Hub 4 Repeatedly Demands Set-Up of Parental Contro...

I've recently started using a Hub 4. It works fine, however whenever I, or more usually a visitor, connects a device to it for the first time (typically wirelessly) the user is unable to browse until they have fought their way past some parental control set-up pages.
When I first started using the Hub 4 I went through the same process - reluctantly - using my one and only machine, and thought that was it, for the Hub, for the remainder of eternity. It is very annoying for people using other devides to have to repeat the process and I was wondering whether other users have had the same problem, whether there is a way of avoiding it in future, and whether the behaviour manifested is the result of a bug, or an ill-considered design feature. Incidentally sometimes I have had to input my BT account user name and password in order to get the parental control screens to go away.
Thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks for the last posting. As you correctly anticipated the problem was that Smart Setup was turned on, and I have now turned it off.
I don't think I'd have worked out the solution very easily myself. The existence of this, er, facility isn't obvious, and no manual was provided.
By the way, the forum applications may not be working correctly: despite checking the 'Email me when someone replies' box no such e-mail arrived :-(.
Thanks again.

  • Can't set a second parent

    I am attempting to set the second parent control but it wont let me.

    This is in the FamillyBase FAQ, and may be the answer to your problem.
    I have a second parent on my Verizon FamilyBase™ account. How does that parent access FamilyBase?
    In addition to the primary parent, a second parent who is designated as an Account Manager or Account Owner can access Verizon FamilyBase in My Verizon.
    In order to assign a second parent role to a family member, that family member must first be designated as an assigned Account Manager in My Verizon.  As an Account Manager, the second parent can access all the Verizon FamilyBase functionality in My Verizon with their own login and password.
    The second parent can also access FamilyBase from an Android™ device, iPhone® or basic phone. Go to familybase.vzw.com from the device’s Internet browser to get the Android app or the link to the mobile-optimized website.

  • Would the CSS style set to a parent node be inherited to underlying nodes?

    Hi,
    Would the CSS style set to a parent node be inherited to underlying nodes?
    With below code, style setting to parent(VBox) is not getting inherited to children(Text).
    Style.java
    package style;
    import javafx.application.Application;
    import javafx.scene.Group;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.layout.VBox;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.text.Text;
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    public class Style extends Application {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Application.launch(Style.class, args);
        @Override
        public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
            primaryStage.setTitle("Hello World");
            Group root = new Group();
            Scene scene = new Scene(root, 300, 250, Color.LIGHTGREEN);
            scene.getStylesheets().add("/style/style1.css");
            // Create children
            Text text1 = new Text("Text1");
            Text text2 = new Text("Text2");
            // Create parent and set style
            VBox vBox = new VBox();
            vBox.getChildren().addAll(text1, text2);
            vBox.getStyleClass().add("font-normal");
            root.getChildren().add(vBox);
            primaryStage.setScene(scene);
            primaryStage.setVisible(true);
    }Style1.css
    .font-normal {
        -fx-font-size: 9pt;
        -fx-font-family: "Arial";
        -fx-fill: #FF0000;

    Hello Simosh,
    I know you are thinking of VBox as container so their children must have inherited the css of parent like as of HTML <div> pattern. But in JavaFx this is different every node has it's CSS implemented from the Parent of their extended class . Even if you add children inside VBox CSS has nothing to do with children. So to make children to use the css of VBox then you must call getStyleClass().add() explicitly for every children.
    Either you call getStyleClass() for every node
    or you can make a custom Container as on below
    A sample getChildren() overriding of VBox which make VBox children to use their parent css.
    Algorithm to make your custom VBox
    class MyBox extends VBox{
         @Override public ObservableList<Node> getChildren(){
              //iterate children of super
                   //now bind your children.styleclass with super.styleclass
              //end of iterate
              //return children
    }Thanks.

  • Repeat button set is set to white= off.  but next song always plays

    Repeat button set is set to white= off, but the next song always plays with shuffle either on or off.
    The other two (Blue) Repeat options function properly.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    If you touch the screen in album cover mode it will bring up the controls for repeat and shuffle. This is all covered in the iPod User Guide available at: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_iOS4_UserGuide.pdf

  • I need to help set up my parents laptop with a second iTunes account then sync an iPad and shuffle

    It's post Christmas and I'd like to help my parents by setting up my dad onto itunes ( has his own apple ID already ) as he just got an iPad    Thing is, the laptop has moms iTunes already.  I need to find a tutorial on how to do the second iTunes account.  We don't need to share files as both want to control own purchases and own playlists.  On dads account we need to add a shuffle.
    Is it simple? As in once I download iTunes again, I log out mom and log in dad .
    How Can this be done?
    Thanks.

    Hello Miss,
    To set up a new Windows user account, if it is Windows 7, go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > Add or Remove User Accounts > Create New Account.
    The old laptop is probably on Windows XP, so the menus may look a little different.
    Once they each have their own Windows user account, they can each work with their own iTunes library, and all content will be independently managed.  That should avoid snarls and demerits in the coming year.

  • "Remind me" not working when "Repeat" is set for reminders

    Hi,
    My reminders used to work fine. I have a number of reminders that are set to repeat daily, or weekly, or monthly etc and they use to come up as alarms. For past few days I'm noticing they arent coming up anymore.
    I just did a test.
    I created a reminder with repeat set to never. And another with repeat set to daily. For both I set the "Remind me" to say 5 mins later.
    5 mins later, only the first reminder alarm came up.
    I would really appreciate any help pls.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.
    So here is what I did:
    1. Closed all apps: Double tapped home button. This swiping up and off isnt available in my iphone 4S v5.1.1. So I pressed the app icons right on the bottom until delete sign appear on top. Then I deleted all of them.
    2. Reset my device: Held down the home button along with wake button until Power Off slider appeared. I powered off my device.
    After restart i again set 2 reminders, one with repeat daily and the other without any repeat.
    After 5 mins, alert came ONLY for the one without repeat.
    So it dint work

  • New to Mac.  Trying to set up some parental controls...

    I am attempting to set up parental controls on my new Mac Mini.  I am getting an administrator log-in request asking for username and password.  I didn't set up parental controls yet so I have no idea why it is asking for this.  Is there a way to clear the existing username / log-in so I can create a new one?

    When you first turned on your new Mac mini, you set up the initial user account. This is the administrator account. When asked for an admin password, use the password for that initial account.

    although we have iphones and ipads, this is our first imac and we wanted to know the best ways to set up multiple users with parental controls

    I'm assuming you have the lastet OSX version 10.9 "Mavericks." Here are some useful links from Apple I think will help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14414
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14099
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14280
    and a video:

    I suspect you have a newer iMac than the pre-2006 models this forum covers (the forum labels are unbelieveably vague). If you can confirm that yours is newer than 2005, I can ask the Hosts to move you the the forum for current iMacs, which gets many more views.

  • BT hub & Sky On-Demand

    Hello - and Help!
    Have BT Hub2 and wireless connected Sky+TV, all worked well since connection (7months) until 3 weeks ago, On-demand has just stopped. Nothing untoward happened that I am aware of. Our iPhone, iPad and Kindles are fine - hub is working with everything else. BT can't find an issue and have tried, and second Sky engineer came out today - new box tried and hard wiring the connection - still didn't work. One point of note - engineer couldn't get onto our Wifi on his iPad or phone, nobody else 'new' has tried, all our devices have been around pre The Trouble. HELP! We have tried all rebooting, unplugging, resetting password, back-ups, updates, changing broadband channels etc. Sky has left and BT has tried, has anyone any thoughts? Would a new Hub help? Thanks in anticipation.
    Solved!

  • Repeat rings setting gone? (not text reminder)

    Unless I'm losing it, I used to be able to set the number of times a ring tone repeated.... NOT the text reminder, but the number of times any of the default tones for my incoming calls would sound.  If the sound was "beep,"  each time the phone rang it would beep-beep or beep-beep-beep, depending on the number of repeats set.  With either iOS 7 or 7.1, this appears to be gone and my rings are still repeating with no way to set then back to the default of "once."  I've tried changing ring tones and no difference.  I believe the feature used to be an accessibility option, but it's no longer there.  Any advice on how to change this, short of a factory reset? Thanks.

    Meg,
    It was definitely an option....  it's how I got into this position in the first place.  I don't use garage band and have never created ringtones or imported through iTunes.  If I could find a forum somewhere where we iOS 6 and iOS 7 menus hierarchies were posted, I'm sure we'd see this listed.

  • Custom Repeat Reminders Setting

    Hi there,
    I needed the reminder to repeat after the task was complete, which isn't currently an option in Reminders so I tried setting it up in Outlook, where it is supported and it transferred to my Mac and iOS devices correctly! I just set the task up normally in Outlook 2010 and set the Reoccurrence to regenerate new task ***fill in your criteria here*** after each task is complete. I tested this out on my iPhone 4s and Mac with success!
    Thought I would share this tip. Hope someone else finds this usefull.

    Hi Ramesh,
    You can do this from RWD Uperform, we have our custom help setup in our SAP system as the same way you described using RWD.

  • Itunes not repeating track even with 'repeat item' set

    I've got my iPhone (4.3.1) plugged into my computer and I'm using iTunes 10, and playing music from the device (so not my library).  I have iTunes set to repeat one but after the track is finished, iTunes just stops playing instead of looping it.  How can I get iTunes to repeat songs played off the device?  Thanks!

    First port of call - the decades old "turn it off and turn it on again":  Hold down the Sleep and the Home buttons until the Apple logo displays on the screen.  This will not have any effect on your data.

  • BT Hub 4 & Hub 3 repeater

    I have infinity in my 3 storey house, im getting 78mb which is fantastic but the hhb 4 is in the living room. My ps3 & pc is up on 3rd floor. I recently bought powerline adapters which work fanstic but my iphone 5 doesnt pick up the wifi that far up. I dont want to have to spend more money buying the powerline wifi adapters, can i use my old hhb 3 on top floor to increase the wifi range?

    You could add a network switch to the powerline adapter on the 3rd floor, and plug your old home hub 3 into it, plus anything else, like the PC.
    This guide may help.
    Link BT two home Hub 3s together and extend your wireless to another location.
    Just use the settings as described, for the remote home hub 3.
