Serial Numbers in Inventory Management – Warehouse Managed storage location

Serial Numbers in Inventory Management u2013 Warehouse managed storage locations
We want to run inventory cycle at the warehouse for materials. These materials are u2018serial numberedu2019 in the material master. During the initial entry (say GR) of the materials, systems prompt for the serial numbers. At this point, system offers option of assignments of serial numbers automatically.
While running an inventory cycle for warehouse u2013 and posting difference at WM level (LI01), system is throwing error as u201Cmaintain serial number for totol quantityu201D. System does not promt me to enter the serial number for the materials (count) which are found excess/shortage duing the inventory cycle.
Is there any configuration where this scenario can be managed; system should prompt us to enter serial number while posting differenes at WM level (LI20).
The inventory cycle is -
1.     Create Physical Inventory Documents - LI01N
2.     Activate Physical Inventory Document -      LI02N
3.     Enter Count -     LI11N
4.     Post Differences at WM level -     LI20
5.     Post Differences at IM level(If Differences are posted at WM ) -     LI21

Curious to know: The WM Inventory transaction - LI11N - (where we enter physical count. )
1. Compared to MI04 - IM Inventory Transaction: where a pop-up window asks for serial number of the material.
2. We expect a similar pop-up at LI11N transaction- where the system should ask serial numbers.
Q.1 How can we achieve this?
Q.2 Will this be a standard SAP practice? (if we do customizing to get serial nos. pop-up window at LI11N)

Creation of new handling unit management storage location

I am using transaction HU02 and create a handling unit from existing material. But i don't have any HU management storage locations in the system.
Could you please explain me how to create a HUM storage location?

The number range object 1 does not exist
Message no. NR002
Diagnosis
The number range object was not defined.
Procedure
Maintain the specified number range object using Transaction SNRO.
I've customized number range for object LE_SSCC in SNRO.
Сould you please advise, what is my mistake?

Automatic Inbound Delivery Creation in HU Managed Storage Location

I have created PO, packing instruction, and packing instruction determination.
Storage location was set to HU managed already.
Now I want do GR for PO (with MIGO transaction) which can create inbound delivery automatically, and also do the packing process.
Which config/setting should I do?

In IMG-Logistics general-HUM-Basics-MM-IM-HU req for SL and default values for deliveries
Select the plant and click Sto Loc there u can find HU ReQ, Check that HU Req Box.
If you set this indicator for a storage location, the system does not create a material document when it carries out a posting, but creates a delivery via Shipping

Create a WM managed storage location

I have created a new Storage location which I would like to use to transfer materials to a warehouse storage bin.
How do I make it so that a storage location is connected to my warehouse? This is so that I can use MIG to transfer materials from a non-wm storage location to this new wm storage location.
My end goal is to transfer materials from this wm storage location and put them in a storage bin.

You need to assign the plant+storage location to a warehouse.
Go to SPRO -> Enterprise structure ->Assignment ->Logistics execution ->Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location.

Manual staging from IM managed Storage location

Hello all,
I have a client process where i want to do a manual staging from a IM based storage location to production.
Is it possible to do a manual staging to production from an IM based storage location and if there are any process pl. let me know. post the t-code and the process and any documents/links related to it.

Can i use the Transfer posting for manual material staging to move the stock from IM based storage location to production.
Is it possible as i am not sure whether production has a separate storage location.
Please define your question... How can you expect an answer w/o knowing yourself what are you asking???
You asked about material staging from storage location to production. You can use MF60 (or MF60+MF65) for this purpose.
If there's no production storage location you can post only GI (mvt 261) e.g in CO27, MIGO, MB1A, etc.

How to Block postings for WM managed storage location

Hi Experts,
The scenario is we want to block posting for all materials for a WM managed sloc. We cannot use Authorisation management due to some limitations. Please suggest any other way to do this.

We are looking for an option where we do not have to do any configuration changes and flag for deletion or archive is not an option for us because it is just a temporary requirement. Moreover there are some technical limitations due to complexities in ALE so we cannot use MM06. Any other ways that anybody can think of?

Stock transfer between two WM managed storage locations

Hi,
I want to transfer some stock between two wm enabled storage loc (wm 120 and sl 0001 to another wm 200 and sl 0006) but
not able to do so. Got to know that there are two components involved in this one IM and WM. I am new in WM so do not have much idea please provide me the right solutions.

Stock transfer w/o delivery:
You can execute the goods movement in IM (one-step or two step) and after that you can process the TRs which are generated when posting GI/GR (hopefully your config is OK and TR is created automatically; else you have to maintain WM-IM interface). You can process the relevant TR from LB10 both in supplying plant (TO wiill be created from TR --> stock removal) and in receiving plant (TO will be created from TR --> putaway TO)
Stock transfer with delivery:
In supplying plant you have to pick the delivery (you have to create TO), you can do this e.g. via trx LT03, VL06O, VL02N (from "Subsequent functions" manu). In receiving plant you have to process the TR (from LB10) which is generated when GR is posted.
(based on your WM-IM interface setting you may not get TR but immediate TO creation can be triggered, etc. If you are using inbound delivery as well you have to create putaway TO, etc.)
Please specify your problem you are facing - in this case you may get specific answer.

Storage location and post.chge storage location not in the same warehouse

We have HU managed Storage Location, and in this Storage Location we have SUT managed Warehouse, Now while Goods Receipt we have to create inbound delivery, which is working fine and i can see my stock in Goods receipt area,, later on whicle creating Transfer Order to putaway in a bin i have a error message "Storage location and post.chge storage location not in the same warehouse" please help me with this error message. Thank you for all your inputs.

Thank you for the input. I am receiving Stock from vendor and while creating Inbound delivery i created the Handling Unit and also packed it and i could also post it (PG Receipt). Now when i am creating TO i have that error message. The Storage Location where i am receiving is 9001and i have also maintained the partner Storage location,,, its like this Plant(1000)-SLoc(9001)-Partner SLoc(9002).... now the Storage Location 9002 is not HU managed,, the reason i gave this Storage location is, initially i gave 9001, but system said "Storage Location 9001 and 9001 must have different management systems". So now kindly tell me what is the purpose of the partner Storage location and which storage location should i give, as my partner Storage location across "1000-9001-????" thank you again for ur inputs.

Storage location selection in RQAAAS10 QA07

i want to run trx qa07 storage location wise.
is it possible to run this report for specific storage locations?
or is there any user exit to control inspection lot or material document creation for storage location?
my main purpose is
1- create inspection lot and material document only for ( storage location x)
but if if it is not possible, material creating material document in storage location wise will also solve my problem.

what you mean by one by one?
there is only material in selection screen. there is no field like storage location?
the problem is because of decentralised warehouse scenario. system do not allow to make stock movement from decentralised WM storage location and regular storage location at the same time. If same batch is in different storage location, we have problem. if there is no stock in decentralised WM managed storage location, there is no problem with material document from different storage locations.
So we have to options:
1- not to allow stock movement for decentalised WM managed storage location
2- to do another material movement for each storage location

Error while executing MFBF for HU storage location

Hello Experts,
Can you please explain me the step by step process as how to perform Backflush for materials stored in HU managed storage location. I am trying to do this for a make to order 'sales order' but I get error "Receving storage location 0200 in plant 2000 is HU-managed".
I need to do this for HU managed storage location(0200) but I get above error when try to save the document. Please let as what exact steps i need to follow to do GR for the above.

Thanks for the reply but what i have seen in our production system in Transaction MFBF is showm in the document display and it has Handling unit assigned to it and also it is posted against an order (order has been created only for costing purpose). I have attached screen shot below.
I am new to REM process, Can you please share me the steps how this is done or any documents or any link to understand how process is done.

Handling Unit - Storage Location

Hi,
Finished product is lying against sales order in a particualr
storage location eg: 1000 . Is it possible to create handling
unit through Outbound delivery in the same storage location .
If it is possible is it the right method to do.

Well if you want to Pack HUs for Outbound Delivery in a HU managed Storage Location (SLOC 1000 for ex) then make sure that the SLOC is not Warehouse Managed with Storage Unit Management activated.
Just performing HU operations at SLOC level is fine. But once you activate WM with SU Mgmt you need to create Partner Storage Location (virtual) to perform Pack-Unpack operations.
Reason being - you cannot perform Pack operations on a SU but on a HU only.
Read some more on the usage difference between SU-HU to help understand this.

Material staging in production with IM and WM storage locations

Hello,
I have the following situation at hand in a Client.
They use Process Orders and want to do material staging of the components.
The Production Supply área is an IM managed storage location but the storage location of the components is WM managed.
The staging should take place as pick parts (control cycle) transfering the components from the WM storage location to the IM production Storage location.
Im not sure we need to use Deliveries instead of Transfer Requirements.
Is this escenario posible and if so, how to configure it.

For Transfer requirement creation for production order components WM staging please follow below steps.
1.Activate PP interface in Warehouse number control for PP interface in Logistic execution.
2.You need to assign WM replenishment movement type 319 against the production supply storage type.
3.In production scheduling profile all necessary WM TR/TO configuration to be done based on your requirement.
4.Create PSA in PK05.
5.Create Control cycle in LPK1.
6.Assign the PSA to production work centers.
With above settings once production order is released TR gets created which could be converted to TO manually or automatically for further process.
