Hub installation against Oracle 9206 database

We are trying to install Hyperion Hub 7.2.1 against an Oracle database. After installation we log on to console using admin/password to configure database and it creates tables and indexes in the database and console show successful database setup. After that once we restart application service and try to login to console with default username/password (admin/password) it shows "Not able to authenticate user". Can't think of anything missing. Any clues.. Your help will be highly appreciated.Thanks,

you would at least need a 9.2.0.3 version, but I guess 9.2.0.4+ is recommended.

Assuming you have an 8i client, this is a supported configuration. It new 9i features require some additional client coding, you may not be able to access them from the 8i client. I doubt you'd hit any of these issues since you're using OLE DB, though.
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of an official Oracle link that explains the policy. There is probably some note on Metalink that explains it.

Problem in installation of Oracle 10g database on RHEL 6

I am facing the problem when I am trying to install Oracle 10g database on Red Hat 6. When ./runinstaller is run, the message seems to be if I remember correctly is like ‘……………bad ELF interpreter’. But, the same source seems to be installing correctly in Red Hat 5.
Please, help in solving the doubt.

Yes that should be possible but is it a production database or just a test database.
you can always control that in metalink if it is supported, I don't believe it is.
Read that documentation to perform the installation.

Can i use oracle 7.3 drivers against oracle 8 database.

When i'm executing a stored procedure with 8i driver i'm having a problem saying "Cannot Save or Rollback in distributed transaction". But when i use oracle 7.3 drivers i'm not having any problem.My question is , Can I use oracle 7.3 dirvers with oracle 8 database.

I tried disabling MTS. That doesnt look to work. Somehow 8i drivers are working in a distributed transaction mode by default. I resolved configuring 8i drivers as not to use distributed mode and works fine for me.
For other who had this same kind of errors Solution is :
Disable distribution transaction off if you are managing manual transactions from your scripts. Example: connectstring= DNS=...;"DistribTx=0.

Problem is you don't see similar output from your lsnrctl status. Try rebooting your machine and make sure you see similar output.
How exactly are you trying to connect to your service?

Installation with Oracle 8i database and iAS8i

Hi Everybody!!
I would like to install both oracle 8i and
iAS on standalone machine such Linux.
When I tried to that, I had a problem.
If there is anybody that already installed them on one machine successfully, Would you please tell me ?

I have them on one machine running RH7. I hope to upgrade to 8iR3 and IAS9i in the near future.
My system has both installations in separate directories with separate owners. It works fine (ie: rebooted when we have a power cut)

2.1 If user account of the sap* is lost u can retrive by loging into os level as sidadm type this command
DELETE SAP<sid>.USR02 where BNAME='SAP*' AND MANDT=100
This 100 is the client in which u want to delete the sap*
after that restart the server and login as sap* with the default password as pass

DISPLAY issue Oracle Database 11gR2 Installation On Oracle Linux 6

Btw, Apple Mac OS X provides seamless X11 support and uses VNC for screen sharing and even for installing a system remotely. If you use Apple Mac to access a remote Linux system, using ssh with X forwarding is very convenient as it works right out of the box without having to configure the remote Linux server.Nice. OS/X has come a long way the last few years. I recall a time when they pretended there was no "stinking" command line. :-)

Oracle 9i Database 9.2.0.1.0 Issues...

I downloaded the Oracle DB 9i Enterprise Edition (9.2.0.1) from Oracle's website for my class assignment. When I got to the screen that says "Installation types" Oracle 9i Database 9.2.0.1.0 and hit the NEXT button the universal installer disappears with no warning right at 36%. So then I tried to choose "Custom" instead of Enterprise Edition and the same exact thing happened. My computer specs are as follows:
O/S: Windows XP Professional
CPU: 2.8 Ghz
Phys. Memory: 1,024 MB
Available Physical Memory: 324 MB
Hard Disk: 210 GB free space
I would appreciate ANY help as my assignment is due on Monday. I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times and nothing seems to work. My friend suggested that there may be a DLL file causing conflict somewhere. I don't know...I just need help and I am so frustrated with this! Thanks.

I need to find out how to run a silent mode installation for Oracle 10g Database. I could perform such an installation for Oracle EX because I could found the installation guidelines.

Hi,
This is pertaining to Oracle PIM Data Hub installation.
I need to install Oracle PIM Data Hub in my local machine.Following are the software components that I could identify for Oracle PIM Data Hub installation.
1. Oracle database server 10g
2. Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3.1.0)
3. Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.0.1)
It would be a favour,if anyone kindly verify whether the list is correct and exhaustive.Additionally,whether installing Oracle PIM Data Hub to any local machine is feasible.

Problem Oracle 10g database Installation on Windows 2003 Server

I am trying to face some problem to install oracle 10g database on windows 2003 server with service pack 2. Once I start to installation it give me an error "Error in writing to directory 'c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\orainstall2004xxx'. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 45MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue"
I double-insured that there is enough disk-space and I am also in the Administrators-Group.
Please guide me for the above problem although I have done oracle 9i database installation with the same configuration.
