Wendynpro ABAP application in the portal which was coming with correct theme earlier bur after
enhancement all the other application in the portal are coming with the proper theme except all the
Webdynpro abap application.
All the WDApplicatio are coming as blue same like its coming in the backend system.I tried with many option
but i am not able to correct it since i have very little knowledge about the portal.

The problem is probably due to the fact that ERP Enhp4 contains NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Package 1 in which SAP delivers the Lightspeed rendering and the new Signature theme SAP_TRADSHOW_PLUS. The Portal at the 7.0 SP18 release level would not have the correct mimes for Tradeshow Plug or for Lightspeed. If the UR rendering of the backend is higher than that of the portal, it has to fallback to using the local stylesheet of the ABAP AS to protect that hte rendering is done correctly (see OSS Note 1267950 and 1033496). You can try the option WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET, but because of the drastic differences in the 7.01 and 7.0 rendering this will very likely lead to rendering errors (visual errors or more serious - JavaScript errors).

In my experience, with most of the apps that I use on a regular basis, most must be installed on the boot drive. You can't just 'move', for example, Adobe CC applications, Office apps (as you note), etc.
If I were the OP, I would install all apps on the SSD - they actually take up very little room - and insatll only user files, etc., on an external drive.

Blank Page on SRM Portal only for one user.

Hello Guys,
Facing a challenging issue in SRM production Portal.
We have one user who is getting blank page while accesing confirmation link on SRM Portal.
Everything is working fine on Portal except this link for this user.
Everyone can see that page except this user.
I checked below things.
a) This user has appropriate backend and Portal roles.
b) User has appropriate permission on Portal(checked end user permission).
c) Checked the settings of IE.
d) User is getting the same problem in other machines as well.
e) I did re-create his SAP Id and still problem persists.
Portal is connected to Active Directory.
Please let me know what could be the reason for this problem.

User hasnt done anything. He didnt collapse the page as he didnt even get on to the page.
I cant check the user id on different browser because of clients IT policy.

Minimum settings required to implement the https in portal

Currently SAP Portal connected with SAP R/3 and ADS server and all are running on http protocol.
Current requirement is to implement the Https in portal only. So can you please write me what is minimum settings are required to implement the https in portal.

Only HTTPS requests are working for SOAP Sender and HTTP not working

wHi Experts,
We have enabled our HTTPS port ( SSL ) in NWA -- >> Security -- >> SSL and Key stores. So understanding is HTTPS port is now enabled on top of HTTP. So PI should be able to cater requests at both ports.
Now, we have developed a synchronous SOAP to RFC scenario and downloaded WSDL file. This file has both links -
a. http:<host>:<port>
b. https:<host>:<port>
We intend to make a PI system where both ports can work. Now questions.
1. When we test web service exposed from PI using SOAPUI tool, only HTTPS works fine and gets the response back. If we try HTTP URL, an error is encountered - HTTTPS scheme is required.
2. Is this whole understanding that both ports ( HTTP, HTTPS ) should be able to operate simultaneously correct ? Or this is not at all possible ?
3. In SOAP Sender, we tried selecting all 3 options - 1. HTTP 2. HTTPS without client authentication 3. HTTPS with client authentication.
None of the options have any effect on testing, Each time, only HTTPS request works and HTTP doesn't.
Can anyone please provide some hints for troubleshooting ?

The error "HTTPS scheme is required" is normally returned when the HTTP Security Level on the SOAP adapter is not set to "HTTP". I can see you have mentioned you have tried all these, maybe a cache refresh has gone wrong? Could try recreating the channel with just HTTP specified as security level and this should allow HTTP or HTTPS
I assume you are using a different port number for your HTTP and HTTPS requests from SOAP UI. Normally the HTTPS port is the same as the HTTP port number but the final zero changed to a 1 i.e. https://<host>:50001 instead of http://<host>:50000.
You should be able to confirm both HTTP and HTTPS work OK by loading some of the system webpages in a browser over HTTP and over HTTPS i.e. http://<host>:<port>/nwa and https://<host>:<port>/nwa

I have the following issues when i integrate a Web Dynpro for ABAP application with portal.
1. the iview does not contain some images, such as table scroll button images, maximize and close buttons of popups etc.
2. the iview loads properly, but there is an error in the status bar that says "Access denied"
3. is it possible to do absolute navigation from
   role1->folder1->iview1 to role1->folder2->iview2?
   when i fire this navigation from the webdynpro
   application, the navigation does not happen in the
   portal.

I think you are overestimating the power of the SCM_STRING_TO_XSTRING function module. By supplying a URL as the value of the input text, it isn't going to magically go read the content from the remote location and convert that to a binary string. It is going to take whatever value you supply in th importing TEXT parameter convert that to binary. In other words it is literally converting the string http://xxx/test.xls to binary. You will need some other mechanism to read the content from the remote location into ABAP memory before you can process it. You will need to use the CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or call some sort of web service to retrive the content.
